Unfortunately for BC, Carroll came out hitting on all cylinders and never let up.  Anyone know what happened to Horton?
The Saints Rest Express dream is still alive!  If you're looking for management with a comical quality.  NRO Street Agent Services sounds reliable.
JeffP, glad the beasts showed up for you.  Sounds like a very entertaining game:)
Hang in there Bucs, season's still young!

Looking at the box score, it appears the Scots played a good second half against The System.  Either that, or Grinnell's arms were getting really tired...  Just too much Beast in the first half.

The mousetraps and oversized shoeboxes will be waiting at Glennie.   :D

The game aside...what I can't understand is the attendance - 300??  Is the weather THAT bad?  From my recollection of past GC-MC games, the GC faithful don't miss an opportunity to rag on Coach Glasgow.

What hasn't been mentioned yet is a nice triple-double by MC's Rogers - statistically his best game as a Scot (easily)...I think he could be a difference-maker in MC's position in the mwc...

Fightingscots13-  it's the week before finals, which in GC is a big deal. However, the faithful of the Scarlet Sea did rag on the coach, who in one memorable reaction spun on his heels in a complete circle in reaction to a call he disliked. The guy is amusing to watch.

GC's Chamberlain managed to get some nice and forceful blocks last night. His butt has to be sore today, though - the big man went down several times.

I guess finals are not a big deal at the rest of our league member institutions.   ???

It's just that at GC anything less than an A results in varying degrees of physical torture over the Christmas break, not to mention actual coal in their stockings, which beyond the obvious lack of fun involved with coal, actually ruins perfectly good stockings with unbelievable stains.

Roop:  Sure glad everyone gets your wisdom and levity on this board, but you are backing one bad, bad b-ball team this year.  I feel for you.

I noticed that Scmitting only played 7 minutes for Ripon last night in their victory.  Who knows what happened?  Did he get hurt???

Thanks,
Nut

Nut, you just don't understand, the team just got off to a slow start in the first 10 minutes, it was like the were not ready to play.  Then, they just didn't seem to wake up in the next 10 minutes and got 1-2 bad breaks.  After half time it seemed that they spent about the first 10 minutes trying to adjust to the changes that were made in the locker room and then they seemed to lose energy in the final 10 minutes.  Other than that, they were sooooooo close.

Besides, they were tired from having to play on Sunday (I think they were the only team in the MWC to do so)

I43 was bad and the travel took it out of them

Next week is exam week

and the beat goes on.

Not breaking the 60 point barrier, again, is becoming a concern. However Carroll shot the lights out last night so I don't know who could have bet them. I dozed off at halftime and woke up at the end of the webcast to hear the final score. Looked up the stats this morning and couldn't believe Carroll actually shot better in the second half than they did in the first. 60% for the game and 54% from 3 point land. Probably couldn't do that in a shoot around if they tried.

The game was out of hand after 10 minutes and that's why the margin turned out like it did. I wasn't expecting them to go 15-1 in conference anyway and it does only count as one loss.

Hoops. While you are an NRO member you were not given any official title. Therefore you cannot resign without my permission. I respect your arrogance of assigning yourself a title so now you will have a new one. South Central Midwest Chapter President. Wear it well......................
Are there any meetings, events or duties for which I can flaunt my arrogance by ignoring?

I'll put something together for you.

Not surprising for a team that after 6 games has 60 assists and 110 turnovers.

The Roop

I don't think their offense is tailored to creating a lot of assists so 10 a game really isn't a liability. 110 turnovers however is a problem and I'll bet half of those are unforced.

Hoops, Looks like there will be a Coach Hahn Fan Club meeting coming up soon and you're welcome to ignore it when the date is set. I'll know more after my conference call tomorrow afternoon. Gotta re-work a deal for a school out east that fell through last year. One of the alumni insisted on doing everything his way and I told him it wouldn't work. He got mad and backed out. That meant there wasn't enough of a bankroll left for me to work with. This year it sounds like we're all on the same page but the price has gone up. The favors I called in last year were wasted and that needs to be made up for, etc.

GrinnellFan68

all this talk about grinnell finals is making me cringe.

my very first final at grinnell, the professor hands us a blank periodic table of elements and we have to fill in the blanks. the crazy thing is that the class was u.s. history. some sort of weird mind game final. a bunch of us reported him and the hippie professor got fired.

nice win yesterday, pio cagers. couldn't figure out if it was marv albert or john martinson doing the game the radio play by play was so good. i love it when he talks about the pioneers bringing it from left to right on my radio dial. puts me right there. in all seriousness though, doing radio for grinnell games has to be one of the most difficult jobs a human can try to do and i doff my cap to you, john martinson for performing admirably.

RiponRed34

David McMullen had another very good game with 10 pts., 8 assists, 4 rbs, and 4 steals (one turnover).  McMullen is averaging close to 4 1/2 steals for the season.  It was a great road win for the Red Hawks playing most of the game without Schmitting.  Chris Kellet could emerge as another scoring threat for Ripon (20 pts. @ Norby's)

I'm happy to report Brian Schmitting should be fine.  He bumped his head early in the first half.  With almost a month before Ripon's next game, he should be able to recover.

Early, you remember how it feels to bump your head right....or maybe you don't :)
