Yes, yes, the whole world has a Saints Rest Mug.

When did this happen?  I don't have a Saint's Rest mug and I've been to Saint's Rest.  Oh well maybe it was stolen along with that Coffee JeffP was sending to honor my random win in the holiday schedule picking contest.  I hate my mailman.  He totally steals all my good stuff.

Grinnell sure went North
in a very pronounced way.
Lit up THIS board, eh?

I've met SF86...he is quite handsome...and very, very old.

He was also nice enough to help me to my seat and speak loud enough for me to hear. ;D :D ;D

Um, I just found the box with the Decaf, Hoops. I'll get it out tomorrow. Who knows. I may even switch out the old stale stuff I was supposed to send weeks ago. :o

Ummmm, DHF? Karma to Hoopsfan? Anyone else getting a karma boost here?

Or did Old School already cancel out your vote?  :D :P

Karma?  What's that?  I don't bother with that stuff! lol ;)...and I'd never smite April, well, maybe.  ;D

I think its obvious that Lawrence will be lucky to win another game this season.   ::)

Pretty fair weekend for BC this weekend too, eh?
Yes, it was. It's always good to see a team continue to fight when things haven't been going too well.

A pat on the back for the bucs.

Of course, now that the weekend is past, I'm a bit of Ripon and Larry fan. Let's see, if GC, RC, and LU all win tomorrow, we'll have 4 teams tied at the top at 6-3 and another team at 6-5. Anyone want to try to describe THAT tie breaker?!  :-\

I think most of the Grinnell fans would agree with me when I say, "I'm glad we don't have to play them again, and I don't relish the thought of having to play them in the tournament if both teams make it." I'm giddy that we beat them twice. Trying to win a third time against them seems like it would be asking wa-a-a-a-y too much.

Same goes for Ripon. Glad we only have to play them once and don't look forward to the 'opportunity' to play them again if both make the tournament.

Can we just call it a season right now?

I always thought it was the most unfair thing in sports when you play some teams in your conference ONCE and other teams in your conference TWICE.  Make it an even playing field and play everyone twice.

I'm just glad that Wisconsin gets to play both Ohio State AND Michigan next year in football.

Yup, and those of us who are U of Iowa fans are disappointed that both OSU and Michigan are off the schedule next year. It's just not fair!  :D

Good luck to GC in their home court game w/KC tonight! Hopefully they've rested their limbs and are ready to add another notch to the win column.  :D

There's an article in today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel giving St. Norbert Coach Gary Grzesk positive props for the up-to-now strong in-conference showing of the Green Knights.

I disagree, why not send emails? I send emails to papers that print stories about d3 games all the time... They won't continue to write stories if they don't know that anyone wants them, and since small papers don't get as many letters and large ones, getting a few emails, especially from people way across the country, tells a newspaper editor, hey, if I make the effort to include a d3game in our little paper, we will get readership on a national level that we never would anyway. And if big newspapers from big cities, like the LA or the Chicago papers (both that have done stories on d3 recently) get innundated by letters saying how much they appreciate it, they won't only report on the big stories. DIII is still definitely at the stage where we need to promote ourselves. :) It only takes a minute or two to write notes to editors or sports writers or both, so, why not? For a local example, when they started writing all those stories on Lawrence, I sent a few to the Post-Crescent saying something like,

"I appreciated your recent story called ___. I am a Wheaton college (IL) fan who lives in CA and enjoys keeping up with Lawrence and the rest of the MWC and DIII basketball. Thanks for being a part of making that easier on me."

It's just something I do every once in a while as a pat on the back to people covering DIII and to encourage more of it. Yes, that makes me a little weird. But I think all of us weirdos that like DIII a little to much benefit from the rest of our weirdnesses.  ??? :D

It would be fine to send an e-mail. It would be better to read the story first. :)
