[Top Ten MWC
1. Schmitting - C (gotta start with a great big man, cause he'll make the guards better....plus I taught him all he knows)
2. Maclin
3. Drury - pg (by committee)
4. Arseneault - pg (by committee)
5. Walker

Bench
McMullen
Hurley
Arseneault
B. Johnson (when he's on he's tough to stop)

*my ten might be biased....I haven't seen most of these guys play.
ummmm...you're ten might not be ten...and you have Arseneault twice...he's good and all, but I don't think he belongs on here twice...  ;)

Am I missing something?

OK, the edited version has ten names, but two are still Arseneault. I'm going to guess that you have a mental block that won't allow you to type Grotberg's name. What I don't know is whether you have him in the first five or the second.  ;)

I'd just take the top ten in scoring:

Grotberg, Horton, Drury, Maclin, Arseneault, Gillingham, Long, Singleton, Rogers and Schmitting, then replace Bobby Long with Kroeger from Lawrence.

I'd be happy with those ten and you'd never really have to worry about where your points are coming from.  They can't all be cold on the same night.

I like Systemfans list...I think you may need Kroger on there instead of Rogers.

Hoopsfan, nice idea, but someone has to play defense!?!?! Need Mcmullen on there for leadership, toughness, defense

hjmphelp

I like SF86 list as well, but will wait til after tonight's game to see how loudly I will make the case to reverse Drury/Grotberg. I haven't seen Drury in a year, so...

HUGE weekend for GC this weekend and EXTRA HUGE game tonight.

jeffp's voice will be augmented tonight by Grandchildren! Grandson is a real chip off the old block-once removed- so I will NOT be the loudest or the most childish Grinnell fan for once! ;D :D ;D

What's the world coming to when RiponRed34 takes a Larry player over anyone?!  :D

That was my last spot. I wanted to put in Chamberlain but I thought that would be too much of a homer. I took Rogers because he's top 10 in scoring, rebounding, assists, free throw %, 3 point %, and assist-to-turnover in the league. He does a little bit of everything, and I'd want a player like that on the team to fill-in where ever needed. He could fill-in at guard or forward.

Actually, once I looked at his numbers, I was pretty impressed.

Heck, I had seven of those ten. I put Walker and Hurley in there for the boards (2nd and third in the league) and McMullen to distribute the ball (2nd in the league in assists), so my group will surely score.

LU_nut

Good Luck to LU this weekend......they really need to get on a roll to make the conference race interesting.  Ripon and Carroll still to come at home, but if they cannot take care of business this weekend, it does not matter.

I think they are due to get things together.  It is a long season and they have been playing poorly lately.  I still have faith.

Yeah, but does he have a ponytail?

It's only 4.5 hours until game time, shouldn't you be getting your seat for the evening? Probably the biggest game of the year for the Pioneers (yes, both of them). GC needs to get over the hump against these guys; they've lost the last five.

Extend one streak and break another at the same time!

Nobody has to play defense.  That's a myth.  So long as you score most every time down the floor and avoid turnovers, you're set.  It's all math.  These guys are good enough all-around players to make teams pay.  I'm not worried.

If I was a coach and could take a team into battle it would be:

PG David McMullen
SG Nathan Drury
SG Jon Grotberg
PF Andy Horton
C Brian Schmitting

Bench
1. David Arseneault
2. Joe Terwelp
3. Jason Maclin
4. Andy Hurley
5. Kroeger

I'm trying to imagine McMullen's dilemma if he's bringing the ball down the court and has to choose between Drury on one side, Grotberg on the other, and Schmitting down low.

Scots4

Being a point guard myself, I would welcome that dilemma anyday.

On a side note...unless I was hearing those voices in my head again, I could've sworn I heard someone yell, "Old School" after the game when I was heading to the bathroom.  Obviously I wouldn't expect anyone to wait for me.  Anyway, if that person did yell to me, send me an email or a message to confirm that I actually heard that.  Don't worry, I'll keep your identity a secret!  If not, it will just give me another reason to stop doing all those recreational drugs! lol.

OS, don't worry, no reason to end the recreational drug use . . .  you did hear someone yell "Old School."  Twas I.

First-time poster here, many time reader.  You do a good job on your analysis of MW and WIAC doings.  Was looking for you at the Oshy-LaX game.
