That's good to know the conference doesn't care.  We just have cheapskates up in New England who want those 2 dollars per person for playoffs.

She's a woman, you never know what will satisfy their "logic."

Please, please everyone post some more before April signs on again.
You lose :P

If you want to see some major head case logic, you should visit the multi day argument Greg, usee and I had about how the Bears actually stole their color choice from Wheaton on the board here http://www.d3sports.com/post/index.php?topic=4077.msg659765#msg659765

On the other hand, two of the three perpetrators of that discussion were male, so there goes your logic.  :P

HEY! You can't use diehardfan as an example!! Anyone - regardless of physiology - who can write haiku on D3 basketball is the exception that proves the rule.

It's just a catch 22, because in the case of my wife; it's so true.  I could say, "I'm going to drive four and a half hours into the middle of Iowa, bum coffee off some old hippie, sleep in a cheap motel, go to a few basketball games, bum more coffee and drive home."  And she'll look at me like I'm some sort of demon that she has to kill with her laser eyes.  And I'll go, "but the games are free."  And she'll smile and shrug and say, "ok, have fun."

...or she might just kill me and bury me in the back yard.  You never can tell.  Hence the "logic" argument.

Hah... that's funny enough to warrent some karma, despite the overgeneralizing crack about women.  :P

The really good news is that I tied for top scorer in the Alumni game this year. ;)

Couldn't find an archive on Beloits site about that game. Although I'm not sure it would tell me anything  any way. 4 years in the service, a brief return to Beloit, 12 years in KY then 3 years back in WI before I discovered D3hoops amounts to about 15 graduating classes that I would have never seen play or even heard of. And for all the math majors out there I know that doesn't add up to 15 but I did see a game here and there over that 20 year (or so) time period.

So I'll hazard a guess as to your identity. Did you miss an open but out of control lay-up at the end of regulation that led to 3 over times vs. a conference opponent that has since changed their name ??

et al, more than one team has changed their name so it's not as obvious as you may think.

Is it too early to talk POY?

My vote goes to the Senior Brian Schmitting, but of course my opinion could change if he doesn't show up, on the road, against CC and LU.  I wouldn't have a problem if Drury got it and then Davey coming in at third.

Roop, please forgive me for the misleading statement (the kinder and gentler Dolph regressed.)  Beloit College did not hold an Alumni game this year (continuing the great relationship that they have developed with former players) so I tied with everyone else.

I was wondering about that.............. I remember getting a clipping in the mail from the folks about the last alumni game they had but that must have been 2 years ago/last season. In any case I only recognized one of the participants as somebody I know I saw play.

Alumni game, Freshman vs. Varsity game, a J.V. team. Lots of things have gone by the wayside over the years. Although an Alumni game and Freshman vs. Varsity game should be easy to rekindle if an effort was made. Not sure we'll ever see J.V. ball in the MWC again. Additionally, I don't see the need to keep Midnight Madness such a closely guarded secret. I couldn't make it this year because it was on a week night, due to the volleyball team hosting the tournament, but as far as I know there wasn't even any public announcement for it. I learned of it through the NRO grapevine.

Thanks, JeffP.  Old School probably used to put away his baseball gear when there were two outs...   :D

Here, then, is the updated look at the scenarios for the #4 spot:

Lake Forest    7-5       IC, at GC, at MC, KC
St. Norbert     7-6       BC, at CC, LU
Lawrence       6-6       RC, at BC, at SNC, CC
Monmouth      5-8       Knox, at IC, LFC

If adding who Monmouth plays is considered updated, I'll accept that! lol  :o  I don't see Lake Forest going 1-3 and Monmouth going 3-0.  Mathematically, I guess they are still alive, barely...not to mention they also have to leapfrog St. Norbert and Lawrence.  Monmouth has played 13 conference games so far and have won 5.  That doesn't make me believe they'll win 3 in 3.

BTW, I've never played baseball!  ;)

Never played baseball...........................

Well then you never had the pleasure of experiencing a 4-3 lead with two out and nobody on in the top of the 7th (freshmen ball was only 7 innings), only to fall behind 23-4 before getting the last out. Needless to say we didn't rally in the bottom half of the inning.

There was an alumni game, the morning before the Ripon game.  It was kind of thrown together at the last minute though.  There were some out-of-towners notified the evening before.....so it was impossible to attend:)
