systemfan86-

I've been at New Darby since Wednesday reserving my lucky seats.

jeffdc and Mrs dc are already across the way.

Roop is coming but I'm not sure we can hold the seats, especially if the storm holds him up.

Directions for Ripon, Carroll, and Lake Forest buses:

Take Malcom exit, Turn left. Turn left at Montezuma. Turn Left at Millersberg. Turn left at Hartwick. Turn left at Highway 6. Turn left at Ladora. Turn Left at Belle Plaine. Turn left at Chelsea. Turn left at Le Grande. Follow 146 to Grinnell. Turn left at 10th Avenue. Turn left at New Darby.

That is a much quicker route than what you normally take. ;D :D ;D

Aren't you guys (...and DHF...and "that girl") forgetting a certain team?

Wishing everyone luck with the games and weather this weekend....Some on this board know that I'm a girl, so I might as well let the "cat out of the bag"....I know I've fooled many to thinking otherwise w/ my basketball expertise, but yes....I am....LOL
Have fun at Darby, wish I could've been there ;D

Does anyone know if these games will be broadcasted through the internet?  Does anyone have a possible radio link?

I really wouldn't be surprised if the winner of the CC/RC game went on to win the whole thing.  I think Ripon really matches up well with GC and I know there will be few looks Ripon can give Grinnell that they haven't seen this year.  Overall, I think CC is the best team.  I think Ripon's only chance to beat CC is to go down low to schmitting.  CC doesn't have anyone who can stop him.  McMullen and especially Wise must come out ready to attack.

I wouldn't count Ripon out next year.  I know they are losing three very good seniors, but Gillespie has had one losing season in the last 20 some years.  Plus, there's a very good chance (without saying for sure) that Gillie's kid is coming to Ripon next year.  He's the leading scorer in Wisconsin (27pts/gm and 10rbs/game) and recently dropped 52 points on some 18-1 team.  He is very very good.  What Ripon will really need is some post help...whether it's through recuiting or through a transfer or two.  Paul Wise will be very hard to stop next year and as Scots4 pointed out, Vehantre Brown could be a sleeper next year, he's probably the most atheltic kid in the MWC.

I gotta say, it was great to see the unbeatable LU program get a reality check this year.  Players like Briaer don't come along so often.

It's incredibly strange that one didn't need to read what type of person would write an asinine  and star chambered comment.  I feel bad for the other Ripon fans that you represent who aren't quite as low brow as you are!

Early

Oh yeah, and better dead than red is a real classy line too right.

Check the MWC site

You do know what homework is, don't you?

Sure nice to see this board turn into a pissing match here in last few hours! I'd been gettin' worried about it! ;D :D ;D

Early- I'm sorry that a line used over the past century or so referring to a political party is applied to you (formerly redmen), but at least there is some reasonable connection to any aside from slander.  FULU is a boorish comment that requires utter intellectual stupidity to come up with.  I will say that I am rather pleased that a Ripon fan could put four letters together  :D

Gotta go with Early on this one. There's no love loss between these two teams, so no one should be surprised. You've had three years of lording it over them LUMAN80, you have to give them a little time to return the favor.

OK. I have to admit, the one concern I have about GC making it to the final and seeing Ripon is that we haven't seen them in a month, and they could give us looks we haven't seen. On the plus side, CC plays up tempo, so it's not like RC would be 'rested' coming into the game.

Oddly, I like the CC is the best team comment. Please underestimate Grinnell. If winning 13 in row - including all other nine teams in the conference - coming into the game doesn't impress you, nothing will. Won't even try.

Hey! Grinnell is on the front page of D3Hoops!

Nice article and downloads, Pat! Thanks for the coverage!

"broadcasted"?

:)

I wouldn't be surprised to see anyone win it, but I think that the RC/CC game is going to be a slugfest, and I don't see those teams having the legs to take on the system in game two (should Grinnell win).  I remember '01 when IC and LFC (I think) played an incredibly hard fought game and in the end IC just didn't have the legs to finish.  It was evident from my vantage point, that they weren't prepared to have the system the next afternoon from a hard game.  It'll be interesting all the same.

In response to the '02-'03 argument:  that was a different team.  They were already moving towards a more deliberate (it's laughable, I know) style of system and there was a lot more 'slow down' then on the '01 team.  Skarning and Anderson and Carlson all pushed the ball well.  I feel that they were more demanding pace-wise.  Others may disagree, but that was always my take.  Also, Hochman forced the other team's big man to do a lot more defensively then any of our shooters since.

Come on, no one from Ripon or Monmouth is ever going to say that Grinnell is the best team in the tournament.  We could be 25-0 and defending National Champs and we would still here 'mice in a box' comments and the like.  The System apparently deeply offends some, and the fact that we are outright champs shouldn't be valid evidence of initial superiority.  Right??  ;)
