A few things.....

If you could post time remaining with the score, that would rock.

Also, saying Ripon should get used to being dominated by LU is ridiculous.  LU didn't make the tourney this year, Ripon did.  I'll take that every year.  Also, I know there has been some discussion about recruit X going to LU.  Anyone mention recruit, oh I don't know, say recruit G who might go to Ripon?

Thanks for the updates.

86-79 Carroll on a Drury 3 with 3 minutes to go.

Still think Ripon will need to get used to losing to LU.

sorry, I wandered away....yes Carroll wins.

Lake Forest/Grinnell game close at the start.

Just to add in my two cents:

Better Dead Than Red.

The Enemy of our Enemy is our friend thus:

I wouldn'd mind seeing Carroll win the whole thing this year.  They have been losing out to us for three years, so i feel they are due.

I guess we will see tomorrow, but as least I can be happy Ripon lost.

And for those of you who feel that this rivalry is a bit overboard, there is a quite good book about the UNC/Duke Rivalry out there that should give you a better sense of how much we Lawrence students/ alums hate Ripon, and how much you Ripon students...well maybe not students, I mean we all know that Early and RR 34 got their knowledge in the real word, not at grades 13-16 at Ripon, but how much they hate Lawrence.

Granted deep down there is a bit of mutual respect there, but its much easier to let the hatred float to the surface.

So..as I depart for now, I must leave a lasting resounding...

BETTER DEAD THAN RED!!!!!

Better Dead then Red

Aren't you guys (...and DHF...and "that girl") forgetting a certain team?

Have fun at Darby, wish I could've been there ;D

The sad refrain from Buc fans for so many years..........

Best of luck to CC and whoever their opponent turns out to be on Saturday.  Congrats to all four tems on getting there.

Huge surprise in second game as Lake Forest is clobbering Grinnell........didn't grinnell just beat these guys by 30 a week or two ago???

Grinnell cannot hit a thing.

Must not have got the Grade A peanut shipment in on time for the Circus.

Wonder if Grinell will get a bid after such an embarrassing performance?

They could've lost by 1 in 5 overtimes...they aren't getting a Pool C bid.  It doesn't matter how they lost.  ::)  A disappointing end to a very good season.  I think Carroll will put it out, though Lake Forest has been playing well lately, if I remember correctly.

Sad times in Darby tonight for us GC fans. LFC had an extremely effective defense, our guys seemed jittery, and we had lots of problems with the 3s.

Nonetheless, a great season for GC and I hope we'll be back in the tourney next year!
Threes are better than twos....

Sea of Red

Were they just not shooting well, or did LFC throw something crazy at them?

Tough to have such a good run end in a bad manner.  When it goes bad in the system it goes real bad, I know, but That'll learn'em for next year.

Maybe....JUST MAYBE....I believe Grinnell might not be the favorite because both Ripon and CC have Seniors that lead their respective teams that have been in Conference Championship games before....call me crazy, but isn't Grinnell lead by two Sophomores who have never seen what kind of intensity the MWC tourney brings.  Maybe it doesn't matter, but overall CC and RC have more talent.

Although LF wasn't mentioned in the equation above, I wonder if the collective (in)experience of Grinnell was a factor.  (Still, an impressive season by The System.)

Congrats to Coach Shults and Carroll College for a BIG win tonight.

BIG congrats to Coach Conger and LFC for the stunning win over Grinnell. Truly in line for COY award with a very young, well coached team.

Not sure what happened tonight. Just stunned. First time I have EVER left a GC game early in over 50 years ('cept when Mom made dad take me home after 9:00 when I was in my earlies).  The team just seemed totally unprepared for this game. You have to take treys to hit treys, poor movemnt on the court,  lack of passing...no lack of effort, but, wow. What a let down.

Only player that seemed to have his head in the game was Schmidt. Didn't score much but played incredible defense throughout. He is an extremely valuable player who has had his role changed over his 3 years here. Just a jewel of a performance coming out of a bag of coal.

Disapointed with the end of a great season and a great run, but the best team won last night. Wonder if Carroll will have the legs to play today, but guessing they will be ready.

See you all next year!

A very disappointing end to a very good year. You never like to see them lose, but you want to see them play well if they do. Apparently GC didn't. I wasn't able to watch the game, and it appears that that was a blessing in disguise. The numbers from the box score look awful. They didn't appear to play their game, and they weren't hitting their shots. The second half looks particularly bad. No way GC can win when they hit 3 of 18 from 3pt and only make 11 of 24 from the line in the 2nd half.

A tip of the hat to LFC on a good game and a good win.

Still think Ripon will need to get used to losing to LU.

I think the statement is more that Ripon has to get used to Larwence being a title contender every year.
I mean even LU fans have to admit that Larwence wasn't a very good consistent basketball team in in the past (late 90's and for a few years in 2000.....post Braier).  They had a few good years, but nothing as consistent as what we have seen now.

Tough loss to RC yesterday....it's hard to win when you give up 90+ points.  Another huge game from Schmitting, and Johnson came out with a nice game.

Grinnell loses, and what seems like an "inexperienced" team was jittery????
Maybe......just maybe.....RR34 was right.  But in all fairness Grinnell DID have a great season, 13 wins in a row!!!!  That a very big accomplishment.

Let's see how the MWC turns out today.
