Alright all you Hugh Hefners, as the boards only female, I'm going to have to let this one go. But I reserve the right to be grossed out. :P
Don't forget about Go Bucs
I know, my apologies to Go Bucs, I realized that I had posted incorrectly while in the shower this morning... And yes, the fact that I was thinking about d3basketball stuff in the shower scares me too.  :-[
Wait, dunks are only worth two points?!?!!!? Why does anyone do them? - diehardfan

I think the fact that you were willing to mention yourself in the shower on this board is scarier than anything.  That's giving these guys a lot of ammunition and it's not scaring off the stalkers either.

Thanks Systemfan....no it's exactly what I wanted to hear...you answered my question!   Great comparison, while I would never put Drury in Becker's catergory, I would never put Schmitting in Braier's category either so it works.

Schmitting did lead the league in shooting and top 6 in blocks....led the nation last year in shooting.  God only knows what his numbers would look like offensively if he got more touches.

With that being said, I'm sure Drury will, as you call it, be the man...and he deserves it.

Roop, or anyone who saw the Ripon/Carroll game.  What were your impressions.  I mean Carroll was doubling and sometimes tripling Schmitting and he still scored (15/17 FG)

Sea of Red

But back in '01 Kohl avg 16/5.5

to Henry Grants 16/11

and Grant won.  I think it goes either way.

I personally think Carroll can win in the quad cities.  They HAVE to shoot well, but they have a lot of playmakers.  Ledwig and Ligocki were the reason Carroll beat Ripon in my opinion.  Drury was good, but Ledwig was the key.

Ugh, well apparently I'm stupid. Isn't that a normal thing to talk about? Thinking of things in the shower and how it scares people? Like, a guy thinking about work in the shower? (I do that all the time too.)  ??? :-\ :-X

True, but part of the original question was that player was on a team that made the conference tournament. RC and BC tied with Norbs that year for 4th place so one of them made the tourney and one didn't - I honestly don't remember which, but I'm guessing the answer will come quickly.

Actually it's interesting if those two were considered the leading POY candidates that year; given that their respective teams were 9-7 in the conference.

Sea of Red

Beloit made the tourney that year, as it was Grinnell's thrid victory over them in one season, as well as the second one point victory (if I remember correctly).

Sea of Red

Actually, maybe Ripon did  ???  It's all a little hazy for me, and looking at the website it looks like it would have been a crazy tie-breaker.

I think that we beat two teams three times to win the title, though.

It would not bother me a bit to see Drury and Schmitting share the honor.  I think they are pretty clearly the top two choices.   I think the winner of the semi-final game this past weekend gets the inside track as history has shown there is a benefit to being on the championship team.

Both excellent players.

Ps: Love to see Carroll beat Augustana this week.

RiponRed34

For the record Ripon did NOT make the tournament that year (00-01) with an injury plagued season (I would know).  But we won the conference tournament the next year (01-02) and acutally the year before (99-00).

Something tells me we will hear from Dolph today.

I heard the same thing about Coach Youngblood. I understand theres a team meeting this afternoon. We should all have the definate answers then but it sounds like thats the case. Does not surprise me though. Many people have wanted Coach Youngblood out for many years.

It will be interesting to see what happens with all the recruits I heard they had lined up for next year. I know the coaching staff was very excited about all the kids who had pretty much said they were coming to Beloit. Wonder if they still will.

Well good luck to the next coach at BC. The next one may be a better coach than CY but there's no way he could possibly be a better man. Cecil is one of the finest examples of honor, integrity, and moral standards anyone could ask for in someone who helps shape the lives of young men. Good luck to him in what ever he does next.

There you go Dolph, your wish has come true.

Can I send in an application for the chance to coach Andy Horton for two years?

You could.  But my guess is that the position will require a college diploma.  Maybe they'll hire an interim next year and keep the end of the bench warm for you.   :)

p.s.  Dolph, please celebrate smart.  Don't drink and drive.
HEY PAL, DON'T BLOCK THE SHOT!
