Wow! Go Carroll!!!  :o :o :o

Given how competitive this league was... and how Carroll is just knocking up on the Top 10 in D3hoops.com poll.... just how good was Grinnell and others near the top by the end of the season? Wow!

Carroll is making the MWC look seriously good this post season.

Final - Carroll 86, UST 80.

Pioneers controlled the tempo and played a fantastic game on the road.

Wow. What another great win for CC. 86-80. Way to represent the MWC well. Keep it going.

Good thing they played the game. The KUST in studio crew predicted an 85-42 UST win. Obviously they don't have random drug tests there.

And yes, I was wrong. I predicted a Carroll win by at least 11.5. My bad.

@UW-Stevens Point I really like Carrolls chances against Hope. Should Wash U. pull the upset the MWC could have their first team in Salem. If the Sectional isn't at Point then the tournament is fixed.

Old School.............. if you happen upon an extra ticket let me know.

Cinderella does in fact reside in the MWC.

Carroll played real well, I give them credit, but St Thomas is a much better team.  St. Thomas lost that game for as well as Carroll played.  They turned the ball over so much.  They were going inside to Rosefelt, and it works when they took a lead early in the second half, but then they stopped doing it.

It was neck and neck until the last 4 minutes when St Thomas threw the ball away 3 straight possesions and carroll scored.

Like i said I give carroll credit, but I don't think this is the second comming of the 03 UWSP team.

Collomy was a big key for carroll, only played the fisr 3 minutes in the first half with 2 quick fouls, but hit threeor four huge treys in the second half.  Drury did a good job, but Ladwig the freshman was huge.  He was the best player on the floor by far.  Great offensively, and great defensively shutting down Brian Scnettler for UST fairly well.  He looked like he turned an ankle with about 30 seconds left. though so his condition will be important for next weekend.

I had to post this in a new window just because its a big point.

Everyone says the MIAC is so tough, and maybe it is top to bottom, but the last three years, the MIAC Champion has been eliminated from the NCAA Tournament by the MWC.

2005- Gustavus Adolphus loses at home to Lawrence.
2006-St Thomas loses on the road at Lawrence.
2007- St Thomas loses at home to Carroll.

I think we can make a decent point for MWC consideration in pool C bids over the MIAC now...

Be fair larry_u. I don't particularly like Carroll either. However, per my previous posts, I don't think the MIAC is as good as they think they are. Carroll isn't a Cinderella until they get to Salem in my opinion.

The win @Augustana surprised me more than tonights did.

Let me add my congrats to the 'other' Pioneers.  ::) ;) :)

Two very good wins. It reminds me a little of the run Larry put together a couple years ago. Everyone kept saying "They've played well, but they can't beat [insert school name here]" Let's hope their as successful (and more) than Larry was.

I would call them a Cinderella.  You come in not even winning your conference regular season and then go to the Number 9 and number 6 teams in the country and win on their home floor.  Thats more impressive then a 13 seed beating a 4, and and 5 seed on a neutral floor to me, and those teams are cinderellas.

Carroll played well, but I've seen St. Thomas play a few times this season and this was by far the worst I've seen them.  It it their fault for not coming to play, yes.  Did carroll deserve to win, yes.  If they play best of 7 does St Thomas win in 5 or 6 games. Yes.

But, Its one game for the money, and Carroll took it so congrats to them.  Lets see if they can break the curse of MWC Teams playing in Quant.  I think were like 0-20 in the last 5 years there or something....

Why would you say that?  Carroll beat the #1 CCIW team and the #1 MIAC team on their home courts.  I'm sure they are playing a lot better than when Point beat them at the beginning of the season...and of course, Point's probably playing better too.

Carroll is definitely a Cinderella.  See you Friday night!

Hey, you never know. Van Male is more centrally located. Carroll might host based on NCAA economics.

Mr. Ypsi

I would concur that Carroll is a Cinderella already.  If they make it to Salem, they would be THE Cinderella virtually of d3 history, having beaten 4 consecutive top 10 teams on the road (3 on the opponent's floor)!

Carroll has certainly come a long way since leaving the CCIW in 1992.  In their 37 years in that conference they compiled a record of 187-364 (.339), the worst of any team past or current by a sizable margin.

Congratulations to Carroll!

JUSTINTYEM

And still nothing on D3HOOPS. Carroll shocks 2 teams, and still not a thing for the MWC.

No, Carroll is not a Cinderella yet. Plenty of debate on CCIW about the conference not really having a dominant team this year. So it wasn't a big surprise that Carroll won at Augie. MIAC, well......... I'll be polite as I can. A Final Four team a few years ago does not guarantee success this year. I predicted a Carroll tonight and was only in error on the margin of victory.
