Greek Tragedy

I have no hate towards Youngblood or Beloit.  In fact, I have no dog in this fight, but based on a quick glance at the records since Youngblood took over, it doesn't really look like he improved the team on a consistent basis.  His overall record is horrible.  10 years or so, is plenty of time to recruit your own players and build (or rebuild) a program.

It has all been carefully orchestrated Old School. NRO Covert Ops has been at this for some time. Cecil (aka Dean Youngblood) will soon be implementing a new scholarship for which only I can qualify. So I have a "free-ride" at Beloit coming to me. In return I will study History and Law and find a loop hole which allows Cecil and I to open a Native American Casino on campus. Since I'm Native American, with a tribal I.D. to prove it, I already have a foot in the door and the burial mounds on campus bare witness to my claim.

Here are the words from the New Roop Order..............

I really am curious why there are so many Cecil haters???  Is it just because he didn't win?
I don't think there are any Cecil haters on this board.  Just a few "frustrated" loyal fans!  Cecil is beloved on campus, and he's a class act.  I do agree w/ OS though, 10 years is enough time to prove yourself.  I know he wanted to succeed, just as much as the people/players that adored him, but he just didn't have the "knack" to win.

How could they, how could they, how could they. This is worse than if the Packers hired Mike Ditka. Since I know where Quandt is now I may have to become a Point fan. While the pedigree is very impressive I'm not at all fond of one of the MWC ties. I'm hoping the NRO Grapevine is wrong on this one but it usually isn't.
Roop, since Coach Vraney may be "tainted" with "red".......at least he didn't graduate from there ;D  You haven't supported the Bucs for the last 35 years, to give up now!  Although, I enjoy your newly enlarged logo to replace the SP dog.....and though your alma mater is purple, as Point.....Blue is still your color :)

Those who thought Randall had no interest were clearly wrong.  I wanted him for a coach
Randall would've been the "cats meow".....close, but no cigar ???

gobucs must be into the corn squeezins today. Multiple quotes and a link within a quote....... That just isn't likely to happen on a normal day.

Having never attended college I have ALL my eligibility left. Since the "Cecil Foundation Scholarship for future Native American Pit Bosses" has nothing to do with athletics I could receive said scholarship and still compete at the D3 level. You won't see me on the basketball court however. As much as I love playing I'm simply not that good. Rather you'd find me at first base or middle relief for the baseball team. Like the saying goes............ Old lefty's never have to retire they just have to find another team.

So I can assume you just care more about how Beloit does than Knox?  Heimann has been there for over 30 years yet not much improvement as a program.  In fact he has about the same winning percentage as Cecil.  I haven't heard anyone asking for his resignation however.  I get the impression that Knox really doesn't matter much to this board...not a whole lot of Knox supporters out there.  True???

Actually, from the looks of it, just mentioning Kn-x will cost you some karma.

Not on this board anyway, no. Guess not.

I don't care about any of the "south" teams in the MWC, really.  No offense.  I'm a Stevens Point Pointer fan, so getting down there is a bit much.  I guess if I was forced to pick a MWC team, it'd be Ripon.  I've been there several times, over to Appleton, down to Waukesha...haven't made it up to DePere yet for a game.  I'm definitely not a Viking fan.  I've tried to see more MWC games when WIAC games aren't getting in the way.  I was over at Oshkosh to watch LU, Carroll and Grinnell.  Admittedly, I was a huge critic of Grinnell about three years ago, but they've warmed up to me.  I like Arseneault and Chamberlain.  So, probably Ripon and then Grinnell in my list of MWC teams that I may cheer for.

This board was apparently started by a Knox person (Siwash) , but it doesnt appear they have posted since.

What a week for Beloit...thrown under the bus by Randall and then shunned by the Roop :D

If you are going to pass blame at Beloit, shouldnt it go to Ed DeGeorge? He is beloved at the school, but I dont believe he was even a .500 career coach. He was also a longtime AD. If your head honcho is celebrated for acheiving mediocrity, you cant be surprised when those around you settle for less, can you?

fightintitan you are right on with the whole DeGeorge thing.  The "Beloit bubble" really does exist...mediocracy is fine by all.  The whole "tradition" at Beloit has gone down the toilet.  Unfortunately, when ultimate frisbee is your best sport that's pretty bad (no offense, I like to play it).  Anyways, there really is not much support for athletics anymore, which is too bad.

My son was a 4 year basketball starter and he always "surprised" when some of his fellow classmates, didn't even know he played?  And only a couple of his professors ever came to the games.  I know there is more to the Beloit mediocracy situation than "coaching".......  I realize in the whole scope of life, that athletics are just "part" of it all, but what fun it is to win!  I think that administration is trying to improve the situation by hiring a fulltime AD.....lets hope the plan works!
My son also participated in ultimate frisbee and he had a blast ;D

That may or may not be true.  The started by name is really (as far as I can tell) the person with the oldest post when the site went to the new format.  I'm listed as the starter for a bunch of posts over in the NE Region that were there even before me.  I can imagine that the conference boards, for the most part, were begun by the administration in the early stages of site development.

LMAO. I'm coming to terms with it and the Roopacinno will be back in another day or two. Although I may have to make a Ripon-Southern shirt and distribute it on campus.

Here's a theory.............. Cecil takes the program and after a few years gets back into the conference tournament, then it falls off again. If you change coaches after that it appears legitimate. But when you wait until a couple good recruiting classes come in, and the program looks like it's about to sustain itself, a coaching change gives the impression that somebody is trying to put their own mark on the program. So I can see why whatthebuc thinks there will be more support now than in the past.

The program has been 37-78 over the past five years (years 6-10 under the old coach).  It was 4-19 this past season.  How does that make it look as if "the program is about to sustain itself".

Oh, I forgot, this was the year that those 5-6 recruits who were going to make everyone forget about Hinz were going to show up.  If only..........
