It's mind boggling that their choices were MWC or NAIA.  Not exactly two peas in a pod.  Does that make sense to anyone else?

If the NAthCon didn't want them then yes, that's pretty much it. They couldn't join the IIAC because they don't have football. It's a tough part of the country to be an independent in.

Of course, a potential disadvantage of dropping Carthage and Augie and adding the Clarke Holiday Tourney is that the tourney is usually filled with a lot of non-D3 teams, thus those outcomes are irrelevant come (NCAA) tourney time.  Of course, the recent history of the Beloit program, working on their QOWI/SOSI for a possible at-large NCAA tourney bid probably isn't one of their worries.

Pat,

Regarding the NathCon, when MSOE left and then came back, do you think the NathCon had a choice between MSOE and Clarke?

I looked at the Clarke website to see if their schedule is posted, it is, and also to see if they list the teams in their tournament, they don't. Of particular interest however was the fact that the NAIA Logo adorned their website. It would appear they have given up on joining the MWC any time soon.

Quite OLD NEWS which shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone 9 months after the fact.   :(

Maybe we should have a D3 Hoops Brat Fry?

Old School could call on his Sheboygan roots to get us some high quality brats and if we can't get brats we can get a lot of baloney from Sager  ::)

That's no worse than if I were to tell you about my new stylist that helped to greatly improve the condition of my hair. She's Chinese/American and her name is Kera Tin.

If only I gave karma points... :o ;D :D ;) :P

In Sheboygan brat news, Brat Days will NOT be hosting the PROFESSIONAL Brat Eating Contest that featured Joey Chestnut, the Black Widow and Kobayashi last year...however, they will be having an amateur brat eating contest.  That one was better anyway because someone actually puked in that contest.

No offense to Sheboygan but I think New Darby should host the amateur brat eating contest. In my experience the faster you eat them the less you can taste them. HiYoooooooo.

Concerning summer ball...it's really more of a way to keep teammates playing together and staying in shape while providing an outlet for players to work on their weaknesess.  Many times you can't gauge a player's or team's ability because 1. they might be trying to do things they generally wouldn't do during the season 2. no shot is a bad shot and 3. players don't defend like they normally would.  Also, it's a time for the captains and leaders of a team to learn to take an executive role.  With the absence of a coach, it forces players to figure things out for themselves on the fly, and during this time younger and less experienced players really look to others for leadership.

Looking forward to the season and dropping in whenever I can.

Anyone have any standings or info on the league at Joy of the Game?? There are several MWC teams playing there. Would love to know how they're doing. Thanks

Since it's Wisconsin, there should be no problem with getting someone to bring cheese to the D3hoops Brat Fry. T2K, of course, will bring the whine.

Are you suggesting that T2K complains from time to time ??
