I didn't see JeffP in the stands, though! I'm in shock!!

Is he still alive?  I'm counting on hanging at the Rest for a few hours when I'm up there next Saturday.  He didn't answer my email.

Yep, he's alive, just hiding in the coffee grounds.  Come on down and help me roust him out. We need his expert/amusing commentary!

Good to hear that Carroll is looking soft.

After all, it is a girl's name.

Hey, Carroll is a girl's name!

No, it isn't. Carroll is a boy's name. The girl's name is spelled C-A-R-O-L.

We went over this last year. I hope that we don't have to do it again next year.

98% of us know that but it is pronounced the same way, so that opens it up for the 2% to have a time about it.

Simpson College 114, GC 105.

Ouch. The 1st half was competitive, with each team trading the lead. SC was fast and extremely effective at shutting down GC's 2 pt game (yes, that is what I said...). No matter as the 3 pt game worked - until the 2nd half. GC came out and never managed to gain any momentum. About 8 minutes out the game widened as the 3 pt game went completely cold and SC racked up lots of free throws.

Nonetheless - GC fought very hard - it just seemed that the combination of cold shooting, a fast-footed opponent, and some understandable freshmen goofs kept them from taking this game home.

I would not be very happy if my parents named me Carroll or Shannon or Kelly, for that matter!  >:( ;)

1. Transylvania Vampires
2. Creighton Barrels
3. Waldorf Salads

Least we forget the Wisconsin Cheeseheads!  :)

If we're adding to the list I think the Mt. Union Stewards could be included.

It needs to be noted that the "Robert Morris" referred to here is the main campus Eagles, RMC-Chicago, rather than the downstate branch campus Eagles, RMC-Springfield. There's a vast difference between the two. The downstate version, RMC-Springfield, is a USCAA program that's generally comparable to about a mid-level D3 team. The big-city version, RMC-Chicago, is an NAIA-1 powerhouse that most seasons would be at the level of a Top 5 D3 team -- or even better.

In other words, getting whipped by RMCC at the Pizza Hut Monmouth Classic should be a lot easier for Knox and Monmouth to take than getting whipped by RMCS would've been.

Didn't they recently play Seton Hall to a 5 point game ??

Last year, one of Robert Morris's game led off a SportsCenter broadcast. It was a multi-OT game in the national quarterfinals or semifinals.

Because a team backed out on Monmouth, the Scots get the opportunity to see Robert Morris AGAIN this season (on Dec. 11). Combine that with games against Central Missouri State and Minnesota State, as well as St. Ambrose, and it's safe to say that no other MWC team has a tougher non-conference schedule. I believe the only Division III team on their non-conference schedule is Central.

OK, so I'm really headed up to Grinnell for the game Saturday.  Roop, you going to be there?  Anyone else?
