Too many cameras was my point. It made the game hard to watch. This angle then that angle and before long you didn't know what you were seeing.

Don't let curmudgeonly posts dissuade you from using multiple cameras. Multiple cameras are good.

Also, since web video is not a perfect stream, don't rely on the pictures solely to carry the action -- I would still do play-by-play close to the radio style. You never know how many frames the viewer is actually going to see.

oh and MWC - 1 vs CCIW - 0

This year's series will either end up CCIW 5, MWC 4, or CCIW 6, MWC 3 ... and that's in spite of the fact that three of the nine CCIW/MWC games scheduled for this season involve an NPU team that's been staggered by multiple injuries to the rotation.

Well, then it's a good thing they play the games.  Are there any other precursory excuses the MWC should know about just in case?

So far its Carroll over North Park

The remaining 8 games are...

Lake Forest @ North Central
Illinois College @ North Parl
Illinois College @ Illinois Wesleyan
Knox @ Augustana
North Park @ Knox
Milikin @ Knox
Wheaton at Grinnell
Augustana @ Beloit

I don't buy the North Park excuse though for the MWC having the 3-4 wins that you have predicted, because minus the Wheaton @ Grinnell the remaining seven games feature teams from the MWC not predicted to make the conference tournament versus teams picked 1 and 2 in the CCIW.  With Lawrence and St. Norbert not playing any CCIW schools, and Illinois College and Knox representing the MWC in 5 of the contests I dont know if that is a fair represenation...

pgkevin, you lost me on what your beef is.  Counting the game already played, 4 of the 9 are against what will likely be the CCIW's two lowest teams - North Park and Millikin (and NCC was picked just above them - making 5 of 9 against the bottom 3 if the coach's poll pans out).

System Error

I understand that Gould from CU had a good game against North Park this weekend, however, I find it interesting that someone who averages 45 points in two games (Shotberg, I mean Grotberg) doesn't recieve the honor. I realize that Grinnell statistics are seen as somewhat inflated, but shooting 44% from the three point line as well as over 45% from the field, is quite impressive.

I myself at time am as fascinated as a I am disgusted by the system, but 90 points in a weekend regardless of opponent is extraordinary. Oh well, I digress. Perhaps shooting over 30 shots a game is all the love that Grotberg needs to get by.

Do any other Bible colleges want to play against "The System this year?"

Excuses? What excuses? I said that the CCIW was going to win the season series, didn't I? Or did the stuff that came before the ellipsis escape your attention when you read my post?

Exactly. I don't see what pgkevin's beef is, either.

And by the way, this ...

Quote from: Gregory Sager on November 24, 2008, 05:29:15 PMan NPU team that's been staggered by multiple injuries to the rotation.

... is not an excuse. It is what it is. Injuries are part of the game of basketball. You don't get an asterisk in the standings next to the L if you lose while a significant player or player is sitting on the sidelines in street clothes, nor do you get an asterisk next to the W if it's your opponent that is missing one or more key player(s).

I mentioned it only because PC threw down the gauntlet today and called out the CCIW in his post, which made my reply sort of a "we'll beat you with one hand tied behind our back" retort. ;)

Multiple cameras are fine if they all have a good picture and lighting. The center court camera was the only view to the game that qualified as having both.

As for the actual game itself. Both teams went through the motions. Lakeland hit 2 free throws in the waning seconds and Lake Forest didn't seem to know what to do about winning the game after that. Not even a half court prayer..................

Simply put, not good basketball on either side.

If you had read my post, it would not have escaped your attention that my concern wasn't with what you wrote prior to your ellipsis, it's what came after.  Predicting the season series is a good topic for conversation.  But prefacing every matchup that NPU has against the MWC with the injury crutch is an excuse.  Meaning, if they lose, you can always say "well they had a lot of injuries."  What else would that be called?  At least that's how I took it.

I'm mostly kidding around, but bring that CCIW noise to the MWC board and there isn't going to be a positive reaction.

The CCIW is better than the MWC this year. I would personally be surprised if the CCIW doesnt sweep the remaining games.

Gregory- Which games left do you expect the MWC to win to get to 3-4 wins? I am an MWC guy through-and-through, but I just dont see them being favored in any of these. Outside of Grinnell, the MWC is represented by the bottom of the barrell in these matchups.
