I am watching on MWCTV with the game muted...for a "smart" school, Lawrence has had no shortage of dumb kids to announce the past few years

Gosh, I've really gotta agree with you... I mean, the Point radio guys are homers, to be sure... but they don't sound nearly this bad!

Just catching the end of the game..LU spanking UWSP.  Nice to see they turned things around after the Marian Debacle.  I agree the announcers suck.  They have all sucked since that kid who graduated after the 04-05 season....

The first thing I heard
" He's crossing kids like Jordan"

???

Man I'm gonna have to listen all season on mute....arg

Larry,

The last thing I heard was "Matt Moses going to line to see if he can perform a few miracles."

and then after making the first free throw "Moses dropping free throws like manna from heaven."

Reading it hear, it actually sounds it could be comical, but trust me that it wasn't coming from these fine, young gentlemen

PC

Kudos to the original PC (Pat Coleman) on the scores...  getting any information off the MWC site this year is like... well I'm not sure what is is like, maybe the days before Al Gore invented the internet.

Greek Tragedy

Congrats to LU on the spanking of the Pointers.  You guys played real well.  As I posted before, they had that bad taste in their mouth from the Marian game and Point has been off for a week and a half.  Also to note, one of Point's best players, 3-pt expert Pete Rortvedt didn't play.  Starting forward Luis Hurd has also been out this year due to injury.  Regardless, Lawrence breaks the 18-game losing streak to the Pointers in style.

I wouldn't get too excited about it larryubb. "larry_u" did the games in the past and I think he and fightintitan2006 are just having you on. Then again I didn't listen so what do I know ??

PC, if you rely on the MWC site to give you scores you're better off checking next weeks paper.

Them's fighting words  :)

Ok larryubb, maybe I came off a bit harsh. You are right that it doesn't have to be serious all the time, but you and your partner came off to me like you were going for a cheech and chong meets beavis and butthead thing. Funny and clever are ok, but its not seinfeld, so don't spend the entire game trying to make each other laugh.

You also aren't announcing if you are reacting to a game like you would in the stands "What...where was that foul...what did he call...that was all ball...did he get part of his arm"

You are there and are supposed to provide insight to those of us who aren't.  Speak in sentences when you have a thought on what happened, not in fragments as you react to what is unfolding. I would recommend listening to a tape of your broadcast and keying in on how the pros do it when you watch basketball on TV.

Good luck the rest of the year

The Roop

For example: "There's a whistle on the play".  <pause> then tell whether there was a foul or not. Etc.

well thanks for the kind words on how to announce. However it is the MWC broadcast and not espn. We are two wrestlers who were chosen to do the job not basketball players. We happen to love seinfeld so thats what you might get sometimes. Plus i think there is a serious lack of sense of humor in the room. And i would thing that whoever said we are dumb "larry u " id say we are pretty clever for coming up with old testament analogies with players last names, but thats just me. whatever its cool , if you wanted some serious commentary you could have tuned into the pointer radio station were the professional was doin the play by play, he was sitting right next to me and doing a damn fine job. As im sure he has been doing the last 20 years hes been doing it. So next time when i announce my 4th LU game ever im still going to announce the way i have been, because im in college, have a maturity level of a college male, and a sense of humor that goes far beyond that of the people that watch and listen to webcasts and then post on internet forums at the same time......peace , im outta here

System Error

Peace, I'm outta here. Lol. Starting some sentences with capitals and some without. I wonder what the writing standards are at LU. I digress.

Does anyone find it interesting that Andy Horton, who does not recieve conference player of the week, is selected for D3Hoops Team of the Week. It does not bother me at all. After all, it is great publicity for the MWC. I just thought I would point it out to see if anyone else noticed it.

P.S. John Hoch for CU...Having a great season thus far.

We just took up nearly an entire page discussing various aspects of sack racing and there is a lack of humor in this room???

Good point Kevin...I also liked the inference that his sense of humor is better than those who watch webcasts and post on message boards simultaneously, but equal or lesser than a person who A) Watches the webcast only  B) Only posts on the message board   C) Watches the webcast in its in entirety and then posts on the message board
