Haven't posted in here for years but just wanted to say congratulations to the BEST COACH in USA South/Dixie history Coach K. He started his career in the conference by winning it and it's only fitting that he went out a champion. Can't thank that entire coaching staff enough for all that they have done for myself and my brothers alike during our time at CNU!

You were fun to watch as well!! Thanks!!!

Was hoping Mason Studer would have made TOW. Booted a 50 yarder and also pooched several kickoffs, 2 of them perfectly so that CNU could recover and another was recovered by CNU but player was out of bounds.

Will be nice to take a week off.....must be difficult to have a week of practice not knowing your opponent.

CNU85

Wesleydad, Are you lurking?

The prediction by d3football is that CNU could be heading to Dover......while it might be nice to see you.....I hope not!!! hahahaha

wesleydad

I saw that.  The projections are interesting.  The 500 mile rule makes a bad first round game between to low ranked teams and sends you guys to Wesley if that is how it plays out.  This is the best Wesley team I have seen since I started following them in 2005.  Really good on defense and offense is scary fast.  Would be a real tough draw for CNU.

Hawks88

Hawks lead the Bishops 20-14 at the half while having a turnoverfest in Rocky Mount. HC with 4 TO's and NCWC with 3. Ugly game.

Go Hawks!

Scots13

The streak continues in the Maryville/Methodist series. One point win for my boys in Fayetteville. 24-23.

Narch. tough loss for those kids. It lived up to the billing in my book.

TO THE HILL!

Hawks88

Final in Rocky Mount, Hawks win 37-20. Second half was much better than the first.

Hawks
I had to work all through the first half. My last call, the owner was watching the game on his I phone (really ;)) He said, "Doc, you heading home after you treat our goat ?"
"yep"
"I am getting this on Weslyan 's feed, better than ours"
soooooo, i pulled up at the house and pulled up thier web site, and watched the second half.

I thought we looked perty good ???

Not a bad season, and....who'd a thought a feller rural Chambers County would be watching Huntingdon beat the Bishops, beside a pasture, with a sick goat.
;)

Yep, we looked good in the first half too, except for putting the ball on the ground so much. Not sure where that came from but glad we got it straight after the half.
As I said last week, we had a lot of young guys making big contributions this year so if we can keep most of them around then I think we are set up for some good things the next couple of years.

Go Hawks!

mu and m'ville played a pretty classic game today...sorry it ended the way it did for those monarch seniors, especially the last play...mu flagged for excessive celebration after scoring a td with 5 seconds left, then the xp is a 35 yarder pulled left - instead of ot, the monarchs take the loss - i knew reber had some magic left, even though he had a tough day...i just knew he was going to pull that game out, but i guess it would have been too good to be true...tough loss

narch

the more i think about the end of the mu/m'ville game, the more disappointed i am...the officials called an unsportsmanlike on the monarchs for celebrating a td on the field, but when the monarchs missed the xp, m'ville was on the field celebrating and there was no flag...a flag there would have put the ball on the monarch 31 when mu got the ensuing onside kick...which is the exact spot that mu scored from with :05 left

m'ville also called 2 consecutive timeouts to "ice" ausherman on the xp...i thought a second timeout without any time running off the clock was supposed to be an unsportsmanlike penalty (or is it delay of game)? is this just in the nfl? everything i can find online suggests it's not legal in ncaa football, either

who knows what would have happened if the game had gone to overtime, but i hate that the officials played such a prominent role in the outcome...

Man, that's a tough way to end the game.  I've always thought the unsportsmanlike penalty for excessive celebration was a bit silly when you're talking about 18-22 year olds.
