first off...thanks for the co-championship, captains - if you had just upheld your end of the bargain LAST week, i'm convinced the monarchs would have won the coin toss...i think destiny would have intervened :)

mc completely dominated on both sides of the ball, giving up just 167 total yards and gaining 453 - rocket had a big first half with 220+ passing yards and 3 tds...finished with 279 - he IS the offensive POTY and i WISH i could see him play at least one more game - hill finished with 137 yards for the first 1000 yard season in monarch history (in 9 games, no less) - defense played extremely well, but honestly, su is horrible and i'm not sure how/why...they must have lost a LOT on the o-line, because frates & lacey looked average, at best

maybe, just MAYBE something will happen that will allow the monarchs to play again, but if not...congrats, boys - those seniors have gone through a lot to get to this point, and they deserve all of the accolades they get!

GO MONARCHS!!!!!!!

narch...nice prediction on the FC/CNU game.
Will you be toning down the green any time before the playoffs?

i'm going to say this, and i'm sure i'll get some of the ferrum boys fired up, but...i can't help but think the usasac is sending their 2nd best team to the playoffs, and not JUST because i'm a monarch fan...i just think that, with a healthy hill, the monarchs are a much more balanced team offensively than the panthers and, while the defense isn't exactly stellar, there are enough playmakers to keep the monarchs in most games - i know that mc had a lot of luck this season, pulling out wins @ averett and m'ville on final drives, but mc handled cnu (i know that was only a 7 point game, but the outcome was never really in doubt) and played ferrum to 5 points at ferrum, without mike hill, in a game that they played possibly their worst first half - it's REALLY a shame that these boys have probably played the last game of the season

the 14 seniors on this team left everything on the field, and it was good to see so many of them shine today - roncketti did his thing, eric staley scored a td, samuel alston got a pick as did jean-claude, max pope led all tacklers with 12 tackles and .5 sack, and delapp and willis kept guys off roncketti and hill allowing them to have a big day...most of the other seniors played a role on special teams, etc. - the only senior that didn't play a role today was irrington roberts, who was in jeans on the sideline...tough way to end your career, but he's been a good one for the monarchs - these guys have been through some serious adversity both on and off the field, and to see them win a co-championship is nice, but it's bittersweet because i'd like to see what they could do in the playoffs against a quality opponent, playing the way they are right now...they'd put a scare in that first round opponent, without question - i hope all of those underclassmen see how close the monarchs got this year and work THAT MUCH HARDER in the off-season to take the next step...i, for one, don't want this to be a one-and-done run at the ncaa tournament and i hope they don't either

Abngr,
Toughest year I have ever seen with a program...Offensively just not enough...Too many mistakes and Defensively we had so many young kids out there...Need some kids in the ranks to step up and become leaders....I saw three of the games this year..The one positive is the Lowe kid, He had a pretty good year..Now we have to build on that.

fayetteville observer game story - i heard coach sy tell the banner story on the radio post-game - rocket suggested they buy a blank banner and put it up in the locker room since football was the only mc team w/o a banner in the riddle center (the banners show conference, regional, and national titles) - the boys got to see that thing and think about putting something on it every day...it worked :)

Narch a lot can be argued about this season.  Bottom line is the Captain fans feel that if the same team that COMPLETLY DOMINATED THE PANTHERS and shut your Monarchs out in the second half would have showed up in previous conference games. CNU would have been undefeated and headed to its 5th playoff apperance. But bottom line is Ferrum got the AQ and we all will have to become Panther fans for a while.

Narch this was my point earlier when me and Mosh got into it. CNU losses to Methodist, in turn CNU gets a Mosh bashing. Then we lose to AU, Mosh pours a little more salt into an open wound. CNU clobbers a Panther team riding a high horse because they are 9-0 and we hear nothing from him.

Narch didn't I tell your boy Rocket to go ahead and get sized for that ring. ;) and the Monarchs are welcome, no one will win a out right championship until CNU does.  ;D

monarch fans feel that if mc had played as aggressively on offense in the 2nd half, the score of that game may have been 49-28...bottom line, the monarchs were flat-out better than cnu that day

i don't recall you congratulating mosh when gc got their lone victory (against su, no less) - gc or mc or su or au or fc or ncwc or mvc fans are not OBLIGATED to give cnu any love when they win

And Wesley it is for the Ferrum-ites. Good luck Saturday, represent the conference to the best of your abilities and beat Wesley.

Ahhh, but Narch...you didn't see CNU fans on here talking about how GC sucks everytime they lost either. You missed the point finest was making....Mosh only opened his mouth when CNU lost. He said nothing to any other team that lost. He was 'picking" on CNU and deserved the comebacks he brought on himself. Comments when talking about teams in the conference..he posted a weakness and strength for each team...his CNU comment - "who cares". Then there was the "joke" Go CNU...go to hell.....  Nice. When Mosh was a player, I respected him and his comments and even said so on here. Now he has issues and mouths off way too much and is so negative it's sad.
