On the ESPNews broadcast, Pat said that if Wesley and UMHB win, the game will be at Wesley.

Ahhh, but Narch...you didn't see CNU fans on here talking about how GC sucks everytime they lost either.
ahh, but '85....gc losing isn't a big deal...it happens frequently and they aren't the 4 time defending champs  ;D

Thanks CNU85, for some reason everytime I post something it seems to fly right over Narch's head.

What do other people think about the Ferrum, Wesley game. I thought Bwater would have been a more interesting game.

85,

Cry me a river.  Dont really care if you ever respected me.  Dont care at all.  Possilby I could have been tainted by some of your fans that just rub me the wrong way.  And Im probally wrong for associating them for the program.  but that is just how it is.

Anyways,

Olinemom

Narch--congrats on Methodist being Co-champs.  I think that the coach should bring his players up to the Stagg Bowl as it is so close to Salem.  That's what Coach Clark and the Eagles did in 2000 and they were there in 2001.  When you are at the game, you see what the best teams are doing.  You know what you are capable of and you see what they are doing.  It helps you to better prepare for the following year and make specific goals.  It's really too close not to come.  Our team did not make it last year, but Stone Station was there where we partied with both lLinfied and UMHB fans.  In fact, I had prmised the UMHB team that if they went up to Mount Union and beat them at home, I would come to Salem, cheer for them and bring them brownies  My word is good, and the kids and their parents told me that the brownies were delicious as well.  They were kind of surprised really, but hey, Virginians are known for their hospitality.  Stone Station has already made plans to be at the Stagg Bowl.  I personally can't wait.  But first we have to get through this Saturday game with W&J.  Narch, hopefully you can come to Salem as well.  We're the tailgate under the while tents with the huge sign "Stone Station" and having a grand old time.
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

We did, too. but the NCAA had other plans so W&J is coming to town.  With our former QB as one of their coaches.  Should be interesting.

Im shocked at Wesley hosting if they and UMHB wins. I thought and figured that game would be in Texas, its definitely a flight for someone.

dude, i think you're the one that's got stuff flying over your head - i understand EXACTLY what you're saying, but you don't seem to understand what i'm saying...fans of other schools in this conference generally don't like cnu for a multitude of reasons...they've dominated the conference the last 4 years, they are a public school in a private school conference, a number of the fans and players talk a lot of trash, etc, etc, etc - when cnu loses, these fans find great pleasure in "rubbing salt in the wounds", as you say - it's like when the yankees lose...tons of people are coming out of the woodwork bashing the bombers...why? because they've got it all and they flaunt it - cnu is to the usasac what the yankees are to mlb...get it?  did that one fly low enough to sink in? - personally, i'd LOVE IT if more fans of other teams celebrated monarch losses...that would mean that mc had arrived and had become the team everyone was gunning for

narch

olinemom - thanks, but i had nothing to do with any of the monarch's wins...i'm just a fan :) - i'm sure the coaches and players will appreciate your sentiments, though - the trip to salem is one that i've contemplated on numerous occassions...i just need to make it happen one year, but i'd prefer to go when the monarchs are playing :) - i've talked to one of our assistants about the exact thing you mention...taking the team to the game - it's tough, logistically, because mc typically finishes exams prior to the stagg bowl, making it tough to get guys together as a team

Insideslant/D

;) Congrats to FERRUM on being the best team in the conference, only by record.  I've seen you play and you were much more competitive in the past.  As I was walking into the game, you panthers were leaving from your pregame warm ups and I sized you guys up and right then I new I had made a bad prediction, and that was "your guys will be hard to beat up in the mountains" :D Now having had said all of that, I mention to a defensive linemens dad after the game, who was a Big 10 player and has a Super Bowl ring, "I hope you guys don't have to travel very far, so it won't have to be a long ride home ;D That is my prediction on the Wesley game with Ferrum 8) :-X A thump up to FC, you guys used to rule the conference, thats why I respect you as a competitive force. :-X My prediction for the 06 year, CNU goes 10 in the conference. By guys you contienue to fight it out with each other, while you still mature. By until 2006 season ;)

narch –

Now I understand why I like the Yankees.  Thanks for the comparison, that's quite a compliment.

I usually don't post on this board because I'm more a CNU basketball fan than CNU football, but I think that you're just sore because Pat didn't talk about your precious private school on ESPN this afternoon, and instead decided to mention CNU.  That must have hurt.  You're right; it is good to be king.

drunken sailor

congrats to ferrum and goodluck.  slant d??? did they guy you talked to play for the steelers?
Can I have ten thousand marbles please.....

j - no soreness toward cnu...i haven't really talked badly about cnu in some time (other than to point out the obvious flaws in the cnu english dept. when reading posts from current and former capts :)) - i was simply pointing out why SOME OTHER fans may react the way they do - i didn't see the selection show as i was outside w/ the kids (i thought i had it tivo'd, but it didn't record) so i'm  not sure what the context was, but cnu has won 4 straight titles...they deserve the recognition they get on every level - besides, the monarchs were clearly better than cnu this season, so i have no reason to be bitter

p.s. - i'm a huge yankees fan, too, so i can understand what cnu fans feel like when they lose...i simply like to point out that there are AT LEAST 26 reasons to like the yanks ;) - maybe finest could adapt a similar approach, rather than threatening to beat those who talk a little smack about cnu up
