I'm hoping you guys stay in Alabama, but not in Montgomery.  ;)

I would expect a much better game the second time around, and y'all will give us our home game we were supposed to have last season.

That indeed is the projection by the D3fb braintrust.

Congrats to BSC for getting into the playoffs.

I sure hope The Hawks can have a better showing against BSC than we did earlier this year. They didnt appear to have much weaknesses and were dominant in the game with us.

I was finally able to go see Methodist play this season live and in person (youth sports take most Saturdays which is a good problem to have).  First thing the lights are a nice addition.  I made a huge difference in the atmosphere in my opinion.  I know the score was lopsided but it is amazing how one play can change a game.  Methodist went into half up 17-7.  The second half started with a trade of punts.  NCWC started their second possession on their own 1 after a great punt by Methodist.   The Battling Bishops took and marched the ball to first and goal at the 2.  A TLF on a run play backed them up to second and goal at the 4.  NCWC threw an out ball which a Monarch FR DB jumped and picked off at the 1 yard line.  Methodist took and marched 99 yards (a 69 yard catch and run made it a little easier) to score making it 24-7 and they never looked back.  That was a 10-14 point swing on that pick.  Methodist could not stop the run but it never seemed to matter.

Congratulations to Huntingdon.  A rematch from week 2 awaits.  I believe Huntingdon has improved a ton since that game.  For the Hawks to win this time they need to limit/eliminate the turnovers and stop/slow down BSU rushing attack.  GO HAWKS!

Yeah the second half of the first meeting was arguably the worst half in our program's history. I guess some of the early games in the first season in 2003 could've had similarities but none of those had any significance of a big rivalry game. We're definitely looking for a better performance in our 'do-over' this week.

Go Hawks!

I expect a much better game this time around.  Huntingdon couldn't hang on to the ball in the first game, I expect that to be much different this time.  Although if you want to play it the same way, I'm ok with that too.

How many Hawks fans headed to BHM this weekend???

Considering the good turnouts we had at Berry in '17 and '19 I expect us to have a big crowd for this one. Do you know if BSC is bringing in extra seating?

I wish we would.  We need permanent stands in the visitors side anyway.  For games with y'all, LaGrange, Berry and Suwanee we could for sure use them.  I really liked Berry's home stadium set up, if we could somehow match what they have going on I'd be happy.

They had visitors seating early on. Never knew why they got rid of it.

I used to love going to B-SC and parking my old motorhome on the hill behind the endzone and tailgating with the family once or twice a year. Then they started selling those spots and, since I really have no connection to B-SC, it was no longer worth it. But I agree, that stadium needs some seating on the visitor side. Especially since the band takes up a good bit of the stadium seating anyway.

We no longer have a band..... We have had high band at one game, and a what looked like a basketball pep band at a game.  Hopefully with us making the playoffs this season, especially if we can make a run, the school will see fit to restart the band and some stadium updates.  All it really takes is someone donating the money for it.

All-Conference teams came out.  Congratulations to all those honored.  I was pretty close on my predictions.  Cotney won OPOTY, Crank won OROTY, Canady won DPOTY, and I missed the DPOTY which went to Grady from LaGrange.  The inaugural special teams player of the year went to Praylow from Methodist.  No surprise as to the coach of the year in Turk from Huntingdon.  Of the 51 players honored (there are 52 on the team but Praylow from Methodist was a RET and a WR nomination) 23 were seniors, 17 were juniors, 7 were sophomores, and 4 were freshman.

Huntingdon led the way with 12 selections compromised of 7 first team and 5 second team with 7 coming from the offensive side.
Methodist was next with 11 selections (10 players) 6 first team and 5 second team with the bulk on offense again with 6 selections.
Averett was next in line with 10 selections 6 first team and 4 second team with 6 selections on defense and 3 WRs.
Brevard had 8 selections 5 first team and 3 second team with 6 on defense.
NCWC had 4 all on the second team with 3 coming from the offensive side.
LaGrange had 3 with 2 coming on the first team and 1 on the second team.
SOVA had 2 selections then Maryville and Greensboro had one each.

Of note returning:
Huntingdon returns a trio of offensive skill in QB (JR), RB (SO), and WR (JR) along with an OL, LB, and S
Methodist returns a trio of offensive skill as well in QB (SO), RB (S), and WR (JR) along with 2 OL but only one on D a CB
Averett only returns one OL and one DL
Brevard also hit hard by graduation only returns a RB and a LB
Every other squad returns their all-conference performers

Temporary bleachers have been brought in for this game.  I'm expecting a huge crowd tomorrow on the Hilltop.  Maybe this will jumpstart a campaign to get more permanent stadium seats built.

Congrats to BSC on the win today. I thought we did a lot of the things we needed and played well enough to win but a couple of mistakes were enough to make the difference. The missed FG in the second followed by the bad turnover right at the end of the first half that basically gave BSC 7 points was pretty much the difference. Of course there was also the BSC interception at the goal line early in the second where the DB committed blatant PI(big two handed shove of the WR) that wasn't called was a big swing in momentum. But sometimes you get the calls and sometimes you don't. We just didn't do quite enough to get the win.

Go Hawks!

It was a good game.  I was expecting a better game then the first time we played, and that's what we got.  The refs kept the flags in their pockets for most fo the game, let the boys play.  Our defense won this game for us today.  Our offense just couldn't put the game away they have most of the season.

Y'all's QB was a handful all day.  Holding call on a QB run for a TD that got called back hurt you guys as well.

I was worried after you guys nearly broke the opening kickoff, but still drove for a quick TD that we were going to fall on our face.  But BSC responded with a TD of their own to even it out and I think that helped the guys settle into the game.

Good crowd, beautiful day for football and didn't see any major injuries.  See you guys in September, same field, same result.   ;D
