besides, reading the way rocket and admiralpapi and mc55ol write gives me faith that wilk was the exception rather than the rule...can you say the same about the cnu players/former players?

Okay Narch what have we done besides have a little fun on the board whether it was bragging, talking trash to other teams, or group bashing people that try to be little our school. First of all Rocket and mc55ol come on here and give their little opinions on things and then they leave for a while and I can respect that. But lets be honest about the situation, what could they brag about on this board before this year. It is easy for fans and ex players to talk trash, dominate all discussions, etc... when your team is on top. If you need an example just take a look at SU fans and the Odac board. Last season their fans talk like they were the best thing since sliced bread. Where is redkite, rumplestilken, and Uncle Jessie now, before their 1-9 season they always had something to say whether it was negative or positive. Then take a glance at the ODAC board 5-6 years ago Bwater football program was a joke. After 5 straight ODAC titles and their fans would make you think they never had a losing season. I mean for the most part they have a lot of nice fans but I dare you to go over there and say something bad about their team and they will GO OFF. Believe me I know when we beat them in 03 yeah they gave us our congrats, some fans said "Oh well we played horrible and still had a chance at the end" then O Lord we got it bad from their poster when they beat us in the playoffs. Then the words flukes, CNWho, etc... dominated the USA South board. So don't give me that stuff that Adimarlpapi, Rocket, and MC55ol write so well and post so humble crap. NOT TO SAY THAT THEY ARE IN FACT BAD GUYS, but they only post 2-4 sentences max on here and even the great NARCH makes grammtical errors from time to time.

And now that I think about it even you got a little boastful after the success the Monarchs just had. If memory serves me correctly you told a FC poster that "MC would be the better playoff fit because they are a more balanced team and that they didn't lose 44-7 to the 4th placed team in the conference". And then there was the CNU fan that ticked you off and then you didn't hesitate to state that "MC was clearly the better team on that day and if they didn't go conservative the final score could have been 40 plus to 28. Even though you are a grammer genuis if I was a Panther fan I would have took offense to some of your comments. MC could have easily lost 3 games this year BUT THEY DIDN'T SO NOW YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU WANT BECAUSE THEY ARE CO-CHAMPS but you cannot for one minute think that they are that much better than anyone else.  ;)

for one thing let me address the ALLEGED "sharpie" incident 4 years ago. we all were sniors then and we saw what happened. what people didnt know is that the chargeswere dropped because they could not prove anything else and the kid was lying through his teeth, it did not happen that way.

Congratulations to the seniors at MC, fellas heck of a way to go out. We have been through a lot, but cam together.

I will say one thing about CNU, the only person on  that team with class is Justin Wood. All game he never said a word t noone, when he would get blocked he wold say nice jo at the end, turn aorund and go back to the huddle. As for the rest of theteam, they like to talk some smack, even when they are loosing. Its ok though, part of the game. I must say that he has my vote for sportsmanship though. Daryl lawerence from methodist is another. Im not just sayin that because he was yeammate, the kid had class on and off the field.

Mc55, hey man, call me sometime get up here.

narch, great jobthis season on posts, that is what this board iqs about, what you have done all season. ept stats and asked people to talk and give input. Great job, sounds like you could have a SID job if others didnt work out for ya.

mc55ol

Swish3....come on man that was low!

MCol51: Good to hear from you, but read you posts next time!! Olineman already have a bad name, haha.

Congrats to Woods, he is a player, there is no question about that.  He should have a blast at that game.

cnusfinest: Lets not make the mistake of me being humble, but i have been with MC through it all(The good the bad and the very bad!)

mcol51 - great season, great career...thanks for the fun, especially the last 2 years - you guys (the ol) were a big reason for the success the monarchs had the last 2 years, and i, for one, appreciate the work you do without the hype that other o-lines in the conference get - cnusfinest doesn't think that the mc line is underrated, yet a team that gave up just 9 sacks in two seasons and was one of the most effective offenses in the conference over that same time period, had just one 1st team all-conference player in the last 2 years...that tells me you guys work well as a unit and really maximize your talents as a group

finest - our back-and-forth is getting a bit childish - can we agree to disagree and leave it at that? - you're a captain fan, i'm a monarch fan...we'll probably never see things the same way  ;)

for what it's worth, though, i certainly wasn't the only one that thought the postings on this board this summer were bad

Been a year or two since I've posted....this board got kind of ridiculous.  I got pretty embarrassed with some of the CNU posters.

MCol51

i appreciate it narch. it has been a struggle thats for sure. I mean freshman year when everything was against us we come out and have a decent season, but nothing worth shouting about. Then as our juniopr year approached, we all agreed to have a great season as a team. We did just that and came together and that season just opened it up to the season we had this year.

You know thats the good thing about playing for Coach Sypult though, not many people acknowledge the oline and how hard we work. He always told us we were the reason we get things going, and our coach was another one. I read through the post that Finest had written where he said we were overrated and it was our offensive skeem that let rocket get out of the pocket and scramble.

We were the most underrated offensive line inthe line and we were short, noone thought we would be able to run the ball, i say this to whoever said that, 2,000 yards on the ground isnt bad! Then the throwing game, its very interesting to me that we overrated, considering we only gave up 5 sacks this year. We pride ourselves for pass blocking, every lineman does this or you should, it should be a part of your game that you should have joy in. Coach Funderburk did this and we were ready this year. As far as the all-conference thing goes, you know we dont have a say-so in the matter, the coaches pick and thats it. But you said yourself, its the hardest position to judge all-conference lineman unless you watch them on film. Good job on the picks this year and good luck to everyone in the future.

Yeah I know but I didn't want to get anything started.  ;D As far as smack talk goes we all do it and more so when we are winning.  I can remember in 04, MC fans, JV players, and V players alike talked a lot of smack during and before that game. Personally I enjoyed every minute of the hostile environment. We had lost to SU and Methodist thought that we had a major chink in our armour. When MC got that pick on CNU's first drive and proceeded to drive it down the field on the Captain D, the whole placed erupted. But you will be surprised what a team OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhh OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhh OOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhh WHO CNU will do to a ball club.

Okay let me start by saying the J Wood is a great player who works hard and deserves every award he will recieve this year. But I played with the guy for 3 good years and Wood for one HATES GETTING BLOCKED as does any good defender and lets just say he talks the talk on the field but he can walk it. Im sorry but there are not to many Tim Duncan's in football.

Yeah Narch I will agree that some of the post over the summer got a bit out of hand but so what. No one has ever gotten physically hurt from a post, an opinion is simply what it is. As far as the MC line being underrated, I never said that they were not good. Only giving up 9 sacks in two years is great but lets look at something else. How many big games against good teams have they dominated in the past few years. You talk about them only giving up 9 sacks, then in my book they should have been able to pass over everyone because the Rocket had great pass pro. Then you state from time to time that their running game is very effective but yet in the last few years they have not dominated big games with the run. Ex. If MC got extremely conservative up 35-14 against CNU, I don't see any reason why behind a dominate pass pro oline and effective run blocking team could not find some way to back into the endzone.

reccespynav

Hello..hello.  Is this thing on?

cnu85

Ouch - just saw the FC score. But then I again I think I posted someting about the game would be similar to the CNU - Widener game a few years back. Even so - great overall year for FC! They are the defending champs going into next year! That's something CNU can't say! FC could take a page out of the schedule book from CNU and AU....that's the way to get better!!

Ralph Turner

reccespynav, did you catch any ASC football?

narch

ferrum - great season...sorry it had to end that way, for everyone (including the conference) - being outscored 103 -21 the last 2 weeks isn't the way fc envisioned ending their season, i'm sure

abnrgr

You know its hard to pull for 2 teams (ala Wesley and Ferrum) you hated when you were in college because it was always a brutal game with them but I am sorry the Black Hats got planked. Hey you guys were in the SHOW. Be happy :)

I saw the score on ESPN 1 so hey you can't complain
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

Ferrum found themselves in the deep end of the pool right off the bat today.  Couldn't hold on to the football early on, killed them in the end.

Even with the mistakes, Wesley still would have beat them by a bunch.  Early mistakes faded and Ferrum settled down, but still couldn't get the ball rolling.

Allen C

I was there, and it was ugly. Not as many penalties as against CNU, but just as dominated.
Good to see the good turnout by the Ferrum fans! Long time coach Hank Norton was there, as was Chris Warren

Glad they got to the tournament. While I will always be a Panther fan, they do seem somewhat one dimensional. Hopefully next year, they can improve their overall speed, both offensively and defensively. They need to build on this years success, and come out stronger next year.

Overall its been a rewarding year, and I will take solice in the fact that they made the field of 32.

Onward and Upward Panthers!   Thanks for a great season!

.
No doubt about that....they have to minimize mistakes among other things, in order to be a serious contender.

GREAT YEAR PANTHERS THANKS!! I am Proud to be a fan!
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!
