Mosh - probably . . .I only had to ask three different people, but the dude on the treadmill was the one that got me there . . . was that you?     If it was, it got me there, but the guys had decided not to throw that afternoon.  But thanks for the directions . . . knowing to turn at the porno shop really helped!!
Hey Mosh, do you use porno shops as landmarks every time you give directions?  Only kidding!   Hope the Pride has a much better season this year - except, of course, on Sept. 30 out on West Friendly Avenue!  :)

You have to stick with what you know and if it works then go back to it twice.

D3Newbie,
Yeah I was the oldtimer on the treadmill.  Your kid has a good background so that should help out.  I was looking at some stats the other day.  The offense had some pretty decent production last year.  The problems last year came from a really young defense. ( the defense in the USA South took a step back although I do think that methodist and averetts defenses improved from 03, when i was playing)

with  the tools that gc has this upcoming season that the will win at least 5 d3 this games this season.

Sidenote, this board gets a little vicious as the season gets closer.  If people know who your son is they are sure to take some jabs at you.  Also, I think all of the coaches and a few of your sons teamates conf check this site, so you have to be cautious of what you say.

Mosh - thanks for a good laugh today!  GC1 & GC2 had a good crowd (3800) for the Soup Bowl last fall at Grimsley - I hope we have a really nice turnout at Guilford on Sept. 30!

Mosh - Thanks for the good advice. I don't think I ever would say anything negative about anything anyway, but there are probably some that will rag on me now matter what. Maybe I'll be getting a different screen name soon.

BTW, here's one more website, and then I won't be saying anything about him. This one has videos.

And from the little I've been able to read and hear about, this season should be a lot more fun than last. I know he's excited about next year, the offense and his teammates - he loves the school and the coaches. I just wish he had gone to GC right out of HS - now he's only got two years of eligibility left!

AdmiralPapi

Hey mosh did you see where the University of Tenessee showed up at GC to practice and were told to leave because they were at the wrong school (they were supposed to be at UNCG)

I am in ST Louis at USTRANSCOM attempting to get more control of the USCG. ;)You know USNORTHCOM has to have COMPLETE control. Trying to get more $$ for MIST Teams too. More shooters; more fun!!

You know if you tell somebody not to go out in the ocean and they go out then they need to drown instead of risking about 50 other lives and about 50 million in hardware. But that's just me huh?

We got to get together for the MC-GC-Q or the Mullet bucket this year

Just was wondering what everyones impression was of Maryville's first year in USA South. I know that they did not have a very impressive record, yet I thought that they were competitive in all but one of their conference games (CNU). They did however finish the season strong by taking Methodist to the wire, and by beating Shenandoah and Huntingdon on the road.

d3newbie - just finished reading all of the information on your son...he seems like an outstanding student-athlete - how did he wind up at gc?  no offense, but it seems like there would have been some other opportunities to play for a winning program along the way...why a team that has never had a winning season and is coming off a 1-9 campaign vs. a team like, say, mc which is coming off a conference co-championship, runs the spread option (which seems suited to your boys talents) and has had a winning record in 4 of the last 6 years?  did he look at any of the area d2's like wingate, lrc or catawba?

Greensboro is the future of the USAC.

That is probally why...Just my guess...

If you live in the past, the future is going to go by real fast narch.

Im looking forward to this years game

Mosh...all this hard work trying to find a DC job must have rendered you temporarily insane!   :D

Apparently I got my answer on what everyone thought of Maryville's first year in the conference. The lack of posts and thoughts tells me that no one thinks enough of them to even reply. I have been reading this forum ever since Maryville became a member, and have really enjoyed everyones views. There are some people who really have a great knowledge of the game. As a former player at Maryville I was just curious to what everyone thought of their play. I believe that they were at times competitive, and at other times showed their youth and the fact that they are still learning what it takes to compete and be a winning team. Any thoughts????????
