I was the fastest man alive when I played!

But I think you gain speed with age

abnrgr

Yes MOSH. Didn't they call you the "SILKWORM MISSLE"?  ;)

Here comes Narch with a spelling lesson.

Season is creeping on us.

Fellow posters: I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying summer. I also hope that everyone's respective teams are working hard to improve themselves. I personally have always believed that you win football games by what you do in the off- season. I am optimistic that the USA South will be even more competitive this season. After reading the news about the Conference looking to add schools it reminds me of my commment about combining the Great South and USA South. I would personally like to see Maryville, for their sake, be able to join the conference in every sport. Just Two more months till Camp.

Hello Everyone: I hope that you all are having a great Memorial Day. I would like to personally Thank all of our Country's Armed Services personel (current and former) for all that they have done and will continue to do. Please take a moment today to remember our Armed Services personel. If you known one personally or just happen to see one tell them how much they are appreciated.

Admiral Papi (I'm sure he does if he is not throwing up over the side of his vessel) and I appreciate it. I'm sure there are some other Vets on the board that keep it to themselves.

Kudos to the vets,

Football and Lacrosse, two best sports ever invented!  Is it to early for predictions?

Mosh,
I believe that there is great talent in the USA South. With that being said I think that it could be anybody's to win or lose on any given Sat. Until somebody can step up I think that Ferrum, CNU, and Methodist will be the teams with the best chance to win the conference. Yet, I also think there are several teams that can sneak up including Averett, NC Wes, Greensboro, and of course Maryville. These teams must learn to finish and how to turn close losses into wins.

ODU is officially fielding a football team in Norfolk starting in 2009. They last had a team in 1940. They will be 1-AA. I'm assuming it will be scholarship. How will this affect this board, if at all? some of my thoughts:

recruiting of local 757 kids....another option if they want to stay at home and not consider CNU and don't have the grades for W&M.

Matt Kelchner - new ODU head coach? pure speculation, but he would be a good fit. He has coached 16 years at the 1-AA level before becoming HC at CNU. He knows how to start up a program from scratch and be succesful.

just some thoughts - start throwing darts!

I have also wondered about ODU's football program and its impact on CNU. I do know that ODU women's hoops coach Wendy Larry is excited about it as hoops recruits like the college football atmosphere on Saturday's.

ABN...you know I'd never get sick but we've certainly had nasty enough weather for it around here lately.

Narch, did any of the fellas stay around to work out for the summer.  Did any one of the QB's distance himself from the others as the front runner for the starter going into camp this summer?
