Thats alright. You're getting your name out there. Don't worry about jumping to the next level for a couple of years. Remember the assistants do not get paid that well (unless you are at LSU). I remember some 70-80 weeks at Lees-McRae and that was the early 90's. 13-17K a year for an asst with a room. Ouch.  It's a good thing I had that underwear gig with GQ.

Work on a head job at the level your at. That will get you a chance at a coordinator job at the D-2 or better. You remember the grad assistants at MC? Jeeez I know they were smoked.

I know college is for an A-type personality like yourself. Hang in. Your still a youngster...... right?

Abngr,

Still a youngin I guess.  I was offered the Head Lacrosse/ Asst Football Coach at Ronald Regan High School Friday.  I have to choose that or going after a Defensive Cordinator Job at Williamston (1a in open country)
I guess the college game will have to wait a few years.

At least Ill be able to catch a few games at Wake or in Greensboro this year.

Summers starting to smoke up a little.  Anybody been rafting in that flood water latley?

mosh - i've never heard of rr high school, so i googled them - looks like the facility was opened in oct. 2005?  there is something to be said for morale at a place like that - when you're working (and taking classes) in a nice, shiny, modern building, i think people seem happier - i've never been in williamston hs, but i can't imagine it's as nice a rrhs seems on the web - besides, the triad is your stomping grounds and i would think hc experience, even in another sport, can't hurt - i don't think you can go wrong, though, because being a dc can be great training, too - good luck

Narch makes a good point.

Head coach is head coach. Nothing like being the boss.

I noticed the 'happier" phenomenon at a Carteret County school....Croatan?. I forget its name, but everyone seemed very pleased to be in that environment.

Another thought.......I have always noticed that I was happier with a male principal. Not so much hand wringing and uh.....anal retentiveness was missing from that situation.

Thanks for the insight.

Im definatley leaning towards RR.  Tough choice though since being a D cord is a goal of mine.  I think the Forsyth Schools pay on a higher scale than most NC Schools.

Ronald Reagan HS has been there a couple of years now - lots of new housing in western Forsyth County near Winston-Salem.  If fact, my great niece will be a freshman there next fall.

yeah, croatan is a beautiful facility, and it doesn't hurt that it's about 100 yards from the croatn (i think) sound...not a bad view

i think jack britt and gray's creek are similar situations here in cumberland county...folks out there just seem to be happier...something to think about

AdmiralPapi

Narch, its just inside of Bogue sound which separates Bogue Banks (Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Pine Knoll Shores, Salter Path...) from the Morehead City/Cape Carteret Area.

Croatan definitely has the best facilities in the county.  A lot of money lives near that school.  It also has MC alum David Foster coaching there.  They have a pretty football friendly principal there also, but East Carteret has the most football/athletic friendly principal in Carteret County in Ralph Holloway.

Ralph Holloway is at East Carteret? He was at Kinston right? If it is the same Ralph....he is a professional. He calls a good game.

I believe he coached at Kinston...we stole him from West Carteret where he was their athletic director.  He has been awesome for all of EC's sports programs.

New Hanover and Page have been calling the last two days.

Seems like my stock is going up

AdmiralPapi

Mosh, you'd love New Hanover....3 blocks away from downtown Wilmington...Never a dull night down there!

Narch, they closed down front street brewery  :-\

papi - i knew that wasn't the croatan sound (does such a thing even exist), but i flaked on the bogue sound...front street closing is a travesty...i'd like the entire board to observe a moment of silence for the death of a great brew-pub

wow...that breaks me up - i could subside on the pretzels and the raspberry wheat - is there anything similar replacing front street in downtown, or will i have to head out to the martini place on wrightsville bch to imbibe in a laid back atmosphere?

mosh - nh is a great place - fantastic athletes (especially in baseball...trot nixon is a nhhs alumn), adequate facilities, and just blocks from the 2nd best downtown atmosphere in nc (behind uptown charlotte) - there are just a few attractive ladies in the wilmington area, too, and wrightsville is 15 minutes away...i know what MY choice would be :)

AdmiralPapi

Narch,  no Croatan sound exists...at least not in NC.  Croatan HS sits in the middle of Croatan National Forest.
As of the last time I was down there nothing had move into front street's spot.  There's a few spots dowtown with a more laid back atmosphere...next time your in town let me know and we'll check them out.  I'd invite ABN but he'd probably drink both of us under the table  ;D
