Papi
I had my first college (JC) sack at Chowan but that was 1975. (was that the year you were born  ;) )The QB and me both got hurt by the turf.  :)The field was miserable.

Abn...that was 5 years before I was born, but I bet the same turf you hit that day was the same turf I hit 25 years later!

The New York Times ran an article on why schools start football programs.  Shenandoah is cited heavily for those who are interested.

You'll probably need your own log-in, but the process is free and quick.

The Pride and Quakes go big

100 points get scored in this game if Rocket's minion is trained to standard. Or Vogelbach does not ride a mortorcycle without  an helmet which I am sure Kesler is in is pockets.

Aw I am starting to get a plumpie (semi at 50)with the sights of helmets being cleaned up.

I got to run into Fleet Admiral  Papi in Fayettenam.............or at harker's island son

Abngr,

I met Kelser yesterday while working at my summer job.  This is tough to say because Im a fan of the pride, but he seemed like a pretty good guy.

Defense is the name of the game.

So far, so good for Kevin Kiesel at Guilford.  Needless to say, 5-5 (4-2 ODAC) last year was a BIG improvement over 2004's 1-9, 1-5 (the seventh straight losing season for the Quakers, by the way).  With nice improvements to facilities, a good recruiting year and almost everyone coming back, expectations are high this fall.  I could be off base, but I'm looking for about 6-8 wins in 2006.  I think the Defense will be improved and I hope the Offense will click much like last year.  Of course, opposing Defenses now know what to expect!  Four early games versus the USASAC, so we'll soon see.  Go Quakers!

football season is just around the corner...just purchased my d3football.com kickoff preview...can't wait to check it out!

CNU85

Narch - it is right around the corner.....just purchased my season tickets this afternoon (ticket prices are reasonable.....just gotta contribute to the Captian Crew...you can call me Vice Admiral CNU85 from now on!!!).....can't wait to see the Mary Hardin Baylor game!! Another tough non conference schedule for CNU! And the conference teams proved last year they can shut down CNU. I would think the team(s) that make the post season should be prepared to compete. The conference is getting a little more mature and a lot better.

MOSH- Keisler needs to be GOOD to win there.

CNU85-As it is said a team never makes a greater leap in improvement all year than from the 1st to the 2nd game. Too bad you cannot catch them on game 2. Tough teams bring out the best sometimes.

abnrgr - At least Kevin Kiesel has a fighting chance to recruit with changes to the stadium.  Mike Ketchum didn't.  They always say the new coach gets what the old coach needed.  I think everyone will admit Armfield Stadium was out of synch with modern facilities.  Finally, it has decent quarters for the press, coaches and video crews.  Things have also improved for the spectators with refurbished seats (plus 176 new seats), restrooms in the stadium (what a concept! lol) and a new scoreboard.  Now, if they'll just find some money to upgrade the visitor's side and build a fieldhouse, we're there!  lol  I'm going to a cookout and walk-through for football alumni and Quaker Club members July 18.  When I get a closer look at the weight room, locker room and press box, I'll give you a report.

lol  True.  If anyone knows what a football team (and head coach) needs, it would be Marion Kirby!  I give President Chabotar a lot of credit for improving facilities as well ... and the folks they asked for money (including me).  lol

Mosh - are you going to make it to the Soup Bowl this year?  Sept. 30 at Guilford.  Pat Cummings said he was going to try to cover the game.
