I completely agree that a 3rd string offense scoring on a run play is hardly running the score up. The opportunity to get these guys on the field is invaluable. The fact that they scored is more of a reflection on SU's poor defense rather than running up the score. There's no crying in football!

Uncle Jessie sounds like a sore loser. You could probably make the same observations about the CNU game. The Captains literally has 5th string players in late in the game and they continued to score.  Players were swapping jersies to get in the game. This is football and some one will always have their feeling hurt. I hate it when some one is essentially asking for an opposing team to take it easy on them. What's next, don't hit/tackle so hard...

I've seen some crazy game ending plays that generated talk, but this is definitely NOT one of them.

Shenandoah punted to BC from their own 14.  BC takes over with 1:08 to go from their own 45. 

Two completely unheard-of BC running backs rush for...
No gain on 1st and 10
1 yard on 2nd and 10
5 yards on 3rd and 9
Game over.

Not to mention that Coach Barnes had to be restrained from a BC player, #58 Troy Barnett.  I've never seen a coach go after an opposing player with such malice in his eyes as Barnes did.  I was right there on the field as it happened, about five yards away. 

I don't know what was said, but c'mon - get a grip.

The only thing anyone from Shenandoah should be complaining about is the fact that their team laid down in the second half.  After fumbling the opening kickoff in the second half, then Washington's TD (aka the dagger)...it was over.

Pat Cummings I agree with you on this all the way. I did not see Barnes do that I was busy leaving the stadium. But as I feel that the proper thing to do for Clark was to take a knee. It was to me and many others in and on the radio that it was classless for him to do that.
    Now like Clark, Barnes also has an obligation to his players to teach these guys many values. What he did was totaly wrong. I have not heard of this and like Pat do not know what happened to start this. As the way it looks it was wrong. But I don't know what was said so I cannot comment on it I feel. But again as it looks it was wrong on Barnes.
    SU did lay down in the second half. No question about it. Like in my first post about this the loss SU has no body to blame but themselves. But like last week when Clark had his team walk off without shaking hands to last night, to me shows he is low class. Like I wrote recently we all have a view and nobody will change any others. The radio to the fans and parents in the stands. I was not going to comment on this anymore but what Pat Cummings wrote about Barnes Im sure the poster police would be after me saying why cant you say what Barnes did was wrong also? So be it. Love me or hate me, no skin off my back guys.

No smiting from Stone Station abnrgr! Uncle Jessie will tell you he had a personal invite to "The Station" prior to the game. We are all good, just a difference of opinion thats all. Heck BC fans can tell you firsthand about disappointing losses. Even when a team that is trying not to run the score up starts kicking field goals on 2nd down, it still S*CKS! Yup, got it and totally understand! Always welcome at Stone Station. Good Luck as well to SU. This season is looking alot like last year for both of us. Hopefully that is the case, atleast the part about getting into the playoffs again. Here is to us both writing a different ending once we get in!

In order for SU to have any future success the defense has to show major improvement from last night. The Hornets have never been what you would call an offensive machine. It lives and dies on its defense. I think it might be a hard year to take for the fans. Ferrum seems to be clicking on all cylinders, Methodist will be up their again and CNU has not lost a step. We shall find out what the Hornets are made of in these next two weeks.

For what its worth, I can honestly say that Bridgewater is offensively as talented if not more talented as the 2001 Stagg runner-up team. This team is not as experienced yet; however, as you note we have depth and use it every game. BC has always been known to distribute the ball well and use everyone to stay fresh. This year we just happen to have a few injuries so Marcus Washington is getting alot of the carries right now. There was alot of arm tackling by SU last night, but I think once your season is played out you will put BC's offense in the Top 2 that you played against. I think your Defense will be fine if they play like they did in the first have, not to mention the fact that not to many other teams will use the number of suprise plays as BC does. Those plays can be a back breaker to any good defense if they are not ready for them.

how dominant was cnu?...just when you think they might be slipping a bit, they go out and win 53-2...big ups to the cnu coaching staff for whipping those boys into shape...i can only hope that they don't play that well against mc

ferrum scares me...a lot - they are REALLY playing well on both sides of the ball - i thought they were a better team than the record indicated last year, and it looks like they're growing up and ready to play - they could make a serious push

BC does have alot of weapons. As alot of guys up here in Winchester and also Clark has said Washington is not a D3 guy. He can easily play for a D1 school. He is that good and is the real deal. The thing that may hurt BC down the road could be the D-line. SU was able to get some big plays in the first half. Playing against a more powerful offense then SU and BC could get smoked.
Ferrum is the real deal . That team was in pretty much each USAC game last year but lost just by a few points. I heard the QB plays the option great. SU will find out next week when they open up the USAC scedule for the Hornets. But for now its getting back on track and playing decent against RM.
