CNU has never really had any bad blood between SU. We just didn't like the fact that they beat us two years in a row when we where young and then dropped us when we were getting pretty good. As far as the game goes Im hoping the offense shows up for CNU becuase if they do our defense will limit DJ and company much more than people think.  I think the game will be close and I think SU will have a costly turnover in the fourth to seal a Captain win.

Dr. Seagull

Big game this week for both teams but let me break it down like this...
Salisbury comes into this game with a lot to prove...they lost on their homefield last year in the playoffs to this CNU team...they have beefed up their schedule and this game is the marquee...with all this being said it is now or never for these seniors...I look to DJ and Brett Whenert on the offense and Andrew Demming on the defense to step into the huddles and let all 11 on the field at all times know what it takes and to go 100% every play...these three play with the "I don't give a f###, we refuse to lose attitude" and this is their final stage.
Therefore, I am calling them out to bring everyone on the team through with a win...both teams are talented, but this game is going to go to whoever wants it more...usually I pick the gulls in a blowout...but today it is going to be two high caliber teams trying to turn that corner to being a mainstay in the Top 10 programs in the country...Its there, now lets see who is going to go and get it...I like(putting my beak on) Salisbury by a field goal 27-24...This is the last group of kids that I played with and they know how to win...and refuse to lose...back when I was a freshman a group of kids and coaches decided to start winning and busting it 110%...this attitude is contagious and when that group of men left 4 years later...these boys aren't only coached up on football but how to win and what it takes

BOYS,BRING THE DICK...AND REPRESENT...YOU GET ONE SHOT...DO WHAT YOU DO...AND DEMMING...LIKE LAST WEEK...LAY THAT HELMET AT THE FIFTY FOR SEAGULL JACKS CAUSE THIS IS OUR FIELD TODAY

CNU played tough, but turnovers were killers in this game. Would have been a lot closer if not for those. CNU played a good game otherwise, but Salisbury just had their number today. I would like to see this game as a playoff game again! I truly hope for that, would be a great contest!

44-24..ouch. even without turnovers it's not much closer. The D line was weak and couldn't stop the option. I question the play calling on offense. I don't think CNU challenged the DBs enuff. They didn't go verticle enuff...when they did, they won the battle. Not sure why the coaches ran the ball as much as they did when the game was closer. CNU had success with the medium to deep passes and didn't take advantage  of it. CNU couldn't get much going on offense - they never found a rhythm. As soon as they were moving the ball, the coaches would call runs up the middle. Then, when it's 3rd and less than 1 (where you shuold be running the ball) they decide to try the long ball.

I think SU skipped the bus and just kept running....all the way home to Salisbury.

Im not saying shut down the entire offense when you were up 28-20 or 35-20. That point that the radio guys and what I brought up was with seconds left and I quote from Randy Woodward from 95.3 because he said it best. "That play instead of taking a knee was uncalled for. It was like rubbing salt in the wound of the Hornets."Its a big difference from shutting it down as you say and doing the right move and calling a knee at the end of the game. If he wanted to get others more playing time He had all chance to get them in because He had the game wrapped up well into the first few min.'s of the 3rd.

This is my impression of Uncle Jessica and his ladies from Shenandoah. I just think it is completely Ludicrous and classless for Salisbury to kick a field goal with less than 50 seconds to go in a game that has already been decided. SU has no sportsmanship what so ever and their coach should be fired. They had scored enough and O my gosh DJ never came out and Satchell keep running hard with 2 min left to go in the game. Whats with that, it's no way they should have been playing in the last few minutes its unfair that they came to our house and did what they did to our team. That's okay but one day they will be sorry and we will run the score up on them.

Tough day for the Pride, I like the fact that we didn't give up and had shot at the end.  Gotta put it behind us and get ready for SVU.

Yeah, I have to agree with you on that one CNUFinest. I do not appreciate any team's coach (regardless of whether I like them or not) who kicks someone else when they are down. I know coming from a fan, apologies do not mean much, but I know disrespect when I see it. Most people at Salisbury do not appreciate a sore winner because it takes the fun out of sportsmanship and makes things personal. While I liked the victory, I certainly did not appreciate the playcalling towards the end of the game. But don't let a few idiots sour you towards a great rivalry between two programs and their fans who respect one another.

Luv I agree that the turnovers would have keep the game a lot closer but at the end of the day the offense only scored 10 points and the defense allowed over 400 plus on the ground. I'm not a rocket scientist but CNU is in a rebuilding season from what I saw today. If you look at the top 15-20 teams in the nation on any level, I don't think you are going to see alot of them depending on freshmen or sophmores to make a major impact on the field. CNU has a lot of new guys in a lot of important places and it really showed. The problem with playing a lot of underclassmen is that when things start to go really bad a lot of them begin to get reserved because in the back of their mind they know they can get another crack at a team next year. For the older guys tomorrow is today and this may have been their last shot. It was  also very depressing to look at the weak CNU chants after SU scored and eventually they stopped all together. It was a time when our defense loved to hurry back to the sidelines to correct our problems because we knew it would  be extremely hard for the opposing team to get back into our endzone. We wanted teams to know that no matter what our team was going to accept any challenge and make the best out of it. But today a lot of older guys laid it on the line today but the overall body language of the team was horrible.  I think a lot of the new guys don't know what it really means to be a Captain.

Turnovers will seal Salisbury's fate again just like the playoff game with CNU last year. 7 TO's, 4 fumbles, and 3 ints.

Salisbury has already fumbled 7 times in its first 2 games this year!

"Them boys are fast as ell, but they can't win as long as they keep droppin' that baton!"  ;)

Llamaguy:

There were seven fumbles in today's game, but not from Salisbury.  It looks like the boys held on to the baton today.  Looks like Shenandoah will get a mad CNU team with a weeks rest.  Good Luck  ;D
