Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

It hurts for me to say this but its plain to see. As of now CNU is not a top 25 team Pat. Like Narch stated, we are probably there because of the reputation we have built up for ourselves in the last few years (which being a former player I am extremely proud of). But I have to be fair and call them like I see it, and its not that we don't have the talent to be a top 25 team. I just feel that we are extremely young again and more players don't know what it takes to be a top 25 team then those that do.

On another note the team must put all of their focus on Shenandoah now.  Hopefully we can have a reversal of last year. Last year we lost to Shenandoah, which eventually got blasted by Salisbury, and then we went to Maryland and beat them.

Mosh I know this must suck but it seems like a lot of Dixe/USA South teams always get their first against the Gboro. Imma start calling you guys the "Get Your First Conf Win Crew".

cnu85, I agree with Narch.  Until proven otherwise (and I agree with those proponents of not voting a Top 25 until 4-5 games into a season), CNU appears to be the best team in the USAC, 8th best team in the South Region and #25 overall.

You can be hard on them for expectations of excellence, but also I retain  the belief that the CNU coaching staff will have them whipped into shape by the time conference rolls around.

I agree with Narch...CNU appears to be the best team in the USAC

ralph...i don't remember saying that  ;D

while cnu seems to be the FAVORITE in the conference right now (and every year), i'd hardly concur that they are unquestionably the best team in the conference - ferrum has been the most impressive team and seems to have the fewest holes...of course, they haven't really played anybody, but you can only win the games you have on your schedule and they've been impressive in those wins - i think this will be a four-horse race between cnu, fc, mc and su and it should be exciting

Narch,
Sorry to get back to you so late.  Its been a busy weekend/ week.  Yeah, we have a new Offensive Cordinator...I think his bio is somewhere in the Gboro site now.  He is a former Auburn/ NFL player...I dont know to much about him beside what the bio says.  Two tough weeks for the Pride with all the picks.  Qtip  is a solid qb who hasnt had very much help in the last few years.  He'll turn it around.  PROUD OF THE PRIDE!

High School wise, we are 3-2, looking to get back to winning tradition we had in 2002 (we produced some serious ballers back then)...

I had the chance to see the UNC Wisconsin game in Chapel hill last saturday, packed house, rad hot girls, and a ton of cheese being thrown from refs...Really, I have seen that many flags thrown in a game but when it happens it makes me question wheter the refs making the calls ever played the game????

And I know the USAC or Dixie has had its fair share of poor reffing!

Roll Pride!

abnrgr: The Rams are not what they once were! Hopefully we have our team on track now, but we will just have to see.

Narch: Finally going to see my first MC game from the stands, this is going to be different!

narch

mc55ol - enjoy the game...this will be the only home game i miss this season

picks for the weekend
gc 24 - sova 0 - roberson gets things right against a pretty bad team

m'ville 17 - sewannee 14 - m'ville gets an ooc win against a hapless sewannee team

fc 24 - su 21 - fc running game out-does su running game - expect 700+ yards on the ground in this one

mc 38 - ncwc 17 - great match-up between two best young rb's in conference...williams and hill are both sophs and 1/2 in conference in rushing yards per game - monarch defense will step up and help the offense out - williams will out rush hill by 30 yards, but won't have as many big plays - wish i could be there, but if i can get to a computer, i will do my best to listen in

season pick-'em record 9-5
GO MONARCHS!!

I assume y'all believers in conference pride noticed that Mark Price, a DB for Maryville, made the Team of the Week.

wow...losing to sova hurts BAD for gc and this conference...no team in this conference should lose to them at all, and they certainly shouldn't lose by 4 td's

monarchs pull away late from bishops - mike hill goes for 143 and a td - rocket has 72 yards rushing, 191 passing - mc puts up almost 500 yards of total offense but turns the ball over twice (a ball that bounced off a receivers hand was returned for a td early) - not sure if williams was hurt, but he only got 8 carries  and if you take away a big 76 yard run, he had just a total of 5 yards on 7 of those carries- ncwc is sure pesky and it sounds like monarchs weren't able to pull away until the end of the 3rd/early 4th - ehc next week, then it's exclusively conference play from there on - i saw ehc really took it on the chin today - losing woods i'm sure has hurt, but i'm just glad we won't have to see that big rb...he was an absolute beast - go monarchs!
