poster most likely to cut you down with big words and in such a positive manner that you really don't even realize he's cutting you into little pieces

Thank you.  Thanks so much.  First, I'd like to thank my writers who put in such endless hours of research and all the little people, you know who you are.  You're the greatest.  And ....

narch - Perhaps you are confusing me with my doppelganger (humming Jeopardy theme while some readers look it up) who taught me "the pen is (indeed) mightier than the sword."  Which is, ironically, diametrically opposed to the other great mantra I recant daily:  "sticks and stones may break my bones, but ..."   You know how it goes.  lol  "A mind is a terrible thing to waste"  ... or was that "a waist is a terrible thing to mind?"  I forget.  Hold that thought will I get a Diet Coke ... :)  All kidding aside, I like chatting with all of you and hope you don't take me too seriously.  I have a very dry sense of humor, so I hope you've come to appreciate it in the genuine spirit of camaraderie and goodwill it's intended.    Peace

There once were some posters in chorus,
But Quaker's the one who can floor us.
He said, "I'm no rapper.
When I need a zapper,
I whip out a well-worn Thesaurus!"

To quote Igor in another great movie, Young Frankenstein, when asked which brain he brought back, "Master, it said A. B., A. B. Normal!"  (Do not take this brain!)  In my case, this is doubly true!  lol  As they say in parts of NC, "he's about 2 sandwiches short of a picnic!"  or, simply, "he ain't right!"  :)

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

This is the first year I have posted on post patterns. (ODAC & USA South) It has been fun sticking in my two cents worth here and there. Guess I'll have to work a little harder next year so I can earn an award.  :'(
I'll continue to pop in and out during the playoffs with some sort of profound post.  ;D Then it's off to basketball!!

GO SCOTS...TIGERS...PANTHERS!!!

Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

CNU85

All-Conference team announced.....13 from CNU!!! Kelchner is Coach of Year!!

cnusfinest54

jones - 27 att, 325 rushing yds (12 ypc), 5 td - 16 rec, 273 rec yds (17 ypr), 2 td'

finest - maybe i was a little harsh in my earlier analysis of jones, but i'm basing this mostly on seeing him play (mostly ineffectively) as a soph and junior against mu...i also think he's a victim of my high expectations...he was SO GOOD as a freshman (especially against the monarchs), that i expected him to dominate and anticipated he would be a serious contender for opoty as a senior

I don't think you were harsh Narch, I just don't think you looked at George's overall impact on CNU football. If you look at CNU's offensive production the years before Jones and the years with Jones you will notice his hidden impact.  I remember the days of scoring 17 points or so a game without a impact player who could go the distance after Conway got kicked off.  Whether it was being a tailback,wr, or taking snaps at Qb Jones caused a lot of problems for defenses/coaches because you never knew where he was going to score from. His presence opened up a lot of things for players like Nate Davis, Roland Hilliard, and the "greatest route runner in CNU history Curfew Speight and vise versa".  Maybe he didn't earn OPOY honors but I would certainly take him #1 overall in a USA South draft.  I wouldn't be the best at doing it but take a look at his production per opportunity.

GO CAPTAINS BEAT DOWN THE PRESIDENTS.

CNU85

Finest...as you know a lot of the opportunities this year came on critical third and fourth downs and he consistently produced.

Well folks, I want to take an opportunity (belatedly) to say congratulations to CNU on their conference championship.

I was at the CNU/FC game last week, and would have written sooner, but have been at the doctors alot getting my hearing checked....the ship's horn deafened me! :) I was impressed at the number of Ferrum fans that came to the game. (considering it was a rough year)

Maybe next year Panthers. I have enjoyed posting again this season, and will follow the Captains through the playoffs!
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

CNU85

Thanks Allen!

That game made me nervous before it started (didn't last long  ;D). I was worried that the FC team that was picked to win the conference would show up!! I was thinking a little revenge would be in order.

See ya next year!!

CNU85

CNU's in the house!!!!!
