Sportsman ship, Nice.

Never really thought to much about it.
It is for the broadcasters in the booth, and for the mothers.
Great job gents.  Keep up the obseqias dialouge.

Tough start for the Pride; the graduation of the defense is becoming a glaring weakness.

BEAT GUILFORD!

If any of the rest of the USA South gets to play Sewanee now that their QB is playing, better not overlook them.  I have no reason to think Maryville is better than average for the conf this year, but that U. of the S. team is not a 1 and 3 bunch now.

They are still awfully thin.  Contain QB Satterfield and you take care of most of the offense.   I can see 3-7, possibly 4-6 for Sewanee with a few breaks.

DAVE DAVIS FOR COACH OF THE YEAR!!!

LOL

He has the Panthers rolling thats for sure. I hope they undefeated when they play CNU, it will definitely make for an awesome game, assuming CNU is within striking distance too.

predictions

fc 38 - au 21 - ferrum runs roughshod over au defense and improves to 5-0
cnu 27 - su 12 - cnu had an off-week to prepare and get things right
ncwc 27 - m'ville 24 - if j. williams isn't healthy, reverse the score
gcq 24 - gc 13 - too many turnovers by pride, and quackers are starting to figure some things out
mc 34 - ehc 27 - woods for ehc is getting healthier, but they still don't have a running game and  will struggle to stop the monarchs...should be a good game - let's see how effective the muc system is with ehc players and find out for certain how much difference a coach makes (hopefully some of the monarch players remember that d3football.com's preview picked ehc ahead of mc based almost solely on the hiring of a new head coach :))

Predictions:

Ferrum will play Averett this weekend.
Shenandoah will play CNU this weekend.
NCW will play Maryville this weekend.
Greensboro will beat Guilford this weekend 27-20
EHC's head coach realizes that players are better in Ohio than they are in SW VA, and Methodist makes him wish he was still there with Kehres.

blackhats...you went out on a limb with those first 3 predictions, didn't you :)

GCman82

GC 31  GCQ 27  Souper Saterday for the Pride

FC 35  AU 17  Ferrum is just better

M-ville 24  NCW 16  this one could go either way

CNU 48  SU 14  I have no idea why

MC 21  EHC 20  im guessing a missed extra point will decide this one

ROLL PRIDE!!!  let's get this thing turned around

blackhats

Good luck tomorrow everyone.  And for those playing out of conference, represent the USA South.  There should be some very tough contests tomorrow.  I'll try to let people know the score of the Ferrum game at the half and/or once it is final.

cnufan

Nothing like a 90-yard td return on the opening kick-off for the Captains

cnufan

And now after a SU blocked punt, CNU returned the ball 18 yards for a TD. 14-0 CNU with 627 left in the first.

cnufan

Scores anyone???

CNU 27, Shenandoah 0 with 2:18 left in the third.

Last I heard, Averett was beating Ferrum 13-6.

Uncle Jessie

The Hornets made things at least interesting but numerous blocked punts, poor passing and the run being shut down for 3 quarters, plus some stupid penalties of 15 yarders once again at the end equals a beat down by the Capts. Not too much went right for SU. I hope now that the USAC tittle is out of reach for the Hornets, Barnes will start looking at some players for next year.
Its time to start looking to the future. Barnes also needs to start looking at the one demential style of play they have. That absolute boring to watch ACE Wing is a terrible style to have when you get down in the game. The Hornets pride themselves in running the ball on 6 to 9 minutes a drive and you just cant do that when you are down. Because of this style the Hornets choose to play its very hard to come back and win when you get down 14 or more points. Its all fine and dandy if you are leading but you have to have more than one weapon to be successful. They have built the team around the run and when it gets shut down they have just no way of getting back in the game because of no passing game.
Good luck to the Capts the rest of the year. Hopefully you wont have any major injuries the rest of the year.

I agree UJ. I was at the game. when SU was down 14-0, then 27-0, they kept running the ball. There doesn't seem to be a game plan for coming from behind. That allowed CNU to focus on stopping the run.

Good news for CNU...Philip Jones will be back next week. He was the starting QB at the start of the season. Hudson Bryant went down in the 1st half. CNU then had to go to their #3 and #4 qbs. Morgan had a bad day. Faison was jittery. Thank you Hilliard for stepping up and taking the pressure off of the qbs.

The D was fired up all game. I think the D line is really coming together. Games like today help the O line come together as well. Hilliard had 129 yds.

2-0 in the conference...CNU is starting to wake up. And my pre-season prediction could be looking right. I predicted a 2-2 start, dropping out of the top 25, then finishing with an 8-2 record and a top 15 ranking.

Go AVERETT...

27-27 in third qt!!!
