monarchs win 55 - 21 - ehc scored late to get to 21 - 2nd teamers played entire 4th quarter - monarchs were very impressive - hill had 28 carries, 150 yds and 2 tds- rocket was 8-11 for 123 and had a 59 yd td run on the first offensive play - monarchs were up 9-0 after the first 5 plays getting a safety on the first ehc series and then scoring on the first offensive play and never really looked back - they could have scored 70 today if they wanted to...very impressive showing - woods for ehc looked pretty good, but they finished the game with just 20 some yards rushing, and that was after they rushed for 40+ in the 4th quarter - ehc was just outmanned and could not come close to matching the monarchs team speed - on to averett next week...any news on au/fc game?

48-40 Ferrum...about 7 min left in game

cnu85

Ferrum scores again with 3 min left. It's over. Nice effort by AU. FC can be scored upon. 55-40

I guess certain players on the CNU team made sure that a fluke BS 4th down and 5 25 yard TD pass wouldn't beat us this year.  Its a team game but Rob Rodriguez started the game with a bang by returning the opening kick for a TD and didn't stop their as he blocked another kick for a CNU TD.  CNU lost a lot of players from last year but even with our offensive woes we still showed SU how much better we are then them.  SU got some scores late in the game to make the game look closer then what it actually was but the outcome was sealed in the 2nd quarter when CNU built up a 27-0 lead. I guess FC and CNU revenged their fluke losses from last year in a big way.  Its also SO funny how much crap SU fans talked all summer and after the first 2 weeks when they were playing scrubs. Now that they have played a good FC team, the Odac champ, and the true USA South  champ they now have 3 losses and once again you can see nothing but tumble weeds from the SU posters.  Good luck to CNU for the rest of the season and continue to take everything one game at a time.

Sorry for not providing posts this afternoon, but I couldn't log on for some reason at Ferrum.  Averett offense had its way with Ferrum defense today.  Ferrum was missing two DB's and a LB, so the young'ns had a difficult time of stopping their passing game.  Averett came to play offensively, but their defense (even though they were physical at times) showed that they had no answer for the option.  Two Averett scores were on the Ferrum offense...a fumble insid the the 15 that was returned to the three and an interception inside the 25.  Ferrum also had difficulty in the punting game with two near blocks (one Ferrum ended up running for a first down and another that the punter was tackled for a loss).  Not a very good game defensively, but a win nevertheless for the Panthers.  690 yards of total offense for the Panthers!!!!!!  450 for Averett.

sounds like the fc/au game was a barn burner - fc offense certainly had a nice day - parsons has done a really good job for au since swann went out - the monarchs will see each of these teams on the road the next two weeks - i hope they wore each other out today and that the hangover from today's game lasts at least 2 weeks for fc

here is the box score from the mc/ehc game - looks as though gcq pulled out a 1 point win vs. gc

congrats to cnu on the win today, as well - captains are showing that they are still the team to beat in the usasac - capt. fans have to be happy with the running game today, particularly with hilliard topping 100 yards - i knew he was too good a back to keep him bottled up all season, and unfortunately for the rest of the conference, he looks like he might be on track

Way to go CNU!!  Ya got them Hornets off your back!!  Good luck the rest of the way and win your conference!  Rowan fans respect your squad!! ;D

Come to the 'Boro next year! ;)

cnusfinest54

Thanks ACMob. It was long over due but everytime they come to Pomoco we really embarrassed them. Just because they have beaten us 3 out of the last 5 times by a combined 11 points. SU and their fans have been really high on their team and belief that they were without a doubt the best team in the USA South.  Its amazing how 2 really dominate wins at Pomoco have shut up the fans from SU and have them in week 5 already talking about getting ready for next year. Oh I love it when SU has nothing to say.  Like I stated all summer, the only thing that SU has done over the years is beat good CNU teams and now since they can't hang their season on that their team and their fans have nothing to cheer about.

Uncle Jessica where are you now. I told you all summer that when the ladies from SU come to Pomoco that we would show you who was the real champ of the USA South. Now let us continue on with our hunt for a 5th straight title while your girls look forward to next year.

I know some others may say I am going overboard with rubbing this win in SU fans faces. But when you constantly have to hear a very average team talk about how good they are because your team absoultly blows it every year at Shentel. Then they end up getting the win by throwing a TD on a 4th down and 5 prayer, that gives them the win by 4, and then they have the nerve to right in their article that SU showed the USA South with the win over CNU who is in fact the dominate force in the conference.  Well I say So What, we have dominated SU just like every other good team on their schedule and have exsposed them for who they really are. A BUNCH OF SCRUBS.   ;D

Can the 5-0 Ferrum Panthers continue the streak!!!

If they improve their pass defense, and cut way down on the penalties, it can be done.

Prediction for the next game...Ferrum 45  Maryville 17

Why does it seem that everyone thinks that CNU is a shoe in...Dont sell the Panthers short...or Methodist for that matter. If Ferrum can beat Methodist in 2 wks., the stage will be set for a war at Ferrum between the Captains and Panthers. Will the Panthers get ranked??? They have already finished half of their season undefeated, and have a win over a division II team...Chowan

GIVE THE BIG BLACK CATS IN THE BLACK HATS SOME RESPECT !!!!!
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

Allen C no one has said anything bad about Ferrum. Ferrum has a pretty good team but the problem with their 5-0 is that they have played no one. When CNU first started getting ranked we beat teams like Mcdaniel, Bridgewater, and played a good team like Rowan really close.  The rankings really don't mean anything but you can't gain national respect until you beat nationally respected teams outside of the conference.

According to the Massey Ratings, Chowan is 148th out of 148 Div II schools.
And the Laz Index has Chowan at 143rd.

As much as I would like to give props to Ferrum, the win over Chowan isn't much to brag about. Chowan is Division II in name only, not in strength and ability.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Pat Coleman

Yes, does anyone really think Chowan is so much better than last year, when they were 1-9 as a D-III team and lost to Ferrum 44-0?
