Does it help if we just call it playful mail banter?

Your spelling of Greek historian Herodotus is spot on, abnrgr.  My narratives in this forum about our little sports "wars" pale in comparison to his ground-breaking accounts of the Persian wars in the fifth century BC, but thanks.  lol  I can tell by your references that you are truly a student of the art of war throughout all eras.  Bravo!

I used to enjoy all that history stuff, but I think the only war I know of right now is the one from Larry the Cable Guy.  You know the one that was a movie.  ;D

You know Christopher Newport was in a commerical this weekend.  Well not the university, but the explorer was in a commercial.  It was a commerical about visiting Jamestown.

It threw me of because they used a college kid to do the commerical.  He wore a CNU colored T-shirt that said "Thank you, Christopher Newport." I thought it was a commerical about colleges.  CNU recieved some free advertising from it I think.  Any idiot that doesn't know who Christopher Newport is, is likely to google it.  First page 5 of the 10 entries are CNU links. (I was that idiot at one time until I started following the USASouth.)

PrideSportBBallGuy

I am going to post this on the ODAC board as well as USASouth.  I decided to reorganize the ODAC and the USASouth (Football Only) here is what I came up with.

NEW USASouth

Averett
Emory and Henry
Ferrum
Greensboro
Guilford
Maryvile
Methodist
North Carolina Wesleyan

New ODAC
Bridgewater (VA)
Catholic
Christopher Newport
Gallaudet
Hampden Syndey
Shenadoah
Washington and Lee
Randolph Macon

This is just something fun.  Just having Guilford in the same conference makes the "rivalary" that much more important.

This gives USASouth a chance to win the conference without CNU at the top. Also gives CNU a chance not to win the conference.

This cuts the travel time for Maryville as well. Actually a bunch of schools as well.

Gives USASouth 4 NC teams and 4 VA.

Gives ODAC all VA Teams.

A rivalary could start between Catholic and Gallaudet.

What would the conference outlook be if this were truly the conferences?

Pride, time to elevate your game.  The commercial was about Jamestown, but, sadly, this post was about a college.  You should google Strunk & White or open this Wikipedia link:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Elements_of_Style.  Good writing is hard work, but well worth the effort - think of it the same way as a championship team that sweats the details in every practice.  :)

I often use too many comma's, so thank you for letting me know I need to add more.

I seriously think I have typing dyslexia.  You ask me to spell out commercial I could spell it out fine easily (Commerce -e +ial)

Plus you caught me in the morning, I think if you look at all my posts and look to see where most of my errors have occured, you will see they happen more often in the morning.

What is the price for that book?

My writing is fine, but only when I take the time to put an effort into it.  I clearly could be doing more during the day than posting on here so my effort isn't always shown on here.

However I wouldn't use google or wikipedia to do research.  That clearly is what you have asked me to do.  Any research must be peer reviewed wikipedia may have great stuff, but in terms or research it would not be an acceptable source.

Most other research items are your standard books, newspapers, journals and encyclopedias.

I do have you to thank Mr Nova, since I started posting on here my writing has improved.  As long as you continue to post, and continue to correct my grammar, I won't need to get that book.

Pride, I'm not necessarily asking you to add more commas, but I am asking you to put them where they belong so your sentences are easier to read and have more clarity.  Regarding possible dyslexia and morning posts:  ask a doctor and don't write before noon.  :)   The Elements of  Style by Strunk & White has been a college writing staple for about 50 years and has gone through several updates.  It's a relatively inexpensive paperback - probably around $8  - and is well worth the money.  Any reputable mainstream bookstore will know it well.  We can all improve our writing, so don't be lulled into complacency.  I wasn't "clearly" telling you to use Wikipedia - I merely suggested you use the link I had already read and found to be reasonably accurate.  Use any research source you want - just do research!  You're welcome, but trust me, I do not correct all your - or anyone else's - posts.  I am not motivated in that way and I simply do not have that much time and energy.  I do, however, feel compelled to encourage you to attain a higher level from time to time, especially when a post is particularly egregious.  I just want you to get some of these things straight before your résumé lands on my desk in a few more years.  :)
