SU - I am sure you are right but if I said anything different, they would tar and feather me here at home and at Averett.

Understood.

CNU does lose 70+% of their offense, but they are still my favorites to win.  They lose Rob on defense but, I am not convinced that the defense will be bad as others have already posted.  Still my favorite.

I am going to say this I am not convinced on NCWC at all, I know they return alot of players I think thier schedule is tough. They start at Wesley not an easy game. After that Widener at home, again not an easy game.  Next is Emory & Henry they could beat them, but USASouth didn't fair well against ODAC last year. Next is at Methodist, it is never easy to go in there in win, historically a tough place to go play.  Later in the season they have to go on the road to CNU and Averett.  More tough road games.  Easily could have 4 losses and 4 losses won't win the conference.

I really don't know that much about NCWC but I think CNU is "King" until someone knocks them off.  Anyone know why the CNU/ Maryville game is being played in Williamsburg?

I think someones SID doesn't know the difference between Williamsburg and Newport News. CNU has it on their schedule as a home game (Newport News)

This is just a theory, but last year's USA South football media day was held in Williamsburg and CNU was officially its host. Maybe that's where someone got the mental link between that city and school.

Though I suppose its possible the game could be played in Williamsburg. It's no weirder than Averett and W&L playing a game in Salem.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Did forget to mention this, the USASouth Preseason poll comes out in 20 days.  (In the past it has been released on the third wednesday of July. So it should be out in 20 days.  ;D )

okay, looks like I killed off the USASAC Board this week... sorry fellas.  Somebody toss out a poem or something to kick things off again for PSBBG.

There once was a 'baller from Nantucket
During the off season, said F$%# - it

didn't condition
now he's in position

in August to be puking in a bucket
I've met Tom Brady and you, sir, are no Tom Brady:

There was once the Pride of Nantucket
Who carried his balls in a bucket
He said with a grin
As it's Boston he's in
"If my arm takes a hit I could tuck it!"   :)

Not as many as the 115-125 as you say start at SU.  It is usually what you see is what you get.  90-100 people usually show up to camp.  We aren't much smaller than SU but using d3football enrollment number we do have 623 less students.  So I would say 90-100 is fairly high. I think any school would want more though.

I sent an email to Etch at MC to see what the skinny is on this.  8)

I understand the game between Averett & W&L will be a fund raising game for Habatit for Humainty (not sure I spelled that right). Not sure I understand why Salem either other than it may generate a bigger gate. Again don't know how that can happen unless both schools load up the buses for the students.

It appeared to me that the last two years at Averett they had somewhere close to 140 to 150 show up at the beginning of training camp. Dunlevy weeded those out real quick the first 3 days with the required running drills and times that had to be made. Then by the end of 2nd week, they may have been down to 100 - 110, and by the start of the season 100.

I am curious and this question is for the CNU guys.... how do you think the upstart of football at Old Dominion will impact CNU's recruiting in the Tidewater Area. I know for a fact that CNU pulls heavily from this area, but just curious what the pro's at CNU think this will do to their recruiting in this area.

Thanks Kickerdad and PSBBG, anybody else with any stats on this?

I'm definately not a CNU fan...  but will toss in my 2 cents worth:  ODU adding a squad at Foreman Field won't make a difference at all to CNU.  The talent and physical tools needed to compete at the D-I AA level is a higher level athlete than the typical DIII prospect, if ODU is impacting CNU's recruiting pool then ODU has got some major problems ahead.  (Now if VWC added football...  that's another story)

kickerdad

I have wondered all these years why VWC hasn't gone with football. They certainly have the land space and I think their enrollment is up there in comparision with some of the  other USA South schools.

Is it possible that W&L and Averett agreed to a one year contract at a neutral site?  8)

NACUBO says that the VWC endowment is $45M+.

Parsons

I am pretty sure that Averett and W&L both wanted home games but couldnt agree so the next best thing was to just play at a neutral site....and what better than the site of the D3 national championship game
