FB: USA South Athletic Conference

And out of curiosity ...
CNU started three sophomore linebackers last year (Horan, Henry, Cappa) but not a one of them is on the preseason roster. Anybody know what happened there?

where did you see a preseason roster?

Roster was in media day handout. Not the nice final printed version they do after camp but the little one on copy paper that everyone brings to the event.

keep an eye on the link in an old post prior to the live webcast that people used to hook up to the event live. last time i clicked  it, the site said that the event was waiting to be archived. maybe in a few days it will be archived. maybe never?

fellas my heart is in my predictions I see it like this
NCWC  but the out of conference could hurt
CNU     always near the top
MARYVILLE  only because of so much experience
METHODIST tough always still could be third
AVERETT    solid in this place
FERRUM  a hard call but better than the bottom two
GREENSBORO  improved but a tough league
SHENANDOAH  this is all  they can do

I think I have mentioned where I expect teams to finish but I haven't really put out a ranking for the USASouth preseason.

CNU-too consistent to put them elsewhere

Averett-maybe a reach but I like how thier conference schedule favors them, They play the 2006-07 upper teams at home and the lower teams away.

Methodist-I don't think MU can stay down for long.

Maryville-Could be the suprise team to win the conference, however they have two long road trips to (SU and CNU) might just wear them down in the season.

NCWC-One solid year does not translate into a conference championship.  Recent years coaches preseason polls have not favored well for the season of those picked number 1.  My position favors well compared to teams of the past

Greensboro-I want them higher, but a new QB and new RB sometimes is a posion for a team.

Ferrum-Defense, Special Teams need vast improvements.  I don't think it will be accomplished in one year. Could be another surprise though.

Shenadoah- Road conference schedule is tough, plus GC they still have to play ( ) Bridgewater, and they just don't have the offensive firepower for Maryville. My prediction they won't be in last place next season.

Honestly I think 2-7 is really up in the air.  CNU is the favorite they have been the most consistent team of all the teams in the USASouth.

Narch- The USASouth Men's Soccer board has vanished.  I know you started it before, so by all means if you want to start again go ahead.

NCWC  (I think all this talk of being the conference champs of 07 is too much for them to handle)
Averett  (These 3 teams can go either way)

Greensboro (They disappoint the fans year after year)
Shenandoah  (As much as I hate picking CNU to finish first. It hurts even more to pick the Hornets to finish last. They need to get rid of the ACE-WING!!)

PSBBG - I think I danced around on this previously but never gave a final view point.  Here are my predications

1. NCWC tied w/CNU
2. Averett tied w/Maryville
3.Methodist
4.Greensboro
5.Ferrum
6.Shenandoah

The top 5 teams could all be in the middle of the pack or battling it out depending on how each one does with the out of conference schedule. I know CNU, Averett, NCWC play some pretty tough teams, up front. Don't know much about Maryville and Methodist's out of conference rivals. The whole thing could come down to a shoot out the last 4 weeks of the season. (With some interesting surprises)
