the monarchs had a scrimmage vs. fuma (i think) today - offense moved the ball ok, then bogged down in both series i watched...i saw some formations i haven't seen in a few years out of the monarchs...interesting - defense was absolutely dominating on the 3 series i watched - fuma had negative 30+ yards on those drives and was 3 and out all 3 times - don't know what it means, but i know fuma is usu. loaded with d1 caliber athletes

Yeah I made it out to Aikens Field, I was impressed with some of the running backs. What worried me a lot was watching the punters and field goal kickers. One guy I think missed over half of the field goal kicks he was trying for. The guy the Hornets had the last two years is really going to be missed. Did you get out to the scrimmage?

I agree, kicking may be a problem, l'll but as they concentrate on one kicker he will get the practice needed.  Let's just score 6 and then 2 and not worry about it.  Yes the running game looks strong with depth.

I LOVE the D3 kickoff you guys put together Pat!!!! But what was up with that ranking for Shenandoah? OUCH!

And you made a bit of history with your post.  Shenandoah will forever be remembered as the first school to complain about its coverage in the Kickoff Special.

I read in the kickoff that CNU is getting a new field. Can anyone from CNU say what its like? Is it the type of turf called prescription athletic turf? I think Muhlenburg (sp)? has that type. I wish SU could get that.

I think it's a reasonable ranking based on what's left and such. All the teams ahead of Shenandoah are good.

2005 Kickoff.  I was reading the USA South page and noticed that you had CNU with a 14-10 win over Shenandoah. Shenandoah won that game 14-10. I know that was last year and the game this year may very well be for the conference even though there will be conference games left.
