Another hard loss to swallow was forced on to me last Saturday night at Shentel Stadium. It really is not much to say for the score speaks for itself 44-21 . But I will try to give my view of the game . Paul Diggs had 100 yards. The special teams made some big plays at times and the defense picked up two fumbles, plus the team scored 3 touchdowns. But after watching the entire melt down of the defensive unit of the Hornets in the 3rd QT its becoming pretty clear that some changes are going to be made in the off season at SU. Either it will be a head coach or some assistant coaches. CNU is this week and I'm terrified as to what the final score will be on Saturday afternoon. I'm worried that the team has given up and just wants to play the season out as fast as possible. In the 2nd half of last weekends game they just did not play like they wanted to win. Frustration on the field was clear as the Hornets were starting to throw punches and collect penalties, interceptions ect. I would not be surprised if CNU score's into the 50's this weekend. Punter Chris Dooley was one of the only few bright spots as usual for the team. He had 6 punts avg. 38.8 yds and his long one was 51. It looks like he better keep that leg protected as he most likely will have a workout when he plays in Pomoco this week.

So, since replay showed Hightower actually scored that touchdown, will Mr. Tipps add those points to the final Scots total; thus the scots cover the points spread and I get 5 points not 4 for the week?

And ruin the first time that I've actually gotten my "sure thing" pick correct (by choosing Gboro with the points)?!

Looked for you Saturday night but never found you. However wasn't able to get close to the sidelines there at Salem. Those folks are scared someone might step on the turf and flatten it. Even after the game they made the parents walk out the gate and out into the parking lot, back to the back gate; in order to see their sons. (seemed like a mile walk) Plus didn't understand why they wanted everyone (both W&L & AU) to sit on the same side. That could have been a problem. The Salem staff must have had issues or just been tired after the 1PM game. They certainly weren't as friendly as I have heard people say they are. Also, the proceeds of this game was to go Habit for Humanity, but other than the couple of words the announcer made before the game, nothing was said and never saw anyone from that organization in attendance. 

Let me know if you are going to make any of the other games and I will attempt to due a better job and locating you.

Probably not unreasonable with 850 people in a 7,800-seat stadium to close half the seats down, save on security, etc.

I'm sure they didn't open all of the press boxes either.

No I was meaning the guys who were getting all excited and worked up about nothing.  It is a dead issue now (I hope).

Like I said originally, the phantom fumble didn't affect the outcome. I didn't relate it well enough in the description, my issue was with the slow whistles, which that play was an example of. Lowe nearly got bent backwards a few times before thw whistle blew. Several times it degenerated into the rugby scrum with the ball carrier no where in sight. Players will keep fighting until they whistle and even then a tick beyond, being slow with the blow can instigate problems father than a first base umpire discussing poo with Milton Bradley. That was the point not the call.

I couldn't see the first catch ruled out of the end zone for GC the other two clearly were out the side and the back but the first one did look close. I'm sure Slay pushed him out the back but then that's legal in college.

Which player's name was misspelled and in which story? I haven't been able to find it.

I think I can offer a possible solution to why USASouth is 7-15 out of conference, 8 FR and SO are amongst the the leaders in passing in the conference. The only other two that are not are a JR and a SR.  We have a young QB conference this year.
