Pat Coleman......just read the blog about your move. Best Wishes in the move. Hope everyone and everything makes it safely. Are you originally from MN?

I was actually thinking about trying to get up there this year for a Vikings game. Been a fan since 1969.

Skol Vikings!!

I am. :)

I was scanning the other regional boards last night and saw on one that they were asking for posters to come up with an All Star Team from the posters favorite school. (i.e. CNU85 would come up with his verison of CNU's all time best players at each position and so on).

Since I am still fairly new to DIII Football I will let someone else come up with Averett's all time best players.

The region I saw this on had some interesting discussing about the picks of everyone especially those picking the best from the same school. Just something to talk about till camp opens next month. Come on give it a shot.

Make it real interesting and include all time best coaching staff. Mix them up if you want.

Averett is still fairly new to D-III football. I bet you wouldn't be too far off. :)

Just a reminder to folks that I have regrettably turned in my resignation for the 2008 pick-em duties. Yeah, hold back those tears. I know you can do it.

Anyway I hope someone is willing to carry the torch. The job is open. If the pick-ems go on this year, I'll play, I just don't have the time to manage them like the past two seasons.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

I thought Matt was running pick em. I guess I am out of the loop. Tipps good job

Pat Coleman is moving to Minn. So does this mean no one is charge?

I take it you will keep these duties.

Where is the smooth as silk ADM Papi and his henchmen? Internet is slow here so cannot stay on too long, so there life for the Monarchs amd dreaded Panthers? Something I can read quick.

Its Saturday night here. Its down to 99. It feels much better. ;)

I chatted with a Greensboro Grimsley HS grad sporting Campbell University attire at my local YMCA today.  He's been at CU for a year now ... conditioning and working out with the Camels.  He said there is a lot of anticipation and excitement on campus about their return to football after such a long hiatus (yes, CU once had football!).  Campbell opens at home versus Birmingham-Southern on August 30, but it sounds as though a lot of Campbell fans will make the relatively short trip from Buies Creek to Fayetteville on September 6 when the Camels play Methodist in the Monarchs' opener!

Enjoy the game, narch, then I look forward to seeing you in Greensboro for the 7 pm start versus Guilford on the 13th!

September 6 is only 51 days away!

Spread out all over the place, too: a running back, linebacker, O lineman, a DB, special teams.... Seems like there's almost always going to be one of them on the field.  :o :)

Don't sweat it, though. The last time I saw a regular season game in Newport News, I seem to recall that the No. 4 team in the country slumped off the field with a big "L" on it's record.  ;)  History can repeat itself....

Me thinks ye protest to much!!!  But what a game to kick off the season... If my Aunt and Uncle still lived two streets down from the college I would make a weekend out of it.

Just don't underestimate the abilities of the Wesley players named to the preseason team... They are as good as advertised. And yet I know too well that the game is Not played on paper. It's just a shame that we won't have one or two games to judge the teams on before they meet..
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

If you are looking for a silver lining in this, at least the guy who will have the ball in his hands on every snap is not one of the All-Americans.
