I was thinking about this for Virginia over the weekend. I started in the Hampton Roads area and then thought about Richmond and then figured, why not put the entire state list together. I'll put it on my to do list. The reason I was even thinking about it had to do with my old high school......which can now boost that it has 2 former players as college head coaches....Jerry Holmes at Hampton and Mike London at Richmond. I remember watching London play in high school and I remember watching Holmes play...well...on TV for the Jets.
As a native Virginian (and football fan, in general lol), I look forward to seeing your list.  I could make a stab at it, but I bet I'd miss more than a few!

Been traveling and haven't had time to dig through all the posts. Has anyone stepped up to the plate for this yet. We need someone like CNU85, Hasanova, or Narch that has experience with booking the odds.

Ryan, are you sure you won't reconsider. Your wife won't mind you doing this while tending to the kids after midnight.

Sorry, but even though it was lots of fun and a nice challenge for myself to pick the spreads, I really can't do it this year. Even prior to last season, I was thinking of passing it from my shoulders, and this year, my duties for D3Football have grown. Time is just too tight, and I'd rather decidate more to putting out a good column and doing other stuff for the site.

I certainly hope someone takes it on, especially since there's no ODAC pick-em either this year. A double whammy to us here in Va. and N.C. :(

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Kickerdad,
I sent you a private message about this weekend's game. "The Hanna Bowl"  ;D

85,
You know Stone Station isn't bulletproof but we are always waterproof. The Stagg Bowl taught you about that one.

Narch,

I am lucky to have landed in such a good program with the talent at the QB position. I started coming over in the spring to work with our QB's. The starter committed to NC State this summer despite my constant MU sermons. We also have three other QB's in our program that will continue the tradition of college play, even though a couple of them might play a different position at the next level. Hopefully I can help some of our talent see the benefits of playing for a small, local school instead of sitting the bench somewhere bigger. The starting QB from my last HS went to MU, but he only lasted a week before he gave it up. Coach E still won't talk to me because of it.  :D Now I have to make it up somehow.

That was funny! I remember, after having much liquid inside the body, having some good conversations with that Confucius guy in Salem! He had good things to say!  :D

Was it Confucius or Confused? Or maybe both?

Thanks. I finally opened my eyes and saw what you are referring to. My bust.

Pat, being you are referred to as the "Guru Master" of all things. Do you think you can have a talk with "Mother Nature" and get her to keep Hanna out of the area an additional 24 hours this weekend, so we can have some good football weather? I see lots of facilities (fields) getting tore up and ruined the first week, if this gal has her way.

Look me up Saturday night at Guilford and say hello.   Not sure where you live, but the Greensboro News & Record is reviewing both Guilford and Greensboro in Friday's (9/5) edition ...  just in time for the Soup(er) Bowl the next night.  Even if you're not in town, I think you could read it in their online edition.
The paper said they were running on Friday, but the previews on the Pride and the Quakers are actually in today's (9/4) edition.  As you would expect, they featured Lowe and Vogelbach.

Hey Ryan Tipps,

Nice piece you wrote in ATR. I have one question, though. What's in the bottle on the bar behind your left shoulder in the picture? What - did you start tailgating in February, too?

;D ;D

Man you got good eyes......good catch. Now blackmail him with this so he will do the pick-ems.

Pat Coleman - I am having problems getting the Region articles to come up. When I go to the column on the left and click Around the Regions (right below All Around the Nation) it starts to load but stops short of putting the articles in. What am I doing wrong.

Anyone else having this issue?

CNU85

The Wesley at CNU game has been "postponed". There is no word of a make up date. So, given the different bye weeks for the teams....it's cancelled.

:(

Highlander

Good luck to everyone in the USA South Conf. this weekend. May all of the teams have a 1-0 record after the first week of the season. Kind of sad that the CNU game is postponed, I am sure that all of the players that have been bustin their tails during camp, and the fans would have liked to been able to get the game played. Yet, safety must always come first.

I have a feeling that if Hanna comes up the Chesapeake or Delaware bays  that more games may be canceled.
