My comment about CNU putting in 100% was referring to Kickerdad:

"But if I sat in the locker room afterwards and knew in my heart that my playing level was below standard and I had slacked off, then I had issues"

I didn't say GC or any other conference team did not do this. I stated what I experienced and know from winning 4 championships @ CNU. There was no question. Not giving it all was never an issue. Every saturday it was all left on the field. That's how we do it @ CNU. From the bottom to the top we all push 100%.

As far as the public private thing? How about CNU's disadvantages? How about the standards for academics? You guys know how hard it is to get into CNU? And the location? full of talent?  ??? of course!!! Thats like saying a school is better because they have better players. Well duh. I mean what kind of argument is that? "Being located in one of the best hotbeds for football talent in the country doesn't hurt either" That's my point. We have talent, but talent alone doesn't win games. With out that drive to succeed you will always be a loser. CNU shouldn't have won the conference in the 1st year of existence. Not a chance in hell. But we did. Against teams that had been playing for years and decades for some. On an "uneven" field we got it done.

As for money being the factor? How about Chowan? they were in the USA south/ dixie conference. Now they have scholarship athletes!! And do you know how that has turned their program around? They have won 5 games over the last 4 years.  :o  So, come up with excuses all day long.  Private v. Public, Talented v. Talentless, Laces in v. Laces out. I'm tired of it. Play the game. Win and lose like a man, don't blame it on anything other than getting done.

and mosh?? really, you hope we lose at least 3 games? We play hard and fair. We don't hate. We want to beat you on saturday but could care less what happens  in your other games. I take it back, we actually wish you well. Represent the conference the best way possible. Win. Just don't expect a W against us. Good luck to you.

anyone want me to start listing all of the conference players (and many that head to the ODAC or other conferences) that didn't get into CNU acadmically? Then we can talk about advantages vs disadvantages. Also, you don't see Mt Union complaining they can't compete with public schools.

For those that are interested SU put on its web site today that all future home games will be shown live on the internet. Now if you are not able to drive up to Winchester in the future you can still watch the game. Hopefully in the near future all the USAC schools will do this. http://www.su.edu/athletics/hornets_news.cfm?spid=2132

$9.95 per game

A nice piece on CNU head coach. This is why CNU is succesful.....has nothing to do with public v private.....and I'm close enough to a few situations that prove to me that the private schools can and will do many things to make the tuition equal, or in the case of really top recruits, less than CNU. CNU's hands are tied by state regulations. We can debate this thing to death - it's Ford vs Chevy, Democrat vs Republican - we fill our heads with data to support what we want to believe.

As one coach I had years ago used to say...."suit up, shut up, and play"

CNU85

wow....CNU has 95 yds rushing in first Quarter!! SU has 96 with 81 on one play.....seems like the fans turning their heads right to left like a tennis match.

here we go again....1st half 4th down...cnu going for it......
