Congrats to Maryville against the Bishops!! Was hoping last weeks preformance would carry over! Didn't happen. Sounds like Maryville's defense had their number.
The only easy day was yesterday

2-) I wish I'd had more fans that passionate about Monarch football when I was playing to actually call us out for playing poorly (it was just motivation for me...as a matter of fact I still remember when NARCH...yea you NARCH said that Greensboro's QB was better than me just before our game my Jr year...I think I went for 3 td's and almost 300 yards that game, probably my best game ever)
in light of this, let me try something here....

the monarchs can't run the ball and they can't stop the run

hopefully, i've just motivated them the way i motivated you :)

and i honestly don't remember gc every having a qb that was better than the monarch qb...i must have been on...well, i must have been a little delusional :)

listening to the CNU game and it sounds like a tough game.  I am surprised how well SU is playing tonight...  However it turns out.  Great effort!!

As far as the MC game goes w/ NCW the score really doesn't indicate, no disrespected intended, how the game went.  I was there and 2 big plays on busted coverages by the Scots and that's about it as far as scoring drives go.  A touchdown w/ about 40 seconds left was the last score by NCW.  Our defense came up big.  It was a good day for the Scots over all.  Hightower really got going for the first time since his 2 injuries in the beginning of the year.
If you wanna go to heaven and walk the streets of gold.
You gotta know the password.
It's GO SCOTS GO!!

Overall, I would say CNU's rushing dominated the game(Tunde Ogun 200yds). Turnovers made this game ugly for both teams. SU didn't really put much together on offense. One play went for 81 yards. Other than that I didn't see much. Ugly win for CNU but I'll take  it.

How about Chowan? they were in the USA south/ dixie conference. Now they have scholarship athletes!! And do you know how that has turned their program around? They have won 5 games over the last 4 years.  :o
...for what it's worth, the teams they're playing also give scholarships....nice attempt, but bad comparison

crazylegs33

exactly. On an "even" playing field they still suck. In fact When CNU played them last they were D2 with some scholarship players and CNU won 47-26.

Sure a less expensive school is more alluring... If you can get in. (e.g. Teron Bush). And to say that CNU is more talented than the rest of the conference is a slap in the face of your own players. If you wish to continue, be my guest.

You can't give too many scholarships in one recruiting class. That's all Chowan had in 2005 when CNU played them. Ferrum and Wesley beat them handily in 2005 too.

The point is they still suck scholarships or not. People try to discredit what we did on the field just because we are a public school. A lot of our starters were 18 or 19yrs old when we won our first title so get over it, fact of the matter is the rest of the conference let kids come and take the crown from grown men.

While the 757 is a hot bed for some great talent there are a TON of schools to go to in Va. D3, d1 etc to play good football so by no means is it easy for coach K to get in talented athletes. Sorry I forgot, it's easy to tell a kid he is going to have to pay 14+ to go to CNU with his 3.2 GPA and 1100 SAT scores instead of accepting a full ride to HU, ODU, VT, UVA, W&M, JMU, UR to name a few or get a pretty hefty "academic scholarship" :o from some private D3 schools in this area to offset the schools cost.

I don't think CNU has really gotten any legit d1 athletes since my 2nd or 3rd year there. Not saying that the current guys do not have d1 talent just speaking in terms of the total package, height, weight etc. So would someone please name me a couple of stud 757 prospects CNU has landed over the last several years?

CHOWAN Braves!! Still talking about cultural, economic, and educational MECCA of northern NC!!

I hope they fixed that damn field since I played my last game there in 1976.

I miss playing in the snow at Lees-McRae. We could always win if it snowed. ;)

At 4:00am this morning, I tried to type a response to your post but suddenly, it was as if my hands turned to lead. So since it is a beautiful Sunday morning and the birds of conciliation are singing outside, allsky7 wants the world to know that he loves the CNU Captains....GOOO CAPTAINS!!! (except Oct 18th  ;)) I'll be tailgating that weekend so come on down....beverages on me.  ;D
