Seriously, though I hope Ferrum wins, good luck and health to both teams. The conference's playoff rep(-resentative and -utation) will hing on it!

All this talk of CNU being too one-dimensional to compete in the playoffs and we want to send the most one-dimensional team in the conference to the playoffs?  That would be great representation.  The one time Ferrum has represented the USA South in the playoffs they got handed a 59-14 loss to Wesley.

-- Falsely text me updates to Saturday's game saying that Ferrum keeps scoring and rolling up the yards, only for me to find out that the Panthers were really on the losing end of a 52-7 rout.

already thought of that one!

Kinda like the first time CNU went to the playoffs against Widener. I think CNU will do ok in the first round IF they get past Ferrum. The Bishop Beating FC took last week has me nervous. They are going to be ticked......NCW didn't do CNU any favors by stirring that hornet's nest.

You mean Panther's nest. ha ha.

That game has a chance to be played in under an hour with the clock only stopping for first downs.

Rush yards: CNU - 194, FC - 188 = 382 TOTAL
Pass yards: CNU - 78 , FC 118 = 196 TOTAL
Score:  CNU 27, FC 20

and i think the monarchs will win this weekend to finish on a 2 game win streak :)

Now that's funny right there!! Or he could serve you ostrich burgers like in the Miller High Life commercial. :D GO TIGERS...GO PANTHERS... GO SCOTS...GO LITTLE GIANTS!!! Little Giants? What the @%&*? LOL  OK Ryan, I know there has to be a story behind that nickname. Do tell.
     Safe travels.

The Little Giants moniker goes back to a coach who used it in 1905. A reporter from an Indianapolis newspaper heard him and ran with it in an article. It stuck! :)

I'm in the middle of Ohio now.....sigh.....6 hours down, 6 more to go.

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Yeah, but it was CNU's first year of existence, so even making the playoffs was a great accomplishment for that team.  Whereas, Ferrum has had football since Chris Warren wore a leather helmet there in the 50's.  :D

Not to take anything away from that Ferrum team (because they were very good), but it shows that being one-dimensional in the playoffs hurts you.

Either way, I hope CNU handles business this weekend so that we can represent the USA South in the playoffs.

Narch, the rushing comment was a rhetorical joke. But thanks for breaking it down! I do think Ferrum will pass more than normal since I expect them to be playing from behind early on.

CNU is gonna do it to em like we did it to em the last year I played 55-7 ouch.....

Goooo Caps!!!!

I have no intention of trying to be too rah rah about those pitiful Panthers. They really should not be but about 500 seeing as they are so one dimensional. You know if you take out the NCW game from the FC schedule, their cumulative margin of victory against conference teams was only 80 points. That's really not a lot to brag about when you look at how first they are so one dimensional, and they have the number 3 rated rushing offense in the country.

When you think about a CNU, who has the beast of the East in Ogun, who is ranked as the #1 rusher in the country, A team who has been getting votes to be in the top twenty five most of the season, and has finally landed at no. 23, you definitely think of a team who has been the dominate force in the USA South. So if you take the NC Wesleyan game out of their schedule, just to be fair, what would their cumulative margin of victory be against conference opponents?   80 points.

One dimensional or not, Ferrum will be there, ready to play, and yes hopefully ticked off after the NCW debacle. I may leave Pomoco disappointed on Saturday, but there are two things I will be thankful for. One is that I only live 30 mins. from the stadium, as opposed to driving to Ferrum last week, and two, that I am a Panther Fan! And who knows that one dimensional team may just surprise some folks!

Good luck to both!
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

I haven't seen either team in person this season but it seems like both teams are pretty one dimensional.  I would say that FC is more like 1.5 dimensional because it has always run the option so well and it's tough to shut all parts of an option attack down.  This game may actually come down to which team's QB steps up and makes a couple of big throws to win the game.  Either way it should be a good game!
