Allen C, we played one less game than you guys so cumulative doesn't really add up. I will however say that the game we missed out on may have ended badly for us. And what games were you counting? all of them or just conference? If we are talking conference then I get 53 points for Ferrum and 81 for CNU. You can't ignore the butt kicking from NCWC.

Nevertheless, its going to be an exciting game. Here comes that junky twitch again.

OOO! OOO! OOO! CNUUUUU!!!!!!!

If you had been there last week, you would understand why I want to ignore it.  :)

I was just talking conference.

Is that where your from originally or did you end up there after Ferrum?

Originally from Mecklenburg County Va, but finished H.S in Williamsburg (Lafayette 1978) Moved here when I was 15. I have lived in a lot of different places in VA., but am back here now as my Mom needs to have someone a little closer. She is 82.

Did you see the D3.com playoff projections? Looks like Pat has CNU in against Muhlenburg. Win or lose, thats a tall order for CNU or Ferrum.

I really think it will be a good game. Ferrum is not as bad as they looked against NCW.

Allen C,

No need to get so defensive.  I never once stated that CNU was gonna walk away with this game and I know how big a game this is because I played in 4 CNU/Ferrum games and all 4 were the biggest of the season.  The simple fact I was making is how everybody on the board has said that CNU can't win in the playoffs because they are too one dimensional.  But Ferrum is more one dimensional than CNU, so I wasn't understanding Tipps' point that it was best for Ferrum to represent our conference.

As for Ferrum being in the top 10 in the nation in rushing, that team that lost in the playoffs also was in the top 10(I believe #3 heading into the playoffs) and they still got spanked.  So my point was that whoever makes it to the playoffs from the USA South needs to have a little passing to keep playoff defenses honest.  Just stating the facts.

My bad Allen. I didn't even see the line about comparing conference and dropping the NCWC score. And despite CNUalum9 being so dang objective. Im gonna go ahead put on my blue tinted glasses and say we are gonna kick your butts.

Bring on the Panthers! Go CNU!!!

9,

I remember the playoff game well. I drove to Delaware to see it, and as I was not sure exactly where I was going, when I drove past the stadium, They were playing the national anthem. When I found a parking spot, I had to figure out where the ticket booth was. I got to the ticket booth, and as I was getting the ticket Wesley kicked off. By the time I got the ticket and change in my hand, Ferrum had fumbled the kickoff, Wesley recovered and took it to the house for 6. That did not bother me much as I believed that the Panthers would make a game of it. The major highlight that day was that Chris Warren was at the game. (no leather helmet however) Things went from bad to worse that day as you know, and I drove home frustrated. Sad thing is the week before, I drove to Ferrum to see the 9-0 Panthers take on the Captains. I expected the game to be close, and we all know what happened there.
In that case, the only positive I could take was that I was living in Northern VA at the time, and Delaware was a much shorter drive than back to Ferrum. (had they won, they would have hosted)

I admit to being biased, and really have not followed CNU that close. You know that CNU is always ready to play hard, but I do think FC/CNU will match up better this year than in years past, but either team will have their hands full beyond that point!

For me this board is fun, and I am just glad to have something to post about in the last week. Yes it would be better if the passing game was as strong as the running, but the Triple option does not show the pass that often, At least from what I have ever seen. So we will rely on Vann, Patterson, Mayo, and Dobson, and hope to see action in week 12...even if it is against Muhlenburg.

Good luck!

Legs 33,

I respect the sentiment about the blue tinted glasses.  I would wear my black tinted ones, but I might miss the game. :)

As for the butt kickin' Maybe so....Maybe no  :)

Good luck!

Haha I love it! The suspense is killing me. Allen C, MomofFC best of luck to ya. I know the game is going to be fun. How could any last game of the season/championship game not be? I feel like a kid on christmas eve. Or a junky needing a fix, haha.

Allen C, I feel your pain about the Wesley game. I have travelled thousands of miles following CNU football. Its rare when I miss a game and I have seen every playoff game. That includes 3 losses to W&J, a loss to Bridgewater, a win over Salisbury and Muhlenburg and a trouncing by Widener in CNU 1st ever season. I also flew to Texas to be disappointed by UMHB dismantling my team last year. The point is, heartbreak is part of the game. 200+ teams in D-3 alone will have their season end in frustration. But the game needs fans like you willing to get dressed in your teams colors and drive hours to support their team. Win or lose. Call me crazy but if the championship game was in California and CNU was playing, I would be there.

Go Captains!

crazylegs...I don't call you "crazy".....you do!!   :D  After seeing both FC and CNU this year, my head says CNU by 10 but my heart says GO PANTHERS!! Mayo will have to make some plays like he did against Maryville and Ferrum will need to get some breaks.

GO SCOTS!!
