Im back in VA and have had 7 hours to digest what I saw at the game. CNU was effective running the ball for the most part. But I felt like we abandoned it after we got stopped once. We all knew what W&J was bringing to the table. they have run the same offense since God knows when. Short high percentage passes with one or two shots deep. They burned us quick in the first half and I know we were down a few scores but I knew the D would eventually crack down on em. You could sense the desperation.

Then BAM! Swallow was picked for a CNU TD! and all of a sudden that confidence was restored. It carried over to the 2nd half and we slowly fought our way back into the game. The guys fought hard. Damn hard. I could count about 10 plays that if just one had gone our way, we would be bringing home a W. Twice we had W&J stopped on 4&6 or so yet they converted. 1st drive we got down to the 3 and couldn't put it in. A bobbled onside that W&J comes up with. Little things here and there. But its the little things that get you beat.

Hats off to CNU. I know the players don't want to hear it but, W&J is a good team and you stood strong today. You handled yourselves like real men and never gave up.

I will be sleeping a little better this off season. More so than last year. 2009 could be the best ever for CNU football.

It's like a ghost town. Kinda eerie when I log on now. I guess my job is done here. Cheered on CNU. Pissed off the opposition. Dropped my karma to -25. Looks like a job well done. See you all next year! GO CNU!!!

Happy 2009 everyone!

Even though it January, I am still following on a far less active basis, D3 football and especially Ferrum.

Well Ferrum released it 2009 schedule, and it looks like a lot of changes to the order this year. Ferrum opens conference play at NC Wesleyan, and closes the regular season at Maryville TN. We lately had been playing CNU the last game of the season, but this year that game is a Halloween affair at Ferrum.  Trick. or Treat???

Also traditionally the Blue Ridge Folklife Festival is the last Saturday in October on the Ferrum Campus. It attracts thousands from all over. Unless that is changed, and I doubt that it will be, I would start trying to make your motel reservations now. There are not that many motels in that area.

Uncle Jessie

SU released its 2009 schedule yesterday.http://www.su.edu/athletics/master_schedule.cfm?sport=Football Some notable changes to the Hornets schedule are having Ferrum now the forth team they play in conference play as opposed to starting up conference play with them. The Hornets now open the conference season up with CNU and close out with Greensboro. Anyone know why the schedules were changed this year from years past? I hope this becomes a new thing. It makes things more interesting I feel than to have the same schedule year in year out. Also the Hornets announced yesterday that former  Washington Redskin great Joe Jacoby will now be a full time ast. coach. http://www.su.edu/athletics/hornets_news.cfm?spid=2235

Just want to update everyone in the south region.  Tunde is training very hard for this upcoming season.  He is now 223 pounds.  He has put on 5 pounds of muscle since the last game.  He is running track now to get his speed and agility up.  My nephew is ready to go and is going to get 2000 yards this season!!!!  The Nigerian Nightmare will be in everyones dreams.  Dont go to sleep.

Well I can understand your comment I did make some mistakes but it seems 225 yards and 3 touchdowns was not.

Tunde sounds like a great player, but sadly, with your last sentence (and I use that term loosely), you keep reinforcing ProudFightingScot's point!  I spot five!
