I think the kids name was Derek Fisher (that might not be it though). He went to ECU and at one time was leading the nation in rushing.  I think he got hurt pretty bad if my memory serves me right.

That Clinton team was absolutely loaded for about 4 years.  It seemed like all 22 starters went D1.
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

Another article in today's Greensboro News & Record about picketers in front of Greensboro College protesting the location of the new sports park in the Warnersville section just south of downtown.  GCP gave them everything they asked for, but now some of the residents still aren't happy.  Personally, I hope GC pulls the plug on it and looks elsewhere.  They're landlocked, however, so it may not be easy.

What can you say?

Where will a structure like that be preserved best outside of the local college?

HA.. Just read the article. What do you expect when the leader of the opposition group is named Otis. He should go back to Mayberry and lock himself up. I hope GC will be able to move forward with their plans for improvement!

Good thing they don't want to build it here in Pa. Our school district has been in litigation for over 15 years  with two of our high schools neighbors who have successfully stopped the construction of football field. The school is now 30 yrs old and our players have never had a true home game..
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

You know, I understand and appreciate the historical significance of J. C. Price School, but it's not as though it has real architectural or deep-rooted antebellum significance.  It's a fairly nondescript mid-twentieth century building in a part of town that sorely needs some revitalization.  In my opinion, Greensboro College will do more for the area economically (and from a preservation point of view) than any other entity.   In fact, in the current economy, I think they're the only viable entity.  I don't know GC President Craven Williams very well, but we do live in the same area of town and attend the same YMCA.  I could sense his frustration in the article ... that's the tone of a man ready to say "to heck with you!"

The cooler heads know it won't.
