Did we forget about the facility rating?...Oh well, it was just a thought.

Well, when someone starts mentioning drinks from the Islands...we get sidetracked!! :D

1. CNU - Div. 1-AA type stadium.  Only drawback is walk from locker rooms for home and away teams.
2. MARYVILLE-Obviously I'm biased, but a great atmosphere for college football.  Small locker rooms for visitors.  Very good turf on field.
3. SHENANDOAH-Great improvements in field and stadium. Could edge Maryville because of better locker room facilities for visitors.
4. FERRUM-Much improvement in the field and good atmosphere.  Big drawback is walk from locker rooms to stadium.
5. METHODIST-No stands behind the visitors bench is a big minus.  Small visiting locker rooms.  Made good field improvements this past year.
6. NC WESLEYAN-High School stadium.  Need to get your own field.
7. GREENSBORO-High School stadium. Ranks below NCW because they play night games so their 200 fans can come and watch the Pride play.
8. AVERETT-Terrible field.  Long walk to visitors locker room.  In fact, MC stays on the soccer field so they don't have to make the 1/4 mile walk to fieldhouse.  Visitors stands look like stands you see at 8-10 year old youth football games.

From a fan's and parents view:

1. CNU     Good field, good stands, nice facilities (restrooms etc.). Players have to walk a mile to get from locker rooms to field (both teams), and the parking is good.
2. Maryville     Good field, stands and nice facilities. Visitors have to walk over to home side for restrooms and concessions. parking is right there and you are able to tail gate. Locker rooms are close to field. Visitor stands could stand to be a little further back from players bench. Moms get offended when some of the players and/or coaches say things they shouldn't.
3. Shennadoah   Good field, good stands, nice facilities. For the players the locker rooms are right there at the end zone. For visitors, they have to go outside the gates and walk completely around the out skirts of the stadium and go back in the gates to get to concessions. Parking is in the middle of a cow pasture of sorts and if you want to tail gate they put you at the very back which is another 1/4 mile walk.
4. Ferrum    Nice stands, facilities. (I think the field has a few holes especially near the end zones) restrooms are close as is concessions. Locker room for visitors is further than Averetts. Parking is OK, but if you want to tail gate you better be careful because you are right on the road in some cases.
5. NCWC      Yes it is a public city supported/high school stadium but at least there are plenty of seats for visitors, parking is close to gates, concessions both sides as well as bathrooms. Field was OK last time we went but the drought got to it the following year. This year they played at a different stadium and that one was the pits.
6. Methodist      no visitor seats. Visitors have to sit with home crowd. Field is average, seen worst. Parking OK, limited space to tail gate unless you go on the other side of the gym. Visiting team has to climb a mountain to get to their locker rooms. Only has portables for rest rooms, have to stand in line with everyone else.
7. Greensboro     Lets just say that the college needs to provide the football team its own place to call home. The place they play now is older than I am. visiting team has no room on side lines for kickers to warm up. Bathrooms are the pits....I would prefer to go in the woods and take my chances with the snakes. Been there twice and everytime the toilets are stopped up with everything you can think of, smells terrible and just plain dirty.
8. Averett      Now you would think I would have them higher on the list but lets see......terrible field, stays too wet and by the time the football team plays a home game the soccer team has torn it all to hell. Locker rooms are right there for home team but they have to separate the team for half time meetings because of tight quarters. Visitors have no where to go but 1/4 mile across a hot parking lot and dress in small rooms in the center. (gym). Teams are exposed to roudy fans at times (drunk) and they get harrassed. Security no where to be found except when you ring your cow bell then they want to get smart. No real concession stands only portable trailers with limited food and drinks. Vistor stands suck. Home stands suck. Public address system is terrible. No real bathrooms unless you walk the 1/4 mile across the parking lot and go to the gym. Otherwise you stand in line for a hot, smelly portable. They have the space and potential do build something great like the other schools but no one is coming up with the money. The city of Danville doesn't support the events and half the student population doesn't support either. I have never seen more than 3 or 4 staff and professors at a game. No lights for possible night or late games, practice field is in a swamp almost. When we first started attending games there was only us and 2 other familes that tail gated. That finally caught on a little but not like the other schools. At least they have great coaches who care and players who want to play regardless of the surroundings. I better get off my box or someone is going to blast me.......

Out of conference teams we have played all have great facilities,
Mt Union, Guilford, W&L, Wesley, and Bridgewater.

I can't tell you how many guys left the team, but the 2002 Chowan Braves were 0-10.  In fact, despite his resume, Saban lost more than he won pretty much everywhere he coached ... except maybe Alfred where he left the program before his team every played a game.

What's rhum?   :D :D :D
the high quality stuff...

Rhum is definitely the HIGH quality stuff that you generally only get down in the islands.  ABN when we pull into port down there and it rhum gets going, we're the ones who need rescuing  ;D

It's been so long since played I don't remember one field from another.  Ferrum had a pretty nice field and the back drop of the hill rising up out of one of the endzones is pretty cool in the fall.  Ferrum was the only place where I ever got a beer bottle thrown at me though! (it was shame it was empty)
Any fool can circumnavigate the world sober...it takes a real sailor to do it drunk!!!

NFL scouts are coming to CNU to lok at South Region POY Tunde Ogun.  His 6"0-228 lb frame should impress the scouts  as they take him thru combine drills.
