Thanks for the link.

Oops!  Too bad even this report can't correctly spell Shenandoah.  No wonder the Hornets are jumping ship!  :)

OGUN2K,

Has your nephew mentioned the offensive line and/or any potential passing game this year?  Tunde's an incredible back, but if we don't have the horses up front and no threat of a passing game, it may not matter much.  Coach Antolik usually has a pretty solid line, but I can see our opponents licking their chops if they don't have to defend the pass.

As to the sound issue, it appeared that the conference used a microphone to pick up sound from the speaker system. From what I've seen done other places that begs for trouble, taking audio from amped up audio, kind of like the guy who calls you 'happy' and wants to share the concert he's at via cell phone.
Most broadcast meetings I've seen have the sound run out of the amp as a direct feed into the webcast either through a direct line with software to adjust volume or with a box similar to how radio stations capture sound from public meetings.

It was a little tame. Sypult didn't have enough material this year and Kelchner was better one on one though he did admonish those who suggested doing away with media day. (Don't know if someone on CNU staff shares board posts, or if he reads, or if there is someone else expressing that opinion somewhere). Ierulli did offer up some brief final remarks about media day location but couched it pretty well as media day being a  benefit to the school that holds it so that it needs to go campus to campus, which would include Maryville. I didn't see the commissioner smile once while he was up.

If this is going to be the norm I hope that 1) the webcast issues get resolved but also 2) that fans can be included by submitting questions to the moderator live and that 3) coaches could be set up at a table for a designated 10-minute span for media to do one on one. You don't really make anyone comfortable doing an interview while they are trying to eat and either get on the road home or head to the golf course.

Other teams in our conference may not have stopped him, but the elite teams you meet in the playoffs have bigger, better athletes.  CNU really needs to make a solid run in the playoffs to take the next step towards becoming a great program.

GO CAPS!

Long's the ultimate competitor, but he's just not a passer, and I think he'd admit this much.  If he could manage to develop a short, consistent passing game, that would probably be enough to keep the defense off balance.  I know the running game is CNU's bread and butter, but they could potentially have a heck of a season with a little more versatility.

GO CAPS!

Any CNU fans heading to Dover for game 1? My dad, my brother and I will be there in full support as always. I curious to see how well our defense does this year. Yeah, we won the conference last year, but we allowed way too many points.

My wife and I are planning on going at this point, but some recent news may end up changing that.  If CNU could pull off the upset at Wesley, that could really set the tone for things to come.

By the way, I'm not trying to bash Long at quarterback, just stating the obvious....that's for whoever dinged my karma.

GO CAPS!

Good to see we have some support coming.

I definitely would have to agree that an upset would the spark we need to get the wheels in motion for a great season. In the past we have upset a few teams early in the year. I wouldn't be suprised to see one this year. I still think it all hinges on how well the defense looks this year. We know how well we can run the ball but that's just not enough to beat top level teams. We shall see.

And Swish, don't sweat the Karma. Just take a look at mine! haha

ognuk i want to see an upset too.  when greensboro plays cnu

But CNU beating Greensboro is not an upset.

moshergc9

Its possible.

Our O Cordinator at least has years and years of experience running his offense and our D Cordiantor has put together some good units.  It will be interesting to see what approach the new head coach takes.  We can get kids into the school but can we get some quality and depth at online.  skill positions seem to take care of themselves at gc.  the line is what we need.  I think Gc probally wins 3-4 games this year but you never know a 6 game win season could happen but so could an 0-10 or 2-8 as well...
