The CNU Oguns...I mean Captains will hopefully pull off the upset this weekend.  As long as the scrub QB doesn't blow it for them(the same QB that was voted for by his teammates as the team captain).

Ogun at 6', 225lbs. and 4.4 speed! I have a question, Why didn't a Div I or Div II school pick him up? Just curious!

Im not completely sure but I believe he was at a D1 school before he came to CNU, I think it was Cincinnati.  I think thats what i originally heard when he came to CNU.

:)Thanks for the info, CNUFan.  With those abilities I could not imagine how he slipped through. Good catch for CNU though!

According to the information on the CNU website, he walked on at Cincinnati.

before this heads off in the wrong direction, let me just say this...i don't care if tunde ogun runs a 5 flat in the 40...he's a beast and he's plenty fast for what cnu needs him to do

i just think that 4.4 is a time that is thrown around a lot, but few actually acheive it - i had at least 6 or 7 high school football/baseball teammates that said they ran a 4.4 (and i've talked to countless high school/college football players that said the same), but when the stopwatch came out, they didn't...if someone tells me they run a 4.6, i'm actually more impressed because i think it's probably legit and they're faster than probably 95% of the football playing population

I know a few kids who run under 4.4!!! The ones that don't get caught on mischief night  ;) Because if you don't run that fast mom and dad have to come and get you at the local pokie!!!  ;D
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

Was looking at kickoff predictions and the first few weeks looks kind of dismal. Take a look at the projected nonconference records.

Methodist 2-1
Greensboro 2-1
Averett 2-1
Christopher Newport 1-2
North Carolina Wesleyan 1-2
Ferrum 1-2
Shenandoah 1-2
Maryville 0-3

That's 10-14 overall. Glad season is here but if that crystal ball isn't overly cloudy I may cheer for October to get here. But then that's why they play the games.

rocket,

i ran a 5.6,

thats why you got in the end zone on that option play my senior year.  still sneaky quick enough to pick you when you were a rookie.

Wow I would have to question a few of those.
I would say
FC 3-0
CNU 2-1
Averett 2-1
GC, NCW, Methodist, and SU 1-2
Maryville 0-3

That makes it 11-13..Still not too good.

Just my guess
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

Ogun is a beast, and he scored at least one touchdown in 9 of their 11 games....Wilkes and Ferrum kept him out of the End Zone.

I am sure he will have another stellar year...

Good Luck to everyone's favorite team.

Sounds like he is well travelled! Just how old is this guy now? Just Curious!

if that youtube video has an electronically timed 40 showing a 4.4, i'll eat my words...

How does methadist look this year
i'll let you know how methOdist looks after this weekend - i think (hope, pray) that they will be better than last year, but there really is nowhere but up for the monarchs to go after the season they endured last year - i like the qb, the rb situation is solid with mcguire and scales at rb and layton at fb - i'm hearing that there is a lot of talent at the wr position ("10 deep" is the word i heard) - the o-line has experience but isn't super deep - on the defensive side, there are some nice returners and a really good newcomer on the line but the back end has a lot of losses...we'll see what transpires, but i think 4-6 wins is possible, maybe more if guys gel quickly and the returning talent improved a lot...hopefully no less, though :)

by the way...you should drop $9.95 and buy D3football.com Kickoff...you'll know what EVERY division III program looks like this year!
