Are you going to take a shot at the Randolph Macon/John Hopkins game?

2-0 pride???

can it be done
Mosh

Mosh. Now.... do not get too "excited". We will have to change your underwear.  ;)GC-Q has about 7 yards rushing; however, I do hope the Hank Norton Mutants go down to the Pride

I might be a little behind the times, but I just realized that the new Off. Crdntr. for Greensboro College is the father of MU's Teague. That should make for an interesting game.
Teague's record at Reidsville (NC) HS was impressive.  Not unusual to see 45+ points every game and it was an upset if the Rams didn't win the state title (lots of 14-1 and even 15-0 records on his resume).  I saw some of his style in the GCP/GCQ game last Saturday.  Not sure what year MU's QB is, but I know he went to Methodist before his Dad opted to leave HS coaching and then join GCP.  Don't be surprised if Teague Sr. becomes a college HC before it's over.

abngr,

your right if they are 2-0 i will be pretty excited and narch will owe the pride an apology for his lousy prediction.

i was only able to watch a little of the last game online but i didnt see the offense gel at all.  hopefully another week of practice gets them going.

Not sure I understand this one....
Last I saw, you guys are playing Emory and Henry this week. I think you can beat them....Ferrum should have.
BEWARE THE BLACK HATS!

nice win for the bishops

the monarchs pulled off an exciting 20-19 win today...reggie scales had 17 carries for 190+ yards and two td's...the monarchs made LOTS of mistakes (4 to's, a couple of really bad penalties) but still found a way to win in the end

i thought this last week, and i think it again this week...reggie scales needs to touch the ball 25 times per game...he's got a chance to be pretty special

speaking of special...#1 for gcq is just that...he played qb, tb, wb, wr and produced at each position

narch, thanks for the update and congratulations to the Monarchs.  I wanted to go to Fayetteville today, but just had too much going on.  Sounded as though it was anyone's game ... right down to GCQ's missed 39-yard FG attempt to end the game.   Parker (#1) is a special player - I look forward to seeing him again in person versus AU under the lights next Saturday in Greensboro.  Good luck to Methodist the rest of the season.

Hey, everyone.  I know this is a football forum, but watch this video to see the only goal scored in Guilford's Sept. 9 women's soccer win over Greensboro.  Be patient, it's about 2 min 13 sec into the piece - and worth it.  Besides, you get to see the new look at Armfield Athletic Center.  Enjoy!

Narch, congrats on a nice win for Methodist yesterday. I do believe your boys are back and I wish them well the remainder of the season ( Exception being the NCWC matchup, naturally)

If you think your local paper does a poor job of covering your team, read this excerpt from the Greensboro News & Record's staff report of the E&H at Greensboro game:

"I give credit to Emory & Henry, they played mistake-free football, " said Guilford College coach Dr. Randy Hunt.  "They capitalized on our mistakes.  We can win a game like that, if not for a few bad plays."

I wish I'd kept count over the years where they've used the college names and mascots interchangeably.  It's a shame when your hometown newspaper doesn't employ people knowledgeable or caring enough to distinguish between two colleges in the city that both pre-date (Guilford 1837, Greensboro 1838) the newspaper itself.  :(

Can any of you guys from Greensboro tell me if there is a decent hotel close to the stadium? Any recommendations on a good place to eat while we are down there?

Thanks

There are at least 20 different chains within 5 miles or so of Guilford - and Armfield Athletic Stadium is on campus in the northwest part of Greensboro.  The college is on the corner of Friendly Ave and New Garden Rd.  New Garden Rd leads you to the college from US 220 and Bryan Blvd while Friendly Ave leads you in from I-73.  On the other side of Friendly Ave is Guilford College Rd which leads you in from I-40.   Easy.

There are so many, I can't name the hotels, but look for things near the Airport/Hwy 68 (Exit 210), Guilford College Rd (Exit 213), Wendover Ave (Exit 214) or Battleground Ave in the northwest or west side of town.

Same with restaurants - at least a hundred close by.  I'd probably go with Red Robin (burgers), Chili's, Tripp's, Buffalo Wings, East Coast Wings, Salsaritas, J. Butler's Bar & Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Phoenix Asian Cuisine, Ham's (American) - all on New Garden within 1-3 miles north of the college or Elizabeth's (Italian) and Poblano's (Mexican) just around the corner on Battleground Ave.  Fast food chains, of course, are everywhere - across the street from the college and every road leading in.

Hope this helps!
