The  USA Conf. has been getting more competitive in the last 3 yrs.  What a good victory for Meth. If there will be a 3 way tie, I hope the system favors Meth.  As for CNU D. being exposed, will lets just say coaches up in the box coaches don't blitz good QB's enough per game. Coaches Ha ! CNU's Defense is young though but will mature in the long run. When the entire team developes a idenity of there own and the coaches play the right personnel in that 4 man down scheem

Narch I used to assume that you were a pretty smart guy but recently you have been making me wonder. "as far as mosh goes, we read his statement differently - you're still acting like an uneducated, immature punk to start threatening someone with imprints of your conference championship rings on a message board - i'm sure i'll be the next". 1 Don't ever question my education because you don't know anything about me. 2 I am far from being immature and I am far from being a punk. 3 as far as threatening Mosh with my championship rings that WAS SARCASM AND NOTHING MORE THAN A JOKE. Since you can read so well I guess you just missed the part where I wrote that I wouldn't waste my time with a pathetic individual like Mosh.  I guess since you and Mosh are private school best friends you can interpret what he writes one way and then omit half of what I post in another.

And you want to talk about me when I refer to last year stuff. CNU's offensive line was much better last year than what it is now. Those guys started all four years together and had great chemistry. Unlike Methodist they proved it not only aganinst conference teams but also against  good teams. Does Rowan 33 points scored, Salisbury 25 plus, and Bridgewater 21 ring a bell. They moved the ball against quality opponents and won big games all with a first year backup calling the signals.  As far as CNU getting a lot of the All conference selections in the past I would have to say that those players where selected by the other coaches including Methodist very own. Everyone knows that the winners of the conference should and normally does get the most players on the all conference teams.

"good luck to your boys when they play ferrum...i'll be rooting hard for the captains that day, and that day only"

The Captains and our fans know that every other team in our conference hates us so we could give a (you know what if anyone in this conference besides our fans root for us). Everything we have accomplished in the past and will accomplish in the future was done for our school, fans, staff, and players. We don't need your luck or your support if it is not sincere.

I will say that if the Captains don't win the conference and don't get the AQ, I would hope that MC gets its shot. Not because I give a damn about MC or Narch but I do like the Rocket. The guy is a leader on the field and he plays hard. Last year Rocket was fired up and talking a lot of trash before and during the game along with the rest of his teammates. But after our defense took control of the game he continued to play hard but his friendly trash talk stopped. His teammates however(the monarch great offensive linemen) resulted to playing dirty and spitting in defenders faces. When Rocket heard his teammates talking trash during the game he told them to shut up and stop talking about it but instead start proving it with their play.  Unlike Mosh who was a scrub, Rocket gained my respect with his play and actions on the field and not with posting on the web of how much of a hard nosed player he was.

Hmm, yeah, that really puts things in a different light, right? :)

Ferrum 41, Guilford 7
Ferrum 29, E&H 13
Ferrum 34, Shenandoah 13

Bridgewater 62, Guilford 46
Bridgewater 31, E&H 17
Bridgewater 49, Shenandoah 20
       Ferrum +71, BC +59
My only point is if BC is #14 in the Coaches poll Ferrum should be top 25 and they might be this week. If BC is #20 in the d3 poll then Ferrum should at least crack the top 30.

By far the best thing that happened this season so far is seeing the captains lose to a usac private school.

Love it.

finest - we may have to agree to disagree...when i saw that mosh wrote that he had some "dialogue" with other former players and invited you to "get up with him", i assumed he was talking about ironing things out in a mature, educated, adult fashion...you thought he was talking about a fist-fight - i'm not sure who is right, but having seen mosh mature on this board from a trash talking player (i believe i called him a punk after some of his early posts) to someone who actually provides interesting insight into the life of a former player and current coach, i like to think that my interpretation of his comments was closer than yours - your post SAID you wouldn't waste time on mosh, and then you spent the next 7 lines degrading him and his play, and threatening to, in essence, beat him up...you've taken further posts to continue to assert that mosh was a scrub (my interpretation of your words) - in my book that's the type of thing an uneducated, immature, punk would do - sorry that i missed the sarcasm or the joke

jeremyboyzz - that's interesting analysis...maybe bc is overrated :) - seriously though, i think ferrum moving up 4 spots with a bye week is pretty good - i know they jumped over wesley, who had previously been in the top 25 - did a lot of the teams just outside of the top 25, but ahead of fc lose?...if not, you can't expect much gain - you can argue that fc should have been ranked higher to begin with (which, by the way, has already been done ad nauseum by the fc fans), but i don't think that you can expect an idle team to move up more than 3 or 4 spots unless a lot of teams in front of them lose

Narc, (and Uncle Jessie),

Thanks for the well wishes for Jon (Hoffman). Uncle Jess no need to explain yourself. This has been a tough year for all. Obviously you can understand we are devistated by the career ending injury ie: for things to end this way. Jon looked at me from the hoispital bed as I was visibly upset and said.."We've had a hellva ride haven't we Dad" He is a tough kid and will be there to support his team and coaches from the sideline.....tonite I have to shake myself out of this and take my 40 boys out and play a non district game that was cancelled on Friday. I know that SU and the USASAC was not Southern Cal or Notre Dame ..but it was for me and I could not be any prouder of my son, his teamates, and the SU coaches for all their efforts these past 4 years. All will be fine ....
                                                                 Thanks again, Jim

LOL... I Love it!!! Mosh is still on the private v public thing...the dead horse we beat the past few years. A great victory for MC and all Mosh can come up with is way to go MC for beating a public school. It happens every weekend and he makes it sound like Rapture. I think his headstone will read (70 years from now) CNU lost to a private school in 2005. Let's see CNU has lost to Ferrum, SU, and MC.

Narch - I'll have to admit, if I could pick any USA South team to beat CNU this year, it would have been your guys. SU is off this year for some reason (I think they've given up). I knew the CNU streak against NC schools would eventaully end.....glad it was to you guys and Rocket.

I listened to most of the game on radio. MC was bringing it in the first half. Then they gutted out a nice performance by CNU in the second half. I thought for sure CNU would win when they scored early in the 4th to cut the lead to 7. But MC did a gut check and got r done.

As far as your hoops comment.....the only thing I whine about is the scheduling!! I freaking can't wait until the 2 games against Maryland Bible - at the Freeman Center!!

narch

ballcoach - tell jon we're sorry that he's going to miss playing in the first ever victory for the monarchs over su  :D

'85 - i must admit, the last 2 years, the only whining cnu hoops fans have done has been in regard to cj...that's what happens when you go from being dominant to being and also ran :) - we'll see if this football season is a sign of things to come and this conference will be wide open, or if the universe straightens back out and we go back to cnu and whomever they tie (since they haven't won an outright title yet :)) - you've got to admit that it's just much more fun when everyone has a chance every week

starting to get focused on m'ville...it's tough for me as a fan...i hope the players don't have the same problem - with gc, au, su, ncwc it was easy to get focused when they started playing mc...they were known entities because they were already conference schools in other sports and in the case of gc and ncwc there were some state bragging rights at stake - the rivalries had already been established - although we play m'ville fairly regularly in hoops, i just know nothing about them on the gridiron - i thought we'd have some m'ville posters since they're pretty active on the hoops board, but i guess it's a basketball school in their fans eyes - statistically, this should be a one-sided game, but they don't play games on a computer and there is a 9 hour bus trip involved - the monarchs can't let the high of this win cloud their performance next week - beating cnu means NOTHING unless the monarchs win out and have a chance to get into the ncaa playoffs

Mville wont be easy I dont think, narch. They did have Ferrum's number for much of that game until the fourth quarter. I dont think it will be as bad you think it will be narch. I think Mville will play it straight and will be close, for at least three quarters. Shoot, I could be wrong, and Methodist could blow their doors off, or, the Monarchs could have a huge let down and get beat. Thats why they play the game, right?

I'm hoping for a 3-way tie in 3 weeks, also I hope Meth. gets a playoff nod, for Mosh and Narch sake, maybe Meth. should, that would be great.  CNU needs to take a step back this year and revamp the entire team from coache's to the last player who dosen't travel.  Changes need to be made and the new young guys need to find a identity of there own.  Coache's need to take a new approach to there team, this is a different team from the original 4 year starter team.  Then all you Meth. fans, especially Mosh & Narch, CNU will come back next year with a whole new attitude and run the table like they are always preseason to be. Don't ever count CNU out.  As for the next CNU's 3 games they will be tough, especially Ferrum being that the game will be played up in the mountains, Ferrum won't go away easy, if they are 0-9, Ferrum plays like they are 10-0 against CNU, it's because they used to rule the conference, Narch & Mosh not Meth. Good game ROCK!

Agree to disagree or whatever. Bottom line is I don't care what you call me on a message board. Ha Ha you have seen Mosh mature as a poster but every time he says something about CNU it is negative. Mosh continues to try to kick my Captains while we are down, or when ever he DECIDES TO BRING UP THE PRIVATE VS PUBLIC CRAP. You and Pat Coleman can defend Mosh all you want but facts are facts. If Mosh wants to continue to wish bad luck on the Captains and when everytime we lose then he wants to speak up and rub it in our faces, I will continue to post what I want about him. You may assume that I am a punk, uneduacated, and immature all you want. But I know that Mosh was a scrub if he couldn't start for Gboro in his playing days. All this talk about me beating up on Mosh is funny because like I said I wouldn't waste my time.  Besides I did enough against his team on the field to settle any score I would  ever had with him. Narch you need to check yourself and what you post. If you could look back from post back in 02-05 you would see that Mosh has probably never said anything postive about my team and quite frankly I am tired of it. I hate Shenandoah with a passion but when they made it to the playoffs I was happy to hear during the game that they were winning.  I will wish any team from our conference luck if they make it to the post season because whoever goes takes the USA South playoff record there with them. The way I look at it back in 01 our conference was ranked dead last ouut of all the conferences in d3. Almost single handily we pulled our conference up to respectability.(And I said almost Narch so don't jump on me their). We took the lumps against Widener, Rowan, Bwater and some others to name a few. Now look at us, the people from Widener and Rowan have respect for our program. Not to mention that Bwater (a national power house have elected not to play us anymore right now because we were to tough of a team to play right before their HSC game and Mcdaniel dropped us as well. Did we get any congrats from a lot of our conference for that kind of stuff. NO! So look at things through CNU fans eyes for a while. When we win all we get is they are a public school crap from most conf. poster but when we lose its all fun and open season on CNU.   People on this board can smite me all they want for my opinions but they are mine and I have always stood up for what I believe. I give credit when credit is due and I tell the truth the way I see it.

When I was in high school my team sucked and in our best year we finished second in our district. I used to hate the teams that where always on top because I wished it could have been my team. What I didn't realize until I came to CNU was that the top teams worked hard for what they accomplished. Week in and week out CNU gets everyones best.  We have to prepare for every team like its the super bowl because for them it is. Mosh keeps down playing our accomplishments like the things we did where easy because we are a public school and we have very nice facilities. Bottom line is if he had enough money to go to Gboro then he could have just as easily signed up to come to CNU. All the time people keep talking about the talent enriched 757. But lets take a look at the bigger picture. Look at all of the d3 schools, d2, d1AA, and d1 schools that also heavily recruit this area.  Im not even going to mention that it is hard as crap for anyone to get into CNU these days. And oh yeah ODU is getting a team in a few years so I think the VA pool is getting rather dry.   Bottom line is I don't care who trash talks CNU or boo our team when we come to town because it is only natural. But when people in our conference don't have nothing to say about us when we are bashing their teams head in, don't come on here and yell hip hop hooray when we lose to another team.
