My condolences to the Harris family, Maryville College and their friends.

The team found out near the end of practice that Russ Harris died in a diving accident of the coast of Sarasota, FL.  Russ is from Venice, FL and was with his father and two other friends.  Russ was an avid outdoorsman and has always scuba dive and free dive since he was a young boy.  While free diving (without an air tank-basically holding your breath), Russ did not return to the boat and was found unconscious under water by his father.  Resesciation attempts failed.

Russ was a tough player, great leader and fan favorite for the Fighting Scots.  He overcame two major injuries.  He broke his leg against Ferrum in 2005 during his first start as a freshman.  Ferrum fans may still remember that injury.  Started every game as a sophomore.  A torn ACL in the first game in 2007 finished Russ during his junior year.  Though injured during 2 of first 3 years at MC, Russ was named captain in 2008 and was second team All-USA South.  Russ was the winner of the 2008 Fighting Scot Award which is Maryville's most prestigious award.

I will forward the followup stories as they appear.  I'm sure batterboard will include a story about Russ this week.

Please pray for Russ and his family during these next few days.....

NCWC - but don't be surprised if Greensboro keeps it close or even wins.  Innovative coach and they are improving
Averett - all depends if they can have a balanced offensive attack.  If weather is a factor it could  hurt them.  CNU has to show it can throw otherwise AU will be able to shutdown the rush.

Maryville - if they keep the pressure on they will blow out shenandoah. Liek they should have with methodist

Ferrum - Methodist doesnt have the speed to stop ferrums triple option. never has.
NCWC - Sorry greensboro, you will steal one this year but not against NCWC.
CNU - If CNU puts it together they will run away with this one. Otherwise They win in OT again.

PFS, fights during the CNU game? haha what makes you say that? Expecting a tense one?

509 rushing yards on 72 attempts. I have to admit even I didn't think CNU would do that as they roll 43-12.
