SU's punter, Nic Hoover just may have saved the day for the Hornets as a bad snap sailed over his head on his own 20yrd line and somehow got the punt off and it rolled to Maryville's 22yrd.  On MV's 1st play, QB gets hit as he is in the motion of passing and SU intercepts.  SU looking to score and seal the deal ... less than 4mins.

MV's has defensive pass interference called on them in the endzone, gives SU a huge break.

1st and 10 at MV's 20 for SU.

SU (19) MV (14)

MV returns kickoff to midfield ... less than 2mins.

19-14 Shenandoah.  Merry Christmas as they still haven't figured out what offensive pass interference is in the USA South.

Maryville Wins!  Awesome game and good comeback!  SU was what they showed last week against CNU.  They are a very good Football team!

Congrats to Maryville.  It was a great game to watch.

As for SU, they are very close, but just not getting over the hump.  The kids played hard again.  Something has to break soon for the Hornets.

SU is right there Milby.  Those wins will come.

WOW sounds like Maryville and SU went toe to toe, and gave the fans their money's worth.  Ferrum wins over Methodist, but not before the MU qb went wild in the fourth quarter and brought his team to a respectable finish.

It only gets more difficult for the Panthers.

KEEPING IT REAL

Good job CNU for the strong performance.  Great job Tunde setting 2 records.  Defense did their job today, and great 4 and 2 call for the fake punt, they never saw it coming.  Big one next week!

I didn't see CNU game and haven't seen box score yet. Anyone know why CNU scored with 1.8 seconds left in game? That's what the story said on cnusports.com

KEEPING IT REAL

They put their 3rd string in and just happened to score.  They were just running the time out and Gaines got free.  It was just poor tackeling.  You missed a great performance by the team.

big game for preston today, albeit too little too late...

ferrum 49 - methodist 35

2nd string qb went down in the 1st half.   Teague was out with hamstring injury.  Preston (3rd string??????????) came in and put on an exhibition. Doesn't run as well as Teague or Murphy but has a very live arm. 28 points in the 4th quarter.  Ferrum is very fast offensively.  Not much of a passing attack and runs the triple option so-so.  Methodist exposed their biggest weakness, just a little to late.  For anybody getting ready to play Ferrum, they have a very hard time against the spread offense.  It didn't hurt that MU has a stable of recievers as good as anybody in the USA South.  I think 7 different guys had multiple catches.

MU showed more positive improvement.  Defensively they struggled reading the triple option and the secondary needs some work.  Scales is getting back into his form.  He was really initiating contact and ran well.

What initially looked like a blow out ended up being a respectable game.  When they put it all together, they will be able to compete with most everyone in conference.
