musupporter - you must have been a little more pleased with the defensive game-plan this weekend...much more blitzing than we saw early in the season (although the su offense still moved the ball pretty effectively between the 20's)

while i hate that mosko missed the kick at the end of regulation, in a way, i'm glad he did...the mu clock operator was pretty generous leaving one second for the monarchs to attempt that kick...i would have hated feeling like the monarchs won a cheap one - the way it ended was very exciting and appropriate

I am pleased with the effort of the entire team.  They have played extremely well the last 3 weeks with a lot more intensity.  Their turnovers have decreased and take aways increased.  Couple of times during the game I thought they needed their entire starting defense on the field, especially inside the 20.  Great win for a program finding its way.  2-1 in the USA South is easier to say than 2-4.

I honestly don't know what the deal with SU is.  They have a team full of studs.  Chemistry may be all wrong.  An athletic team to say the least.

musupporter

Narch, did you see the interception where the ball bounced off the ref and into the SU players hands?

To Narch and musupporter....Great win for Methodist. From what I have seen in the statistics this is a team that has improved each game. Congrats on a very good, confidence building win for Methodist!

I haven't looked but would be curious as to where the MU offense ranks in some of the stats.  I think they are finding ways to win lately instead of ways to lose.  Tough teams ahead.  Hope there enough ways left. ;D

KEEPING IT REAL

Good to see someone give a congrats other than someone else make a sarcastic remark because they are disapointed.

Any CNU fan should be disappointed with a 35-7 blowout loss in a must-win game at home.  If it were between him getting the rushing title or CNU going to the playoffs which would he want?  That's the only point I was making.  You usually have a great deal of insight on how each game went, but for this game the only comment left was about him getting the rushing title.  To me, that's insignificant in a 35-7 loss.

It would have also helped if he would have actually broken the record.  He is still over 100 yards short of the record by Roland Hilliard, who also set the record in 3 years.  We could have used the extra 122 yards he is trailing Roland in the game on Saturday.

KEEPING IT REAL

I'm not going to discuss that game because it is what it is.  Anything can happen and just maybe they can get in.  That is a positive not a negative. If you were at the game you tell me what you saw and maybe I can understand because I wasn't there, I was attending NC STATE game.

from my vantage i couldn't tell what happened, but the ball changed direction mid-flight, so i knew it either hit someone or the su coaching staff was practicing black magic to change the trajectory of the ball...figured it was probably the former :)

teague had a sharp first half...not as sharp in the second, but good enough to get the w - i hope the boys have four more weeks of that type of effort going forward

I try to stay out of this kind of talk, but I have to defend the Bishops to a certain extent....Could it be possible the Bishops just outplayed CNU on this given day? As I said in an earlier comment before the game was ever played. I hoped it would be a well faought game and the score would be close. The Bishops played one heckava game. It is over, regardless of the fumbles or the 130 yds. in penalties the Bishops amassed! I would be upset if my team lost, but It's over. it is time to move on!( Pardon my Spelling)  :)

Bishop64,

You are absolutely right.  CNU was out-played in every aspect of the game.    You don't have to defend NCWC because nobody has said anything bad about them.  NCWC was stronger, faster and played with more effort then the Captains this weekend.  They are the better team and it showed on Saturday.  At CNU we pride ourselves on having a huge homefield advantage and got embarassed at home on Saturday - plain and simple.  But Keeping it Real is right, anything can happen so I'm sure the boys will keep on fighting until the season is over.

I know the feeling. The Bishops got their clock wiped the first game of the season against HSU. It happens. I guess that is what makes us all want to come back for more. Good luck to CNU the rest of the way. As the old saying goes, it ain't over till it's over.

Last question - is Wesley Idelette the younger brother of Willie Idelette who played at Wake Forest a few years back?

You are right WFU34.  Wesley's brother played at Wake Forest and is playing area football.  Probably the same league where AU's former receiver is playing.  The Idlette's are from Chattanooga.

Was very impressed with Squillini.  Your defense took Idlette away from our offense.  He was a non-factor in the game after the 1st quarter.  Wesley's is our difference maker on offense and he didn't even touch the ball the last 3 quarters of the game.  Seems like we forgot about him..... :(
