musupporter,

I have said my share of things that were very inaccurate.  If I were you I would stay and stand behind my statements.  you might be in the heat for a few weeks but all will be forgiven.

My thoughts, Sypult built the program?  They have some good things happening, have dominated nc for awhile but now are not.  Its like cards, good hands, bad ones, you just have to wait for the swing.  It only took Greensboro College 7yrs for the swing to put us at 500 and im happy to see it.

I can honestly say I have now witnessed the ugliest performance by a college football team ever.  From the officiating, to the execution, to the uncontolled emotion, just an overall poor performance by the MU football team.

Officiating, worst ever on both sides of the line.  Didn't affect GC because they were handling business.  Wouldn't have changed the outcome, but it was bad.

Execution = Defense is bad.  It was apparent Sypult should not be leading this team.  It was with out a doubt his decision not to play one of his junior d-lineman after he jumped offsides.  Certainly it wasn't the penalty that ended his game.  If that were the case he would have benched most of his team.  The lineman he benched played 3 games injured for Sypult, missed a game and only played 2 series against GC yet he still has 1.5 more tackles than one of his replacements and 3 more than the other.  Great job Sypult.  You are way past your time.

Offense - played decent, especially the o-line.  Apparently in this league if you completely blow someone up it is considered unnecessary roughness.  Teague played good.  But remember they run what the coach tells them to.  With the number of yards they compiled in the 4th quarter, why were those plays not called the entire game.

I really fel bad for the upperclassmen thast have devoted the last 3=4 years to a coach who cannot get them there.  Sure he is a great man and all the nice things that need to be said but his record speaks for itself.  HE CANNOT TAKE A TEAM OF AVERAGE PLAYERS AND GET THEM OVER THE TOP.  HIS TIME IS OVER.

One more thing.  Kickoff team, if you are going to do the chant and the dance, please don't allow an average kickoff return of more than 30 yards.  It just looks stupid.

It is very sad to see someone down a program as much as this person has this year. Stopp smearing the team and coaches and start to support MU like your name claims. Internet coaches always know a better way for some reason.

Sypult. Well he built the team. I've met the guy and his staff. They are good people. They are doing what they can with what they have.

He keeps about 80 or so odd kids off the street and doing something productive. Alumni love homecoming football games

I like to win too and will do almost anything to do so (and probably have).

There is a parallel here with GC-Q and MU (Coach Mike Ketchem). Iron Mike did not get the tools his sucessor got and people called for his head too.

Iron Mike did not even get coaches that were over 24 years old except for a couple retired HS coahes. The facilities were horrific. They fire him and build facilities and get coaches.

Coach Sypult might get the same ax but I hope not. His staff is not bad but the stadium could use a huge upgrade. Might help to get that next "Rocket" QB and a few linemen.
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

CNU was not on the radar to win the conference this year?  That's funny, I seem to remember CNU having a pre-season ranking of #20 and the coaches voting CNU to repeat as conference champs, which I believe was unanimous.  Then, if that wasn't bad enough, you follow it up w/another bonehead statement about your thoughts being confirmed once CNU beat Salisbury.  ::)

Thank goodness you won't be posting anymore....

GO CAPS!

By the way, congrats on the win, PFS....the sportsmanship displayed by the Scots was very admirable.  It showed me the level of respect Maryville has for CNU, which was much appreciated by this fan, particularly given the disappointment of the season.

A team is only as good as their coaches.  I have visited this board for three years and thought it was where peolpe could vent frustration and have their own opinions whether right or wrong. If you watch a team get beat every weekend and see the potential then it does get frustrating to players, coaches and parents.  For those of you that don't come to the games and see actually what is going on I think you are the ones that need to be called out.  "Internet coaches" ha seems like everyone is.

Methodist has a "rocket" qb but he has sat on the sideline the majority of his career. he showcased some of his abilities against ferrum this year. the argument for a coaching change is needed. the last time methodist has won an away game was in 2007 against greensboro. the past 4 years they have finished in the lower half of the USAC and if it wasnt for a few close finishes this year they may have been 0-9 right now. they have had the athletes the past few years. take 2006 for an example. only player that was different was the qb. They had all american linebackers, nose guard, safety, their corners were really talented, wide receivers were the exact same as the year before, runningback was the same, offensiveline had some young players but just as talented as the year before. only difference was a QB. i understand that the QB is the most important position on the offense but the freshmen that came in and started in 2006 is now playing for FSU as their third or fourth string QB. why couldnt that year team be a contender in conference? it happened in 2007 again. the majority of the team was back minus a few receivers and dbacks but the team still could not perform. the past three years methodist has seen positional coaching changes and each year nothing improves. I agree that they have some very good coaches now, but there are a few that are still holding this program back including the head man himself. They are not using their talent as best they could though.

as for next year. whether or not they have coaching changes...the team is going to be very young on both sides of the ball. hopefully they can get in some talent and actually keep the players from leaving and turn the program around. it would be nice to see the green and gold at top of the conference. as for greensboro the team looked good, much better then the past years. i can honestly say that they may be a contender in a year or two if they can get a few big playmakers and keep doing what their doing. this year has been one of the most competitive seasons i have been able to watch in the USAC. There is no clear powerhouse in the conference and it made for some great games this season.

"A team is only as good as their coaches" = False statement. You must never have played or coached.

Well actually I have done both and seen the difference in teams when they have had dedicated leadership and also the devotion that it takes from the players.  Where's all the hostility from to just want to call someone out over a statement.

AUPOP,

Are we healthy enough to go up against NCWC this weekend.

Just totally disagree with that. There are plenty of very good coaches in all ranks of football that have bad teams.  I have played on very good teams with bad coaches as well. And I was not being hostile at all.  ;D

Have they ironed out the kicking game yet. I see where a freshman is kicking extra points and field goals. What happen to the kicker that started the season out kicking?

The thing that worries me is size on the line. Last year we couldn't match up O line vs. D. Line with them and running between the tackles was next to impossible. We were able to open it up a little with passing but they were just too much for us. Not sure what they lost to graduation but looking at their record and the scores they didn't loose much.

Averett will have to give everything they got and then some. I wish I could go this week but the honey do list is way to long from building up from the past 4 years.
